We closed 2/27 so hopefully we are right behind you. The wait is painful! 😂

I'm watching and refreshing my email like a crazy person (waiting for new membership info to arrive -- practically packing bags for a trip on points to come). Disney Account Member Services pops up in my email, and just as I'm going nuts I realize it was just the "New Sign In To Your Account" message. That was me. Oh, the pain lol. (On a happier note, the ROFR and Disney times so far have been Amazing - not as fast as Direct, but nothing like the six to eight weeks it used to take!! Definitely worth it now I'm near the finish line.)

Still waiting my closing docs! It’s been a week today since we passed ROFR and these days seem to be going so slow 😂

New member, closed on 2/14, deed recorded same day. I’m seeing many others after this date have received membership email. We have not - our last name is commonly misspelled and it is in my email. Who would I reach out to if we don’t receive next week? I know we aren’t past the given timeline but I don’t see anyone recently waiting even 2 weeks and we are on day 18.

I would call your Escrow and ask when Escrow sent the info to DVC Member Administration. If they sent it more than 10 days ago, I'd call MA and ask if they received it? (407) 566-3800 ?

My timeline is very similar to yours and my deed recorded on the same day. Disney emails you when "contract is showing on membership", correct? Thanks and congratulations!

I think if a NEW membership you receive an email with a "code", and two hours (in my case, to the minute lol) receive the new membership number. You go to the www.disneyvacationclub.com website and enter those. Sadly, your points will not come for a while - you can call membership to check, in my case they said check back tomorrow, I chatted the next day and they added the points while I waited.

If you have an EXISTING membership you are adding the new contract to - I'm not sure, but had heard it appears in your list of contracts if you check your profile. I don't know if you get an email too or not. My guess is if you are super patient the points will turn up on their own, but once I saw the contract on my profile, I would probably call to get them added. I'm not known for my patience ;)

When you say the points don't come for a while....does that mean you can't try to book a future stay until they show up? About how long does that typically take?

Great. Thanks! Mine will be a new membership, and I will also be booking a Christmas trip.

You cannot book a trip with the "new" points until they are showing in your account. I don't know how long they take if you'd don't call. Mine were available (by calling) two days after my membership number and access code arrived by email.

(For new members) - Will you also need to wait until your UY starts to book or can you book a trip as long as the date of the trip falls into the UY?

Short answer - you will rarely want to wait until your Use Year starts to "book" trips - you can book your Home Resort 11 months in advance (ie: on 3/1/2023 you have the opportunity to book 2/1/2024) and any resort at 7 months. But you'll want to review some of the terms like Banking, Borrowing, Transferring, and OneTimeUse points - and be sure you understand Cancellation rules.

As above, you can always book 11 months from checkin date at your home resort, 7 months for non-home. UY only affects what points can be used, not what date you can book.

Okay, good. I was worried that if you were a new member, things might be different. Phew.

New members aren't treated any differently from old members. It's that resale/direct issue that makes the difference! (Which for the record I disagree with, but that's not for me to determine.)
