Does anyone on this forum know anything about the "hidden rooms" at the parks? Learned about 2 of them, but apparently there are 7!!

never heard of 7 "secret rooms" in wdw - where are the 2 that you know of located?

I have no idea what you are referring to...but of course, I am curious, you may get a better response over on the stragey board. I'll keep my eyes out for the magic answer.

Never heard about 7 secret rooms. There are 7 lands in MK.

Over this past weekend, a friend and I went to Biloxi for some casino fun. When we were there, we started talking with a floor man at one of the casinos. He called himself a "Disney-holic". Says that he and family go down a couple of times a MONTH! Says that he gets lots of comps because he comps the concierges from WDW.
So, we were talking about hidden Mickeys and he says: Do you know about the secret rooms? We tell him no. So he says that he's learned that there are 7 secret rooms located throughout all the parks. He said that whoever is clever enough to figure them out is perfectly welcome to go in. So, I asked him if he'd ever found any. He said yes, he'd found 2 of them. You will not be able to get ANY information out of the WDW employees he said. They are sworn to secrecy. He said that one of the rooms is in Morocco, toward the back. He says there's a hidden door that if you find it leads to a $30,000,000 14K gold room that is a prayer room. He said the other one was up in the restaurant in Cinderella's castle. It was a room that Walt stayed in when he was in Florida. If you can find your way in, you are welcome to see it. According to this man, its now a Walt Disney Memorial with a lot of Walt's memorobilia inside.
I'm give anything to go down there SOON to try to verify it.
If anyone read's this and is going down there, please, try to verify at least one of them. That would lend some credence to whether this is true or not!!
Thanks!

I think the man was pulling your leg Walt Disney never saw the MK completed

My husband herad of this too! Walt Disney did build himself an apartment in the Castle in which he was to live in during his stay - I saw this on the Travel Channel WDW Secrets just a few weeks ago (although they never mentioned it as a secret room, for the reasons you mentioned below) DH says another secret room is located over the firehouse on Main Street, which was to be Roy Disney's WDW home. We will be there next week, and will absolutely try to find at least one and will let you know. OHHHH how exciting...secret rooms, lunar eclipse - how mysterious!

Please, not trying to start argument. And, the stuff about the rooms could be urban legend stuff. But, it wouldn't matter if Walt lived to see the completion or not would it? Wasn't Cinderella's castle built first as sort of an "announcement" of things to come? Then wouldn't it make sense that Walt had built in a place to stay when he was on site?

Good luck, Gonga! Let us know if you find anything!!!!

No arguements here:)
I saw Walts room in the castle for a fact on the Travel Channel.........they showed the room, and the layout and location in which he and his family were to stay and it was in the Castle. The "secret rooms" may be an Urban Legend (and a fun one!) but we won't know for sure until someone fines one:), but the apartment in which Walt was to stay is true. I can only say this because I saw it on Walt Disney World Secrets Revealed. It was the entire history of WDW for the initial concept, to secretly purchasing land to the building of the castle and parks and resorts. It was a very interesting 1 hour program, maybe they will show it again soon so you can see it. Go to www.travelchannel.com for programming info. It was really great!:D

Walt Disney passed form this mortal coil in 1966. Walt Disney World opened in 1971.

The Cinderalla Castle apartment was only labelled "Walt's" after his death. There is an apartment above Casey's Corner that was more likely where Walt would actually have stayed, had he ever over-nighted in MK.

The Cinderella Castle apartment is not something that guests can "find" on their own without going places they are clearly not supposed to... but there are plenty of folks who have seen it, after being invited.

The Morocco Pavilion is a magnificent beast with several isolated and intricately decorated areas. To my knowledge, none of these is considered "more secret" than the others... but if this rumor encourages more folks to spend time exploring "through the arch" in Morocco, it's a positive force in the world.

