Ok, is it just me or is everyone awash in AmEx spends and finding all their regular bills don't take AmEx??? I'm working on a Hilton FNC and a retention on my AmEx Plat and all of my usual monthly bills (utilities, cable, Costco) don't take AmEx. It will be fine, I've never had a problem meeting a MSR but I just wish some of these worked for me! I get the extra cost to the business so I'm not complaining too much!

Hyatt rep just told DH that he couldn't use his points or a free night certificate to book me a hotel (in London if it matters). They told him he physically has to check in. This does not sound right to me. Anyone know?

Are you globalist? I think gifting globalist status is the only way he can use your certificate.

Here ya go, @punkin - this is a quote from my recent email regarding my expiring FNC's with Hyatt.

If you would like to create a reservation for a friend or family member please call World of Hyatt at: 1.888.454.9288.

I will have him call that number in the morning.

He should ask to make a Guest of Honor booking for you, then you'll get all the Globalist benefits. Direct messaging the Hyatt Concierge on Twitter has worked very well for me.

Thank you. It's very strange that the rep on the phone (regular number) didn't know any of this.

Ok, so just confirming that SW bonus won't post until after a statement closes. So as long as my December statement has closed, I'm good to spend like a drunken sailor?

That's my understanding as well. So I am finishing off the $1000 I had on DH's first biz, as that statement closed 12/05, so shouldn't close again until 1/05, meaning points will post in 2022. DH will apply for biz 2 around 12/15.

Just got a Chase offer for 10% off a Southwest purchase of at least $49 with a cash back limit of $30 on my SW card. Not sure I’ll do anything with it, as I have plenty of points (and expect over 100,000 more). Then again a cash ticket will bring me a little closer to the CP quicker. Then again the only way that would work is to take at least one trip without the benefit of the CP.

Yep, here, too, going for both that FNC with Hilton and a retention on a Gold. It won't be a problem to meet the MSRs, but it's annoying that we can't use Amex for so many things.

It's not right, at any status level, from what I know. I'd call again (and yeah, have your DH call in so he can give you his status).

Why can't you book the room in both your names and then he checks in for you? My DH does that all the time with Hilton. It's his account, points, FNC, etc with them but he just puts both names on the reservation. When I check-in I just use the "can I get a key for my husband, he's joining us later tonight" routine and no one knows, or cares, that he never shows up.

This is what I do. I book my wife as an "additional guest" when I book Hiltons for her. She has my login to the Honors app and most of the time uses Digital Key, so she never has to go to the desk.

I haven't seen any talk here about Hertz letting you gift Five Star or President's Circle to anyone for the first half of 2022. So if anyone that got a Venture X and the PC status that goes with it is feeling generous ... It would be appreciated.

We're planning to use PYB for our dining on our WDW trip next month & I'm curious if anyone has experience on how places like the Main Street Confectionary & the Caramel Shop in Germany code for Chase? Retail? Dining? We're staying at the BCV, so I'm also curious about the BC Marketplace since it's a hybrid store/ restaurant. We usually order in person because of allergies, does the restaurant side of the marketplace allow you to pay for regular merchandise? I'm just wondering if we can use PYB for some souvenirs & save our DGC stash for our trip next summer.

I assume mobile ordering & stand alone restaurants all code as dining?

Traveler friends - is anyone familiar with Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa or Royalton Punta Cana, both in Dominican Republic? My son’s school has an unofficial tradition of a mother/son senior year spring break trip, and these are two of the resorts being considered by the group. For my own interests, particularly wondering how their casinos are 😀 (But also wondering which has better/more appealing activities for a bunch of seniors)

I found more detail and it doesn't look like that card will be worth it for me right now.

I had that offer earlier this year and decided to pass on it. I did buy a SW gift card back on the day they were offering 50x RR points up to $100 purchase. Since we have 3 travelers I figure it can eventually be used at some point, but with a nice stash of RRs (and URs) and a CP, it's hard to really justify spending OOP cash. I'm also swimming in Amex airline credits that I need to start using up for the year, so that plays a big part in my decision too.
