July 4th Ideas

We will be in Los Angeles on July 4th. What are our options for fireworks? We'll be arriving in LA from Anaheim earlier in the day and haven't really figured our day out yet. We have some touristy things we want to see, but don't really have a plan. We are flexible and can plan our day around the fireworks.

Normally, there are fireworks shows at the beaches up and down the coast. Last year, LA County issued restrictions on fireworks over the water and most, if not all, shows were cancelled. Reading the details, it looks like there is a notice of intent that needs to be filed. Since the restriction was announced less than a month before the shows last year, most didn't have time to get the necessary permitting in.

In December, I was driving to LAX and saw fireworks over the beach. This makes me hopeful that the July 4 beach front shows will return.
