I'm so excited. It makes vacation seem all that much closer now that we have our documents.
Lynn, congrats on the upcoming anniversary and your DD's engagement. I can't believe it has been 20 years for us already. And we loved the Big Red Boat! Of course it was our first ever cruise. I was only 23 at the time and I remember jumping in circles up on the top deck not believeing where we were. God that was a great cruise!

Debbie - sorry to hear about the points. What a bummer.
What a great way to celebrate your anniversary. We did a Disney cruise for our honeymoon. It was so fun.We will be celebrating our 20th on the cruise. Our anniversary is actually September 29th but we are going to celebrate while on the cruise. 20 years. Hard to believe. And can you guess what we did for our honeymoon???????
If you said a cruise and WDW you are absolutely correct! Only back then the Disney cruise was on the Big Red Boat, or Premiere Cruise Line. It was fantastic. Loved every minute of it and have been infatuated with Disney ever since!
You are not a total dork. So, you know how there are certain dates or moments in history that you will always remember where you were at that time? Well, on 8/8/88, that was the first time in my life that I was aware that all the numbers of the date were the same number. (I was only 6 years old on 7/7/77 - OOHH!! I bet Vegas was REALLY hopping that day! LOL)
So, I always remember on today's date that some kid I knew wrote his name on the ceiling of the basket room at the pool where I worked. What an incredibly silly thing to remember!! I don't remember where I was or what I was doing on 9/9/99 or 01/02/03 or 02/03/04 or 04/05/06, and so forth and so on, but I will always remember that I was at the pool working on 8/8/88.
I know, you all probably think I'm a total dork now...but I just now realized what today's date is and thought I'd share my silly little story!
Glad you had a great day yesterday.WOW!!! You all went NTUS yesterday!! Sorry I couldn't join we had friends here for the day. We swam, ate and drank and all FIVE kids were good!!! Ours are 3 & 6, theirs are 3, 5 and 7!!!
Marsha - Happy Anniversary to your parents, what a blessing to spend 49 years together!!!
happy Birthday to ZaKiyah!!!
Congrats to Shawn, Milford, Debbie and Oh no I forgot!!! Terrie!!! on the & !!!!
Back to work - !!!
Best wishes to you & your daughter on the engagement. A Disney Fairy Tale Wedding - wow! How exciting! Enjoy the planning process. We have our anniversary on the 28th, we will be married 37 years! We plan to celebrate on this cruise as well. We have also been on the big red boat not a honeymoon but a family reunion.
I have not been as active as I had hoped on this board, sorry. We just returned from Disney last weekend and while there my DD became engaged Her fiance dropped to his knee in front of the castle. We had already started planning a wedding in Disney now it's all official! We had meetings with Disney FairyTale weddings while there as well. So now we have mountains of work ahead of us, but it's happy work. We are very excited.
While we were gone I tried to check email daily. I have tried to keep all the information in a folder for the FE exchange and I have to check through everything and get going! We also just got our docs the other day too.
We are also excited about staying at SSR and OKW for the first time. Our home is BLT and that is the only DVC we have stayed at. It's good to be a member
Another trip to Disney before the cruise, congratulations. I am glad everything worked out for you.A while back I mentioned that we had added on via resale on our AKV contract. I had explained to the broker that I was hoping to use the remaining '08 points banked into '09 before they expire on the last night of Summer Nightastic which is this Satuday since I wanted DH to experience it too. So that meant that they would need to rush everything. The closing company was on board and asked Disney to rush it too. Friday I called member services and the contract was not in the system yet. I spoke to administration and the lady was SO NICE. She searched every one until she found it eventually (this took a long time) but it hadn't been processed yet. It was processed this morning but the points weren't loaded in (different departement). I am not one to give up and say ok but I was very polite and grateful while pleading my case Two or three supervisors later that the young lady I was on the phone with spoke to and then I was told they'd get the points loaded and they'd be in 30 minutes later. I called and we got OKW for Saturday the 14th, last night of Summer Nightastic We are coming in on the 13th and staying at Marriott (earned a free night) and going to Hollywood Studios for their Annual Passholder Tower of Terror event
I also got ressies for a stay after the crusie Unfortunately BLT was not available so we are staying at VWL but we are wait listed for BLT just in case.
Terrie

Yes, thank you. I am excited. If there is one thing I love about living in Florida is that House of Mouse is not too far away Between expiring points and a free Marriott night doing a split stay over two nights is not all that bad
Terrie
That is our dream to one day live in Florida. At least with in the next 5-10 years. We just love it down there.
But can I ask, isn't a split stay kind of a pain. I read about people doing it all the time but I would hate to have to pack up and move half way through my vacation. But if that is the only way to be there I guess we would do it. But I was just wondering.
We would like to move someplace where we would get 4 seasons. I am not sure we would like being so far from WDW though LOL. Yes, normally a split stay would be a PIA. But since our only reasons for going are the Tower of Terror event and the MSEP with the last night of Summer Nightastic Fireworks we don't have much on the agenda I will probably request a late checkout from Marriott go check in at OKW if the room isn't ready we will go to DTD for shopping and lunch grab an early dinner at The Wave after getting settled at OKW. The we will head to MK for the parade and fireworks. If HM and POTC aren't packed we'll do that and go back to the resort. Most of the time when we do a quickie short trip we only hit a couple of highlights for us. That's the beauty of DVC for us and living here. We know we will be back again soon As far as pcking and unpacking, for two nights even I can pack kinda light LOL
Terrie
Ian don't worry - we didn't get our docs yet either!!! Seems they started south, and are moving north?!?!?!
Chris - John and I would LOVE to live in Florida one day - we may have to snow bird though - I don't do heat very well!!! although to be near the mouse I may make an exception!

We got our docs today! I am soo excited!!! 33 days!!! wahoo!!!
We are still working on transpo from MCO to the port and where to stay that night (we fly in from vegas on sat the 11th) and then transpo afterward.
Our plan right now (it may change by tonite) is to rent a car and drive to cocoa beach and stay at the Country Inn and Suites - $116 a night and they have several different specials.
After the cruise we are driving to FT Lauderdale and visiting with family until Sunday and we will fly home to vegas from the FLL airport.
i have our FE stuff ALMOST all done - hope to finish it up next week! woohoo!
I cant WAIT for this cruise - we so need to just sit back and relax!
The crazies are getting to me - it seems like everything is just so busy and crazy and people need so much from my family and i am like hey wait - i have things to do too! and then to top it off, hubby has been having weird chest pains - we ended up calling 911 early saturday morning and spending the entire day at the ER - they have ruled out heart attack, but still not sure whats going on - so he has a follow up today.
we are leaving thursday to go to idaho falls for a wedding - i told him he has to check and make sure he is allowed to fly! fun stuff!
i cant WAIT for september! woohoo!!!
Andrea in Vegas - who is SOOO ready to cruise!!!
Hope DH feels better soon. Glad that it was not a heart attack. We got our docs today! I am soo excited!!! 33 days!!! wahoo!!!
