Danielle & Chris: 11-11-11 WP/ADH/DP Wedding PJ/TR - Complete *(1 Year Anniversary)

Hello! just stumbled upon your PJ. First off...CONGRATULATIONS!!!:cheer2:
Your plans are coming together great! I'll be following along...and as for the flower girls....i found this while browsing and had to include the link for you...it's a tad different from the 2nd choice you had... ^_^...just what a bride needs...more options...:rotfl:

Thanks for the link! I know it is overwhelming, but I guess I am thankful of having so many choices...gotta do it the right way! ;)

Good morning! :goodvibes

My long day dress hunting with my future sister-in-law, Katherine, turned out pretty successful. We went to 2 different places, and I'm pretty sure she tried on about 25 different dresses...she was a good sport. :)

And after many swatches and dress styles later...we both fell in love with this:

Just so you know, this is NOT the color we are going with and it is obviously too big on her...but I LOVE the whole look. :goodvibes

It's a Watters dress: dupioni silk, pockets, optional spaghetti straps will come and will come in the color Adriatic blue.

I'm in love with the bust of it! It reminds me of Ariel in a way :rotfl: but I also think it is a great style that will compliment the Atlantic Dance Hall.

This is what the dress, in the correct color, will look like according to the Watters website:

It's fun and flirty and all my out-of-state bridesmaids that I've shown it to love it! YAY!

So after I found the bridesmaids dress that I love :lovestruc, we went to lunch at Sonic and then on to dress shop #2!

Now, I knew that the lady at this place was going to make me try on wedding gowns (she was poking fun at me on the phone because I hadn't even started looking yet) so as soon as I walked in, the gowns came out.
This was my first time putting on a wedding dress...it was fun! :upsidedow

Well, after I got in the first and walked out of the dressing room, my future sister-in-law started to tear up and cry! I LOVED it. It was the best out of the 3 I tried on. Could it really be this easy? :lmao: LOL.

This is very close to what it looked like, except I don't remember the top neckline looking like that (it was a surreal moment, after all) but if the top is like that, then it matches the bridesmaids!!! Weee!!!

Turns out at the end of the day, the price of the gown will be LESS than the price of all the bridesmaids dresses put together (we are footing the bill for them also) :scared1: Oh well, everyone will look fabulous! ;)

So that's all I have to report for now on the dress situation.

Now I'm off to do some crafty things!
OH! And sign our Letter of Agreement and send it back!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! What beautiful dresses!! The bridesmaid dresses are lovely, and your gown is gorgeous! How cool that they all match!! :goodvibes

I've been working on postcards to put in our guest's welcome folders!

I went to Staples yesterday and thought I'd try this postcard paper.

Well, I LOVE it. It's already perforated for you and all you have to do is place your image in the template and print it out! SO easy. :goodvibes

So the first thing I printed out were these little beauties :lmao::

And then I did some that listed the bride & groom's favorite Disney snacks and restaurants and put them on here! :

Love them!
Now I'm off to do some other postcards :)

Well, Fe and I sent our Letter of Agreement away in the mail today! :cool1:

It's making a pit-stop in Pittsburgh so my parents can co-sign it and then it's off to Florida! :woohoo:

I can't wait to hear back from a planner! :cloud9:

Joining in! What a great dress!! It is so gorgeous. I found dress shopping to be super easy and well (first dress I tried on was the one, just like you). And I love the color of the BM dress...not the "burn your eyes out turqoiuse" but very gorgeous.

I can't wait to read more. :goodvibes:

Just found your PJ and I am loving your plans so far! I love the colors and the dresses you have looked at so far. We are also planning on doing the same thing with our two flower girls, they are going to Bippity Boppity Boutique the morning of the wedding, but the dresses are so much so we are getting them beforehand too. I really like the second dress for them. I can't wait to hear more plans, it seems like your very organized!

Thank you! I'm so excited about the dresses :goodvibes I'm actually going back in a few hours to look at it again :rotfl:

Thank you :)
I think the BBB is such a great experience, I have to have the little girls do it! And I know, you end up saving a lot of money when you buy the costumes in advanced.
:rotfl: Yeah, I try to be organized! Hopefully it'll stay that way!

I am so pumped (and relieved) because I went back with 3 more of my girlfriends today to try on the previous potential wedding dress...and I think it really is THE ONE!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::thumbsup2 I LOVE IT.

I also asked the woman what the top looked like again, because I remembered the top being differently.

Turns out it's the same dress and I can get the top of the bodice in pleats (that match the bridesmaids dresses!) SCORE! :goodvibes:cool1:

YAY!

I FINALLY HAVE DECIDED ON DRESSES I LOVE!

I now present to you, THE gown :lovestruc:cloud9:

It has the right amount of jewels, it's beautiful satin, the train is the perfect length and it hugs me in all the right places! :goodvibes
I'm even going to do a veil with it (I didn't think I wanted one until I tried it on, hahah!)