When I worked at the Magic Kingdom in the early eighties, one night my friends and I "snuck" into the room in the castle mentioned in this post. It was easy. There is an elevator in the castle with three stops on it; one in the basement (or tunnell), one in the breezeway (it is the big wooden door on the right as you are walking through to Fantasyland) and the third floor is the Penthouse (the letters PH are on the elevator button). The Penthouse is the room that supposedly was to be for Walt and his family (which I find strange since he died before anything was designed and built for the park, so you would think that the designers of the castle would know he would not be using it... but I digress). At the time all you had to do was push PH in the elevator and the doors opened into the room. Only cast members used the elevator, mostly the entertainers that performed on the stage in front of the castle. The room itself was nothing but an empty dusty room with a few dead birds in it (they must have flown in through the broken stained glass window and got stuck there and died) and a bathroom. We walked through the room and went out on one of the balconies that overlooks main street towards tomorrowland. We were crouching down low and thought we were being so sneeky, but when we looked behind us our shadows were HUGE and being projected all the way up the side of the castle from the low placed flood lights. We ran back into the room and back down the elevator so nobody would see us. Other employees told us that they used to sneak up there and watch the main street electrical parade. Shortly after we made our trip they locked the PH button. I hear that it is now being used for storage. It is really no big deal, more like an old attic than a fancy hidden room.

I have a feeling the other hidden rooms mentioned are urban legend, but who knows.

Somebody had previously posted that there was a playroom hidden in mgm at the pizza place. I can't recall exactly what was posted but it was something to the effect that it was a hidden room.

There was an apartment built, that is no secret. However, since it is considered a backstage area, you are most certainly NOT welcome to see it.

the apartment over the firehouse is actually at Disneyland in CA. And Walt did actually use it...

but remember, for what ever reason you do go looking for these "rooms", do not go into the doors saying Cast Members (or anything to that exstent) only, there is a reason why you can go through them.

I believe most of the "Secret" rooms he is talking about are the corprate lounges and former AP holder lounges.... But like i just said, do not go to these if your not sopose to be there.:D :bounce: :p :jester:

the reason I said Walt never saw Disney finished is because the post before that said walt slept in that room which he could not have because he did not see the world finished

In defence of the young man who passed the information to my friend and me over the weekend, I possibly misquoted him on the part about Walt staying in the room. Or maybe I didn't; can't be sure.
Personally, I listened to what he had to say in good faith. He seemed sincere. Maybe he thought that we were a couple of silly old women and thought that he'd have a chuckle at our expense.
Whatever his agenda, he seemed to believe what he was telling us.
Frankly, I don't need any lectures about where I can and can't go at Disney. The implication that I would violate anyone's boundaries sounds very close to being insulting to me.
My question was posed most sincerely and was requesting a sincere answer, not to start an argument.

You posted second-hand information that "one was up in the restaurant in Cinderella's castle. It was a room that Walt stayed in when he was in Florida. If you can find your way in, you are welcome to see it." Because you got a partially correct story, a Cast Member cleared up a mistake in your information: guests are simply not "welcome" to see the apartment if they can "find their way in."

My question was posed most sincerely and was requesting a sincere answer, not to start an argument.

This is not argumentative, this is informational. You were misinformed about guest access to the Cinderella Castle apartment, and the actual information has now been presented.

You got a very sincere answer... but it sounds like what you expected was a confirmation of your information. That's not coming: the information you were given was not accurate.

alright.. you want to know what's in the castle? I'll tell you what's in the castle.

A store, a restaurant, and a Castle Show Greenroom/Staging area.

That's it. Nothing else.

What was once there was the WDW Call Center... not anymore.

If Walt intended to live there, I'd have to go out on a limb and call him a fool... it's more than a bit cramped.

One of the most unusual "secret" rooms I've seen picutres of is the basketball court inside the Matterhorn at DL. There are pictures of it at www.snopes.com in the Disney section.

Wasn't it mentioned in MGM's One Mans Dream that Walt had a small apartment being built in the castle and it was never completed.
