Yes... big family trip with the kids, my parents and my sister and her husband. We'll be there the week of the 19th.

I thought you had a trip soon. It's getting really close! I hope y'all have a great time and PLEASE do a trip report.

Ok I have a question- here we have white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Is semi-sweet between milk and dark or just less sweet than milk?
Some brands are introducing a hybrid milk/dark chocolate and I was wondering if that’s what you are talking about?
You’ll be back in your happy place before you know it! I hope your son can make the trip too 🤞

I guess it's dark chocolate lite, not quite as bitter and a little more sweet. It has less cacao than dark chocolate. I hope that helps. If we ever meet up I'll bring you some semi-sweet chips. We use them in recipes here.

Just a little life update before more food.

Danielle did attend the CM viewing of HEA last night and loved it. I was watching some of the live feeds on Instagram and it really got me excited to see it again. It was finally released that the Dessert parties will be open for booking on March 23rd. Crossing my fingers we're able to get it.

I'm very busy at work right now so much time for planning or playing on the internet. I'm going to be really ready for a vacation.

Michelle is getting really close to her due date and the time just keeps flying by. She asked Danielle is she wants to be in the delivery room if she's here when the baby comes. Jimmy and I will be there too. Danielle and I do not do well with blood, but since I've done this before I'm not worried about me but I am worried about her. She is trying to set up new doctors in Orlando so she has to have blood drawn. She let me know she has it set up on our no park day at 9 am so I can be there to hold her hand. I guess we won't be sleeping in to late that day. Her clinic for almost all doctors is in the Epcot parking lot. These are Disney's preferred doctors. They even have a pharmacy there. She said it looked like it was ran by Walgreens.

More Food- Monday, May 3

Today was our DHS day and we were there before rope drop.

Breakfast was at the Trolley Car Café (Starbucks). Between the 3 of us we had a bacon Gouda ciabatta, lemon iced cake, cheese Danish, diet coke, chocolate croissant, vanilla bean frapp, ham and cheese croissant, ham and swiss sandwich and iced green tea. That was a lot of food for us but we were having a very late lunch. I had the tea, chocolate croissant and ham and cheese croissant. The only thing I got a picture of was the ham and cheese croissant. It seems to be my go to at Starbucks in Disney.

The food there isn't great but it fills your belly. I did go back later that evening for a Carrot Cake Cookie that made it back home with me to be enjoyed later.

Lunch was at 50's Primetime at 2:35. This was the day we were waiting in the hot sun, trying to find some shade by Muppets when Danielle got the notification that the College Program was returning. This was right before we went into lunch.

Dennis had not been to 50's since 2004 and Danielle and I had not been since 2009. I usually really enjoy the food here but we were all just not hungry for a big heavy meal. I don't know if it was the heat, the excitement or just that our bellies were ready for something light but we all ended up getting the grilled chicken salad. It was light and hit the spot.
1678938559496.png

We did add some appetizers to help round it out. We had the crab cake, which is no longer on the menu. It was really pretty good too. We also had the Beer-Battered Onion Rings which were really good.
1678938748870.png

1678938769419.png

I've always wanted to sit at one of these tables but never have.
1678938812270.png
We had a really great waiter that had been a Disney CM for over 20 years and got his start as an International CP. Danielle was filling out her paperwork to let Disney know she wanted to come back while we were eating and he was getting into the excitement too.

I really like 50's, more than anyone else in the family. I thinks it's fun and like the homestyle food. I wish I had been up to a heavier meal, but I'm also glad we had some really good appetizers.

We did stop for a snack late in the afternoon on Sunset Boulevard. I don't remember what this was called, it was a seasonal treat but it was good. We also shared a Strawberry Lemonade Slushy.

We didn't stay until close since here was no Fantasmic to see. Our dinner was the meal at CBR that I already shared.

Here are a few of our photo pass photos.

Up next is food in Animal Kingdom.

Your HS day was so exciting especially for Danielle! I am the only one in my family that enjoys 50s Prime Time though I don’t think my youngest has ever been but he is the world’s fussiest eater so he has no desire to try it. Maybe some day we can meet there and exchange chocolate chips 😋😂
I love the photos of you all. You look amazing in your themed dress.
I laughed when I read that Danielle booked her drs appointment for a non-park day so you could hold her hand. My daughter is the same when it comes to getting work done at the dentist. Thankfully she has good teeth and rarely needs anything other than her checkups.

