Anyone willing to share Music List for Marathon Weekend?

Life is a Highway - Rascall Flatts

I'm Alive - Celine Dion (slower but inspirational)

Jump - Pointer Sisters?

I have a lot of 80s/90s on mine:
Run Run Away - Slade
Turn Me Loose- Loverboy
Lovin Every Minute of It - Loverboy
Hungry Like the Wolf - Duran Duran
Invincible - Pat Benatar
Tuff Enuff - The Fabulous Thunderbirds
Lick It Up - Kiss
Heaven's On Fire - Kiss

Then into the real world:
Never Again - Kelly Clarkson
Go Getta - Young Jeezy
Whine Up - Kat Deluna and Elephant Man
Girlfriend Remix - Avril Levigne and Lil Mama

I'm kind of eclectic and I have a lot of my DDs music on it. When I get really bored, or I need a little boost, I just shuffle her music. :scared1:

Beth

Thanks for all the ideas!!!

On the WDW website it says no headphones
so can we or can't we listen to our music?
I'll be lost without it!
Thanks for the info :)

Here's a few I added to my playlist today--something a little different--I was a musician in a previous life and loved these:thumbsup2

Pictures at an Exhibition--The Great Gate of Kiev; Moussorgsky
Night on Bald Mountain; Moussorgsky
The Planets, Jupiter; Holst
Rodeo, The Hoedown; Aaron Copland

Yeah, all classical music, but really upbeat. If anyone looked at my playlist they'd definitely see a mental patient!:upsidedow

OK, you brought me out of WISH lurkdom!

I played percussion in my high school concert band, although it's been a long time since then, lol. We performed three out of four of the pieces you listed (Pictures, Planets, and Rodeo). I was fortunate to have attended a school where the band was excellent, and I was exposed to a lot of amazing music.

Those are great choices for running or working out!

Ooh, fun! I have several of my songs set to repeat at least twice (on shuffle), so my list isn't tremendously long, but here's some of it:

Blue October - Sound of Pulling Heaven Down
Illuminations: Reflections of Earth (this one repeats like 5 times)
Off Kilter - Troy's Wedding
" " - Follow Me Up to Carlow
" " - Brenda Stubbert's Reel
American Hi-Fi - Art of Losing
Klaus Badelt - He's a Pirate
Bee Gees - Tragedy
Birdbrain - Youth of America
Brand New - Sic Transit Gloria
Collective Soul - Better Now
Duran Duran - Want You More!
Eve 6 - On the Roof Again
Everclear - AM Radio
Flogging Molly - Devil's Dance Floor
" " - Tobacco Island
Peter Gabriel - Kiss of Life
" " - I Go Swimming
Gravity Kills - Blame
" " - Enough
" " - One
" " - Love, Sex, and Money
" " - One Thing
INXS - Suicide Blonde
Patti LaBelle - Lady Marmalade
Local H - All Right Oh Yeah
Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out of My Head
Nelly, P. Diddy, et. al. - Shake Ya Tailfeather
The Prodigy - Smack my B**ch Up
Split Enz - Dirty Creature

Stabbing Westward - On Your Way Down (Down & Out remix)
Sneaker Pimps - Spin Spin Sugar
Teddybears - Cobrastyle
Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue
The Young Dubliners - Rocky Road to Dublin
Hans Zimmer - Tortuga (Two Hornpipes) <--PERFECT beat for fast walking! :)

I'm going to go through and add some new stuff to the playlist and probably delete some existing stuff because this is the same list I've used for the last 3 half-marathons I did and it starts to get a little old after a while ;) I'll see if I've got some faster-paced Disney stuff to add in for something a little different.

I put these songs on DH's mp3 last year as a joke. He had his music on a shuffle mode and no lie they both came on when we going over the back to back overpasses for the half about mile 10 and 11 he literally started sprinting up the overpass and I had to chase him :rotfl: Funny now, not so funny then!!

Judy hope you feel better soon!!

Anybody into Podrunners? or the mixes that do beats per minute? I was searching for one thing, and came across this site http://djsteveboy.com/aboutpr.html It has some good mixes I thought, a good FAQ about downloading (which I needed) as well as a program mix called First Day to 5K - which sounded interesting!! Thought I'd share!!

I use some I got from workoutmusic.com and powermusic.com They have so many beats per minute--I think mine have around 135. I do find it helps me to stay on pace a bit better... I wish I had my ipod when I was doing C25K. They have pocasts for each week that tells you when to walk and when to run... DH was w/ me with a stop watch! :lovestruc

I'll have to check out that site...Always looking for something new! Thanks!

Stacie
This was quoted in the thread Running with music. It was quoted from the Wk of Feb 17th--WISH Walking/Running Club. I thought the link to the Running with Music thread had some interesting information to consider so I linked that too.

I don't have set playlists...everything's just on the MP3 player. Some things I've liked for training:

Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin
Get the Party Started by Pink
Footloose by Kenny Loggins
Love Shack by B52s
Home by Marc Broussard

You are the first person that I've ever seen also run to Footloose. It is my FAVORITE, serving as my power song.

To all posters:
Thank you so so very much!!!! I am in search of new running music all the time. Your suggestions just may help me get over that hill or to that finish line! You guys/gals rock!

Here's some of mine:

Still haven't found what I'm looking for - U2 (warm up song)
Lovestoned - Justin Timberlake
Hot Legs - Rod Sterart
Achy Breaky Heart - Billy Ray Cyrus (don't laugh, good beat)
Pump It - Black Eyed Peas
Fergalicious - Fergie
Beautiful Girls - Sean Kingston
Underdog - Kyle Massey
Jumpin Jumpin - Destiney's Child
Push It to the Limit - Corbin Bleu
Ready to Run - Dixie Chicks
Standing Outside the Fire - Garth Brooks
Under Pressure - David Bowie
Lady Marmalade - Christina Aguilara, et al
Man Eater - Hall & Oates
Living in Fast Forward - Kenny Chesney
GoodBye Earl - Dixie Chicks
U Can't touch This - MC Hammer
Shake Your BonBon - Ricky Martin

Anything from the Barenaked Ladies. You have to concentrate on their lyrics to get a good laugh. My power song on my Ipod is The Big Bang Theory (like the CBS show).

Bicycle Race from Queen, because when I'm running, I'd rather be riding my bicycle.:lmao:

Run from Collective Soul

Take it Easy, Take to the Limit from The Eagles

Runaround, Hook from Blues Traveler

Running on Empty from Jackson Brown

The Call from Regina Spektor (The Narnia Chronicles: Prince Caspian Soundtrack). I just saw the movie, beautiful song during the closing credits.

Aerosmith and Avril Lavigne has some cranking tunes.

Disney themes:
Fantasmic
The Baroque Hoedown (Theme to the Main Street Electrical Parade)
La Nouba (Cirque du Soleil at WDW)
