Hey there DISboards CC crew! Long time, no see... I know I've been keeping up with my Southwest updates, but aside from that, it's been tough to keep up with the thread.

I've been crazy busy lately in a good way! I'm killing it in my new role at the bank, and more importantly, I enjoy what I do even more than my prior role.

If you've followed along with my updates this year, we bought a new van and a new house. I hit a major new FIRE milestone. We took our annual trip to WDW in January, as well as our annual visits to Captiva and Myrtle Beach in the summer. And the big news I posted in September is that Baby Boy SouthFayetteFan is on his way. That should happen within the next 2 weeks! As a result of the new baby's January arrival, we moved our Disney trip up to November (from our typical January) which resulted in TWO WDW trips this year! In the midst of this, I have kept up with my churning and recently grabbed my 125th career CC as a churner (combined between 2 players).

I know we're approaching the end of the year, and that also coincides with the DISchurners thread reaching their 6-month refresh mark. I'll work to get everything setup for 2022 here very soon! Hope everybody is doing well!

Good to hear from you! Do we need to do another baby weight spreadsheet lol? Glad you’re loving your new job!

There’s no where like home! While we had a terrific time in PR and the cruise, we all agreed 11 days was too much. My poor mom and sister, I Facetimed them multiple times so I could see Puggles. Hopefully he is ready to come home tomorrow.

We were talking to our taxi driver on the way to the airport and had mentioned our cruise and he said things are about to get very slow again and PR is halting cruises from their ports beginning on Sun. When will this nightmare end.
Glad you are going to be reunited with your pup! And ugh on cruises. I'm hoping that while cases are sky high right now, deaths will remain low because omicron is mild and we will realize life needs to go on. But really this is unreal--two weeks to bend the curve?

So I just realized that some restaurants near us use door dash. I have a CSR. Any chance I’d be able to use the $60 credit before years end? I don’t know how quickly the charges post???

I have used it at Hyatt Place MKE. I just looked and it is available on the website, just not obvious. You have to keep scrolling right among the reservation types to find it.
thanks...sadly my local airport Hyatt doesn't offer it.....

Congratulations on all of it!

I come on here (too) frequently just to read, and see what y'all have to share (it's so exciting) -I actually got to travel a bit last October....but my travel anxiety is kicking in again..... am I alone? Is Jan/Feb a foolish time to plan a trip? I want to hop on a plane (with my excellent mask) and go somewhere warm! I wonder, how many are traveling with kiddos under the age of 7-8?

Any suggestions for Audible books to purchase? I am swimming in Plat entertainment credits.
We listened to Will by Will Smith on the drive to our Christmas vacation and both DH and I enjoyed it.
I follow SharonSaysSo on Instagram and her book club books sound amazing so I got those, The Light of Days and The Devil in the White City.
i really enjoy when the authors narrate their books: Becoming by Michelle Obama, Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, A Promise Land by Barack Obama.

I was reading on the site that shall not be mentioned that Singapore Air has first class saver seats available for flights to and from Frankfurt. I did some searching yesterday and found a flight from JFK to FRA on September 18th (I was planning on a Sorrento, Florence and Rome trip around this time) available for waitlist in first class! Since I had the points available from our thrice cancelled Maldives trip I was able to put myself on the waitlist. Since Singapore allows you to book more than 1 seat on waitlist I also booked a flight on April 8th.

If I get off the waitlist I will fly from Toronto to JFK, then JFK to FRA. Once in FRA there are a few flights on Lufthansa to Naples (which I will book once I have a seat!). From Naples I will hire a private car to Sorrento. Plan is to spend 3 nights / 4 days in Sorrento as a base to explore the Amalfi coast, then take the train from Naples to Florence for 3 or 4 nights, then train to Rome for 3 or 4 nights.

I have a flight booked on AC on September 19th from Toronto to Montreal, Montreal to Brussels and Brussels to Rome as a backup (booked over a month ago). This was the best booking that I could secure on miles. Coming back (on AC on October 1st) is Rome to Vienna (23h layover, which is fine as I will spend a day in the city), then Vienna to Toronto. Since AC went with dynamic award pricing it has been difficult to get seats in biz class on direct flights.

I'm not traveling until our May trip to London and Edinburgh. I figure I can wait a few more months. I might take a quick weekend trip to NYC or Chicago in early April, but will wait to book anything.

All awesome news! Seems like the baby gave you the gift of 2 WDW trips in one year, haha!

BTW, what do you mean by "career" CC?

My tile guy is meticulous and very intetrested in making sure I'm very happy with his work and how everything turns out. I think he may never leave though. Yesterday I thought he'd have the shower finished (floor is down but not grouted) and was so excited to go peak when he left for the day. I swear it was like there were only 4 new pieces of tile put up.

And I need to get all of this money out of my account before I fill out dd's FAFSA form.

Don't forget the Chase $10 GoPuff credits for each card. Buy a gift card for each and you can get something of value after a few months. I keep forgetting to do it... should probably set a calendar reminder...
I didn't know about this! I don't see anything about it on the Chase site... how do I know if my cards are eligible?

Just want to double check my understanding and math. Amex Biz Plat airline benefit.
I can get 35% back in points for any airline when booking Biz and First, but also when booking economy for my selected airline.
There is an AA flight for 15,000 MRs, so I would get back 5,250. MRs, correct? Making the ticket 9,750 MRs.
