Are manners becoming extinct?

Honestly the fact that you use the word "promiscuity" at all makes it seem like you are against teens learning about contraceptives and being informed about safe sex. Since it's a word with a lot of negative connotations, that might be why.
I don’t think that’s what she meant. Sex used to mean something…intimacy, love, you actually cared for the person. Maybe that’s what’s been lost. I’m not sure that’s healthy emotionally.

I’m not seeing this among my kids and their peers (late teens). Are you seeing this with kids?
My kids don’t their first 12 years in daycare centres with a ton of kids. Not behind a screen.
I have seen number of older Dis posters say they don’t socialize outside their spouse.
With young kids, no. I do see it with older teens and young adults. A big part of the "incel" problem is the inability to connect in real life and there are plenty of articles about young adults facing having loneliness issues due to a lack of real life friends. I do think research is catching up to this and current elementary school kids will be better adjusted.

Maybe it’s an American thing. Not an issue here in my area in Canada at all that I see. And I’m surrounded by this age group.

Have you tried putting your kids in sports or theatre?

IKR? Maybe sex is just mindless fun to some people, and others want it to “mean something,” for reasons known only to them. Who am I to judge what someone wants out of it?
It’s so frustrating that some people just want to bash young people. All generations have their own issues and much of these observations are individual traits.

And there’s always the “no I didn’t mean my kid/:grandkid. They’re perfect “.

OP seems to have an ax to grind with younger generations for some reason.

Nope, not saying it's a bad thing. That wasn't my point at all. My original point was that social media is normalizing things and promiscuity was one of those things. What was negative about that is that social media can make it seem like it's no big deal, all the cool kids are doing it. Also many of the jokes I have seen about sex are derogatory towards women and some are just plain gross. Kids see these jokes/memes are they are forwarded to each other and it's all a big funny joke, not an adult act with adult consequences. That is what I was talking about when I said social media is normalizing sex, just as it normalizes vaping and makes it seem fun and cool and tasty fruit flavors too! Another poster was picking apart what I said and driving the point in a different direction of declining teen pregnancy rates. That was not at all what I was talking about.
I think I’ll just leave this here…

As I mentioned upthread, or maybe in a different thread, every generation thinks the past generations were squeaky clean and perfect morally.

So it isn't a bad thing but social media making it seem like it is no big deal is a problem? I'm confused.

Yeah... we probably shouldn't get into how people of minority races were treated by past generations. I'm glad those "manners" have gone extinct.

It's rather dubious of you to project that my contrasting current attitudes about talking about sex with regards to past generations' attitudes towards same translates, to you, as a desire to go back to the horrendous treatment of minorities in the past. It's beyond the pale, and you should be called out for even bringing that up. It's revolting, and a sickening and weak argument on your behalf. Shame on you.

I wasn't trying to project anything like that onto you. I was just giving another example of past generations being less than perfect morally.

Dude they're agreeing with you. Why are you always like this?

I would suggest that is shows shockingly poor manners, wouldn't you? :)
Sir(duff), I say Sir - you have offended my honor and I demand satisfaction! Actually, this reminds me to check on the threads I started but then got too busy to address, lol
