Non-park trip to central Florida... ideas for a little on property fun.

I snagged a reservation at Kona for the evening we want to do this. I don't love Kona but it's worth it to get over there to see the fireworks. My graduation is in four weeks. I didn't have time to think about it until now, I've been so busy writing my thesis. So I had to take whatever I could get.

Non-park trip to central Florida... ideas for a little on property fun.

I haven't posted here in FOREVER. Grad school tied up all my free time and all my money so I was not planning any trips. I'm finishing my Master's degree! Celebrate! Hubby and I are headed to central Florida for my graduation (listen, I didn't choose a college near Orlando, my employer did...

    2021 cruise watch thread~!

I am wanting to cruise August/September 2021... when would I expect to see those dates released? Probably Bahamas/Caribbean.

I don't need to commit to dates ahead of time at DL, right?

I mean, unlike WDW where I have to know at least 60 days ahead for FP, I don't need to do that at DL, right? We are driving route 66 and we PLAN to arrive in Anaheim on Sunday night and be in the parks Monday and Tuesday but that's not set in stone. Driving 2200 miles, literally anything could...

    Howard Johnson on Harbor?

Yeah, I'm not so stressed about the parks themselves. It's the getting there and then the where to stay. We are spending the week before driving Route 66 and there is just SO MUCH to consider with that, throwing a new Disney park on top of it makes me a bit nervous but I think it'll be fine.

    Howard Johnson on Harbor?

Thanks everyone. I really think this is a good fit for us. I am so overwhelmed, ugh. We go to WDW so much that it's nearly on autopilot. All this planning is really freaking me out. Knowing where to stay is one big thing off my list. :)

    Howard Johnson on Harbor?

Right now that looks like my top choice. I like the price (about $1100 for seven nights) and the rooms look nice and big. We will have just spent a week in the car together (driving route 66) so having a little space to spread out won't hurt my feelings. :) We are only doing two days at...

    Where to stay?

OK, here's the rundown: we are driving Route 66 next April/May. We are taking 8 or 9 days to make the drive from Illinois to California. Once in California, we have about 5 or 6 days and then we fly home (one way rental car). We've got family to visit and other things to do so Disneyland is only...

    Discount tickets from Spark Fly?

Yes. When I didn’t put the space, my phone corrected it to sparkle. :)

    Discount tickets from Spark Fly?

My husband gets discounts on all sorts of things through Spark Fly, it's some kind of corporate discount program. They have three day Disney tickets listed for $60 less than gate price. That beats Undercover Tourist, I believe. My question is, has anyone used them? I don't think a major...

Has anybody ever had their stroller stolen while in park?

Me! At 3am at the 24 hour party in May 2015. Parked it outside Carrousell if Progress and came out to it being gone. We had all our phones and money on us but it was the 24 got party so had lots of stuff in the stroller—extra shoes, clothes, food, ponchos, etc. it was very upsetting. We spent...

    Disneyland June 2019/Grad Nights

I won't. :) Back in 2013 I had a health scare and barely survived. Wishes is what got me through the emotional healing in the aftermath of that. I had such an ugly year of recovering and struggled with severe anxiety and panic attacks... and then a year later, I was healthy enough to be in Magic...

    Disneyland June 2019/Grad Nights

Nighttime entertainment isn't important to me. Wishes was, but well... yeah, I don't care anymore. :) We would for sure only be at Disneyland on Tuesday through Thursday... Friday at Legoland, and fly home from San Diego on Saturday. The tradeoff on nighttime entertainment is that even by the...

    Disneyland June 2019/Grad Nights

So the more I look into moving our trip to April/early May, the happier I am. First of all, the temperature swing at the grand canyon appears to be about 30 degrees between the two date options. I'll take 70 degrees over 100 every time. Also, EVERYTHING is so much cheaper along our route. Even...

    Disneyland June 2019/Grad Nights

Playing with the calendar it looks like the absolute best I can do is to head out on Route 66 on april 27 and we'd end up spending May 7-9 at Disneyland. Those are all weekdays and looking at the schedule from previous years it SEEMS like early on they only do grad nights on the weekends. So...

    Disneyland June 2019/Grad Nights

It's so hard to decide. We want nothing more than to AVOID STAR WARS LAND. I have no interest in it or the crowds it will bring. I actually make the schedule for my daughter's school (what a job perk, right?!?) so I have some wiggle room on that. My husband's job is the tricky part, he has to...

    Disneyland June 2019/Grad Nights

How late into June with grad nights go? This year they end pretty early but last year they went longer. When will they announce dates for next year? We have to settle on dates by October the latest. Originally our trip (we are driving Route 66 and then spending a few days at DL) was going to be...

I am anxious for May 2019 dates. Any ideas when it'll happen? I know it's not exact but even an estimate?
