Anyone willing to share Music List for Marathon Weekend?

I have yet to find a list of Contempory Christian running songs, so I have compiled my own. I really don't have a problem with pop music, but I just get so much more out of my run when I listen Christian music. So here is my list:

Flood - Jars of Clay
Nuisance - John Reuban
Strong Tower - Kutless
High of 75 - Relient K
Who I Am Hates Who I've Been - Relient K
Gone - Switchfoot
Diverse City - tobyMac
Made to Love - tobyMac
Every Move I Make - Out of Eden

I also didn't see anyone post what I consider a MUST HAVE on any running playlist - Eye of the Tiger - the Rocky theme - trust me on this one.

What about the treadmill song?

My problem is I have tweens and about all we listen to is Disney - like High School Musical, etc. I'm so out of touch with song names and artists' names I don't even know how to go about filling up an ipod. I had been listening to Disney themed podcasts while walking, but with running it ain't cutting it.

I tried singing a song to DH the other day to see if he knew who sung it and he looked at me with a blank stare. :rotfl:

I think I'd do better with harder songs. Maybe I should pull out some old CDs to gets some ideas - like Smashing Pumpkins or something. :confused3

EDIT - Looked at DH's playlist. Wow, he has some odd stuff on there! One caught my attention - Firestarter by Prodigy. Pretty good running song!

Found the ipod commercial song I was looking for!

Are You Gonna Be My Girl - JET

And the treadmill song is -

Here It Goes Again - OK GO

I think both those songs are very cool!

Breath by Prodigy also sounds like a good running song. :thumbsup2

Crashed- Daughtry
Over You- Daughtry
There and Back- Daughtry
What I want- Daughtry

(can you tell I bought the Daughtry cd?)

It's sort of an obscure band, but Grand National has a few really good walking/running songs. They're on their "Kicking The National Habit" album. It's kind of a fun mix of 80's pop and 70's disco...but I promise it works. The tempo is great.

My favorites:
1. Drink to Moving On
2. Talk Amongst Yourselves
3. Playing in the Distance
4. Boner
6. Cherry Tree
7. Coming Round

I think you might be able to preview #2 on this website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/collective/A2633050
Maybe #1 on http://www.epitonic.com/index.jsp?refer=http://www.epitonic.com/artists/grandnational.html
Or just check their website :)

Here's a few I added to my playlist today--something a little different--I was a musician in a previous life and loved these:thumbsup2

Pictures at an Exhibition--The Great Gate of Kiev; Moussorgsky
Night on Bald Mountain; Moussorgsky
The Planets, Jupiter; Holst
Rodeo, The Hoedown; Aaron Copland

Yeah, all classical music, but really upbeat. If anyone looked at my playlist they'd definitely see a mental patient!:upsidedow

I just added Work it (to the limit) by Corbin Benson from the recent jump rope movie. It's a great motivating song!

Hi,
I dont know if this is the best place to ask this question, but looking on the WDW Marathon site, it lists "headphones" as one of the prohibited items on the course. Does anyone know if this is enforced? I cant imagine running without my ipod! Thanks for the information.

I now have 60 songs in my running playlist. I'd share if I knew how to copy and paste them here. Does anyone know how to do that? It is on iTunes...

I wanted to post really quick and say that if you looked at my iPod list before today (4/19), you saw that I had "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arm Race" by Fall Out Boy. I just took that off my song rotation, it's funny how you can REALLY hear the song when it's blaring directly in your ear through headphones rather than on the radio. There were some extremely offensive lyrics in that song that I didn't notice until I heard it on a run. It's shame that the lyrics were so bad as the song was a great one to run to, I tried the radio edit, but I still knew where the edited parts were and I could still "hear" what they were saying. If you downloaded that song on my recommendation, I sincerely apologize. :flower3:

Here's some new ones I've downloaded, sorry if there are any repeats:

The Siamese Cat Song- B5
Vertical - T-Squad
The Bare Necessities- Bowling for Soup
Play that Funky Music- Wild Cherry
Let's Groove- B5
Unbelievable- EMH
Ain't No Mystery- Smash Mouth
So Insane- Smash Mouth

I just added "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray and "Oh My God" from Legally Blonde, both of which are fun and high energy!

I hadn't even thought about Disney songs. Thats a great idea. I have a couple of those CD's. I love Hilary Duff's version of Tiki Room. Makes you want to move.

I had "Tiki Room" on my playlist for the Half Marathon this past year .... it was the only Disney-related song. Ironically it came on as I was entering Magic Kingdom. :music:

What album was the "Tiki Room" on? I can't find it to download and was wondering, thanks!