And the gown is officially going to look splendid with this style bridesmaid dress:

But this is the actual swatch of the bridesmaid dress, cause the internet sucks.

I am just really in love with the pleating on all the dresses. It's going to look so great with the Art Deco style in the Atlantic Dance Hall!

Now I'm just waiting on my mommy to fly up here and see everything in person and then we'll order them! (I've sent her emails of the dresses and she loves them :thumbsup2).

Now on to researching tuxes...dang, I feel like this is going to be hard. :lmao:

I'm so happy! I just got the flowergirl dresses in the mail from the Disney Store :goodvibes And I think I made the right choice!!! :lovestruc
They're so much better in person than what the website showed.

This is what the Disney Store previewed: :confused3

Not a lot of detail...

But here's what came in the mail!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

THERE'S BLUE IN IT! YESSSSS!!!!!

I love it so, so, so, so much and I think my little flowergirls will too! ;)
Too bad they have to be in storage for a year! Boooo. :rolleyes1

:rotfl: Turns out as I was writing my last entry, the mailman dropped off my other package!!! It feels like my birthday, haha. :goodvibes

This time it was my David Tutera for Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings ring bearer pillow! :thumbsup2

I was very nervous because I ordered it off of ebay (I've never done that before), but I was desperate to get this discontinued pillow to match the flower girl petal cones. :headache:

I'm so glad I did, because it is beautiful! :yay:

_MG_3128.jpg

_MG_3129.jpg

It is in perfect condition with it's original packaging. It wasn't the Disney Store's clearance sale price of $9.99, but I did get it less than it's original ridiculous $75 price tag. :thumbsup2 I'm always up for a good bargain!

It's so precious and delicate, I can't wait to keep it as a memory keepsake :)

I feel like 2011 is going to burn a hole in everyone's pockets. Gah! :headache::sick: So much money being spent right now, but I guess it's good we're kind of spacing out our purchases.

My parents got the contract, signed it, and it's making it's way down to DFTW as I type. :goodvibes I can't wait to get my planner!

Also, I think we've decided on booking Reverend Tim Herring as our officiant! :woohoo: He seems like such a sweetheart and I think will be perfect for us...Now, just gotta send our deposit!
EDIT: WE GOT REVEREND TIM <3 YAY!!!

I've also contacted David & Vicki Arndt to do our engagement photos when we go down for our planning session in May. I love their work and I hope that the time we want is still available! (go figure, May is the busiest month :rolleyes1 )
EDIT: WE GOT DAVID & VICKI FOR THE ENGAGEMENT SHOOT! :) I'm happy!

And D23 announced today that the Destination D: Walt Disney World 40th Anniversary Celebration is going to be that same weekend that we are going down in May ;):thumbsup2 I'm excited!!! Guess I have to save up for those tickets too now! :rotfl:

Can't wait for May now! Only 200-ish more days until planning session, Fe's birthday, engagement photo shoot, D23 event, my birthday...WOOT! :yay:

That's all for now!

So, not too much new news to report on the wedding, but I am excited to share this Disney related news...I started working at The Disney Store in my mall! YAY! So far I've only worked 2 days, but I love it and everyone that works there is so great. :goodvibes

So other than that, our DFTW contract is in the mail...so now what happens?

I know it takes a while for everything to get processed, but what is there for me to start thinking about? Anything? :confused3

Yes, it does take quite a while to get the planning packet and hear from your planner. I would suggest just working on anything you don't have done yet. You can start looking at some menus, putting together a music list for the reception, or wording for the ceremony. Have you decided where you want to have your engagement shoot done?

:goodvibes Thanks! I totally forgot about the importance of music :rotfl: better start brainstorming. :thumbsup2

I've been researching what hair styles I want for the engagement photos and wedding day! So far this is what I've gathered:

hairstyle.jpg

I'm excited that I can play around and have flowers or hair accessories for our e-photo shoot and then change the look completely when I have a veil on for the wedding. :lovestruc

Hmm, now I just have to book a hair/makeup specialist. :rotfl:

I had a couple hours before work, so I decided to make another goody for our guest's welcome bags. I made signs that our guests can hang up in their window at the value and moderate resorts!

signmockup.jpg

Still trying to figure out what kind of signage to make for our deluxe resort guests...Any suggestions? (They will be staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge.) Have people put door hangers or something of the decor sort at their room in AKL? It's just difficult when the doors are wood and there are no windows towards the guests.

Hi. I luv your wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. That's great that they match. Also your flower girls are going to look sooo cute in their Cinderella dresses! :cutie:

I love the hair inspiration pic's. That is similar to how I want my hair and I have been having a hard time finding good photos. The window signs are very cute! I think a door sign would work perfect for AKL to hang on the doors, maybe you could even include some cute wording that relates the AKL.