I think that Cadbury’s have brought out a new bar that meets that criteria. It’s called “dark milk” and marketed as an adult chocolate bar for eating as is.
My local supermarket has an “international aisle” and yesterday I found Hershey kisses in there but they still don’t have my favourite American sweet the Tootsie roll 😭. I guess it’s just another excuse to go back to WDW :rotfl:

It’s called “dark milk” and marketed as an adult chocolate bar for eating as is.

The Cadbury dark milk is close to semi-sweet chips, but Cadbury's is creamier. Think more like a dark chocolate bar. Or, I know in Sainsbury they have Belgium chocolate chips, I'd say those are closer.

If you want some American goodies, let me know and I can send you some! We have American stores that I use to fulfill our peanut butter and treat cravings, and I can go through British mail. :rotfl:

I love this idea!

Thank you! It was so comfortable and had pockets.

Funny you should mention dentist, Danielle just recently finished several dental appointments. She had not been in awhile and had to gave cavities filled over 3 appointments. She Facetimed me after all of them to calm her down before she tried to drive back to her apartment. She did come close to passing out a few times. :scared1:

You'll have to try "dark milk" and let me know. I've always heard the chocolate over there is much better than here. I'll add Tootsie rolls to your list of treats needed when we meet.

Aw ok I think I’ve got it. Truthfully I prefer our chocolate to American chocolate but I think that’s likely in part because it’s what I’m used to (and no doubt less healthy 😂).
If you want some American goodies, let me know and I can send you some! We have American stores that I use to fulfill our peanut butter and treat cravings, and I can go through British mail. :rotfl:
You are too kind but I’d likely turn into something the size of a house if I had ready access. :scared1::rotfl2:I do love Reese peanut butter/chocolate treats and thankfully we can get them here in the supermarket 😋
I love this idea
Me too 🥰
Funny you should mention dentist
What are our daughters like. :rotfl:

I think ours has a higher fat content and tastes richer than yours and melts differently in my mouth but let’s be honest I am not about to turn down anyone’s chocolate 🍫 :rotfl2:

Awww... still needs her mama. :)
Breakfast was at the Trolley Car Café (Starbucks).
Nope. I won't go there if I have any other option. I go to Disney to get away from the norm. But I certainly don't mind if others enjoy it. :)

Now yer talkin'!

Nothing wrong with that. You probably had a smile on your face the whole time. :)

Too bad. Sounds good.

I love those onion rings! Sooo good!

I don't think I have either... been close, but... don't think so.

Looks interesting. Was it sweet or savoury?

Great shot of you guys. :thumbsup2
Nice photo of Danielle. She's been posting nice ones on her Insta, too.

I saw that on her Instagram. Looked good!
Thank you! I like when she posts so I can see it too.

Nice. Good luck!

I'll take all the luck I can get.

How is she doing?

Better this week. Not so good 2 weeks ago. She needs to take better care of herself.

That might be interesting... Or not.

If she's there I'm sure we'll have stories to tell.

Awww... still needs her mama. :)

Sometimes she does. She needs to have her wisdom teeth out too. Not sure how she's going to manage that. They're impacted, but not bothering her yet.

But you have to go there to get the carrot cake cookie.

Nothing wrong with that. You probably had a smile on your face the whole time. :)

Yes we did. Disney does a pretty good Caesar dressing.

Too bad. Sounds good.

I was very disappointed to see it gone.

I love those onion rings! Sooo good!

Yes they are. I would get them again. Presentation is pretty cute too.

Looks interesting. Was it sweet or savoury?

it was both. The pretzels added the savory.

Great shot of you guys. :thumbsup2

Thank you!

Nice photo of Danielle. She's been posting nice ones on her Insta, too.

Yes she has! Hopefully we'll get more.

She got to try the new Woody's BBQ place but they weren't allowed to take pictures. She was on shift so she was paid to eat.

I'll take all the luck I can get.
I'm sure you'll let us know. :)

Oh dear. Tell her I said "Hi" when you talk to her next.
If she's there I'm sure we'll have stories to tell.
::yes::

"yet" seems to be the operative word here...
But you have to go there to get the carrot cake cookie.
Oh! That's the only place that carries it?
Hmmm... that changes things.

Yes and... yes!

I do not know about this. Huh! I'll have to do some checking. :)

Sounds like time is really flying for you, so busy!! Exciting that the new baby will be here soon.

Our family LOVES Primetime, and it's the one restaurant we return to every trip. I had it scheduled for Rob & I in April, but have to ditch it because I was able to get Roundup Rodeo BBQ!! I'm super excited to get to try it, but I'll miss the Pot Roast I usually get, too. LOL Guess I'll have to go back :)

I'm sure you'll let us know. :)

Today was the day! Update coming up.

Oh dear. Tell her I said "Hi" when you talk to her next.

Michelle says "Hi" too!

"yet" seems to be the operative word here...

That is so true. I didn't know I was having trouble with my wisdom teeth until they were impacted and infected.

Oh! That's the only place that carries it?
Hmmm... that changes things.

You Must go there for the carrot cake cookie.

I do not know about this. Huh! I'll have to do some checking. :)

It officially opened today so there's lots of information out.

It really is going toooo fast.

I can understand why you ditched Primetime. I want to try Woody's Roundup too. Sounds like we both need to go back.

Good News/Bad News
Today was the day HEA Dessert parties opened. No one knew what time for sure they would open. The parties have sometimes dropped at midnight and sometimes at 6 am eastern time zone. Just to be safe I stayed up to 11 pm (central time zone) just to make sure if they dropped. They did not drop at that time so I went to bed and did not sleep well. I kept dreaming that they did drop and I was missing it. The 4:50 alarm went off way too early. They did drop at 5:59 am. I really wanted the post party on Thursday the 20th but I never saw anything available. I check all day long. I ended up reserving the post party on the 19th for Danielle and I. I didn't wake Dennis up but did check with him before I went to work to make sure he didn't want to go, because it was still showing the post party on the 19th availability. He confirmed he really didn't want to go for "that price". We have Epcot planned for that day with a 6pm dinner at Biergarten. Looks like Danielle and I will be taken the monorail to MK after dinner and Dennis can go back to POR and sleep off his food coma. It wasn't what I wanted but I'm ok with it now. I won't be going out with a bang on our last night but I would still like to go back to MK after Hoop Dee Doo. MK is my favorite park and I can never have enough time there. I will have to make some changes to my outfit planning. I almost forgot, Disney made changes to the CM block-out calendar and opened up most of the week we're there so we will be able to hop back to MK for the HEA party on Wednesday.
That was the last thing I was waiting on so now I need to start putting everything together and start doing some of my "to dos" for before the trip. I also need to put together Easter Baskets for the Grandkids and Danielle. I'm not mailing her the stuff for her basket, she'll just have to get it a week late.
More Food- Tuesday, May 4th

We started Tuesday in Animal Kingdom. I grabbed a Pongu Lumpia -Pineapple cream cheese spring roll after we rode FOP. This was the first time I had this and really liked it.
1679620978067.png
We had a very light breakfast since we had an ADR for Yak & Yeti for lunch. I had had no luck getting an ADR through Disney but did when I called them directly and used my Landry's card. We had a great waiter who suggested the Pot Stickers Seared and Firecracker Shrimp. Both were really good.
1679621305877.png
1679621331983.png
We cleaned these plates and started on our entrees.

Danielle had the Chicken Tikka Masala - boneless chicken marinated in yogurt and freshly ground herbs cooked in a traditional Masala sauce, jasmine rice with garlic naan bread.

1679621577399.png

If you look to the right you can see Dennis' entre. He had the Grilled Kobe Beef Burger-10 oz grilled American Kobe beef burger, sesame-soy mayonnaise, crispy fries: topped with choice of ****ake mushroom & scallion compote or Asian slaw. I'm pretty sure he went with the mushrooms. The only other photo I have is really blurry.

I had the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp- 10 oz CAB Marinated Flat Iron Steak, Tempura fried shrimp, stir-fried vegetables, Yum Yum sauce an Jasmine rice.
1679621858645.png
We all enjoyed our meals. I know Danielle didn't even put in dent in hers. I think I ate most of mine and of course Dennis had a happy plate. There was no room for dessert. I used the $25 credit I had with my Landry's card and we waddled back out.
Before leaving the park I got my Dole Whip with Rum. This has become my go to treat to cool off with in the AK.
1679622126958.png
We also like sitting in the shaded area right next to he Tamu Tamu stand.

We left AK in the early afternoon and went back to CBR to cool off, rest and change. We then headed back out to Epcot to try some more Flower and Garden treats. We entered the park on the Skyliner so we started in France. Danielle and I split the Carmel Beignet and the Tarte aux Oignons. They were both just ok. The Beignet was really sweet.
1679622510650.png

1679622534184.png

We spent some time looking at all the topiaries. We enjoyed some live music and road the Three Caballeros. When we came back around World Showcase I stopped for a Honey-Peach Freeze with Blueberry Vodka at The Honey Bee-stro. This was really good. I think we had lost Dennis by this point. He had gone back to the resort.

1679622950035.png

We kept going back around towards the Skyliner and stopped in Canada at Northern Bloom for the Beef Tenderloin Tips, Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce and Whipped Potatoes with Garden Vegetables. This was really good and I would get it again.

1679623167872.png

I forgot to mention that we did stop in Germany and get Dennis some Carmel Corn. Danielle wanted to try the Maple corn in Canada so that was our last stop. It was getting close to closing time so we sat down the eat it. I'm sure it's usually really good but I think she got the bottom of the pot and it was burned and a lot of kernels.

We called it quits after that and headed back to the resort.

Looking back at the list of the food I wanted to try, I did not even put a dent in it. Another reason we keep going back.

Today was the day! Update coming up.
popcorn::
Michelle says "Hi" too!
:goodvibes
That is so true. I didn't know I was having trouble with my wisdom teeth until they were impacted and infected.
Ouch. That couldn't have been overly pleasant.
You Must go there for the carrot cake cookie.
Yes ma'am. :)
hey did not drop at that time so I went to bed and did not sleep well. I kept dreaming that they did drop and I was missing it.
Oh, I've had those nights. Awful. :(
Dennis can go back to POR and sleep off his food coma.
It wasn't what I wanted but I'm ok with it now. I won't be going out with a bang on our last night
But at least you did get a party one night. :)
MK is my favorite park and I can never have enough time there.
::yes::
We started Tuesday in Animal Kingdom. I grabbed a Pongu Lumpia -Pineapple cream cheese spring roll after we rode FOP. This was the first time I had this and really liked it.
I tried that last time... it was pretty good, but I don't feel the need to rush back for another.
We had a great waiter who suggested the Pot Stickers Seared and Firecracker Shrimp. Both were really good.
ooohhh... those sound great.
choice of ****ake mushroom
:lmao:
Way to go DISboards editor.
I had the Hibachi Steak and Shrimp- 10 oz CAB Marinated Flat Iron Steak, Tempura fried shrimp, stir-fried vegetables, Yum Yum sauce an Jasmine rice.
Out of the three meals, this is the one I'd pick. Easily.
Before leaving the park I got my Dole Whip with Rum. This has become my go to treat to cool off with in the AK.
Nope. I'll pass on the rum, thanks.
Danielle and I split the Carmel Beignet
That sounds good. I like sweet, so maybe??
I stopped for a Honey-Peach Freeze with Blueberry Vodka at The Honey Bee-stro. This was really good.
That sounds really good.
stopped in Canada at Northern Bloom for the Beef Tenderloin Tips, Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce and Whipped Potatoes with Garden Vegetables. This was really good and I would get it again.
Good to know. I think last time I was there, I didn't bother with that one. Might have to change my mind.
I forgot to mention that we did stop in Germany and get Dennis some Carmel Corn.
mmm... I keep forgetting to do that!
Danielle wanted to try the Maple corn in Canada so that was our last stop. It was getting close to closing time so we sat down the eat it. I'm sure it's usually really good but I think she got the bottom of the pot and it was burned and a lot of kernels.
:(
Well, that's not okay. And from my home!
Looking back at the list of the food I wanted to try, I did not even put a dent in it. Another reason we keep going back.
::yes::

Nothing like the fun of planning a Disney Trip.

"You will need to have reservations to do... well, in 2023, literally everything!

"When can I make those reservations?"

"Well, some at 60 days out, some at 7 am the day of, some in between those times. And they may be available in the middle of the night or early morning. Good luck! You're going to need it!"

I'm glad you managed to find something that works out for you to get a little more MK time in.
