Yeah, I think it's not so quick unlike FlexPass was before- there's a server update issue on the backend.

Will have a go at it on Oct 31 and can report back.

FYI there is a code in the magic key gift box thing for 2000 points to movie insiders. Be sure to use it because we were able to get $20 worth of gift cards with it per pass. (Or other physical rewards if you are into those. I was surprised at the value given, baby yoda funko for 400 points was a standout.)

I have not been able to do this. I am always maxed out on my reservations and have found you have to wait until after midnight on the day of your current reservation to make the next one. I was trying to make a reservation on my last visit for a future date and it would not let me, even though I was already in the park.

I was able to the one time that I tried. That day, I arrived at the park around 11AMish and was able to make a reservation when I finished eating lunch. From the reservation confirmation email, it was at 2:16PM. I was still able to park hop and return to the parks later that day.

It's possible that you can't do the next reservation immediately after entering the turnstiles but have to wait for a server update. Hopefully, we'll get more data points on this.

Similar experience here- had all 6 reservations booked, and then entered park around 1130AM on a Sunday. Was able to book another reservation that afternoon around 4PM with my newly freed reservation. It's definitely possible, but perhaps not instantaneous as it had been with the old Flex Pass after scanning. Will be interesting to learn how many minutes/hours it takes for the system to update...

I went to the parks today to upgrade my park hopper to a Magic Key at the ticket booths (which took over an hour but that's another story).

After my transaction was complete, I was able to book a reservation for today and enter DCA around 10am. I was able to make six additional reservations by noon (I didn't try earlier so I'm not sure if I could have done it right after entering the turnstiles). Right now, my reservations page shows seven reservations (since today's is still active).

Very inconsistent. I was able to make a reservation after being in the parks for a couple hours. I've had a couple times where my app showed that the I had an "upcoming reservation" even though I had scanned into the parks already and in one case, it was the day after the "upcoming" reservation. I think these things take time to iron out. Hoping for things to become predictable soon.

I got mine on Thursday. They are shipping from San Diego. I’m guessing they are going out in daily batches.

5 MK holders here, 1 welcome box came today. Although the label on the box shows a return address of San Diego, the online tracking info from USPS says it came from Disney Vacation Club in San Bernardino.

I was intending to make my new reservation immediately after going through the turnstile, but I forgot. However, I remembered at 10:50am (8:00 open), and was able to make a new reservation.

I really think it's Disney just adjusting levels (when same day pops up), can't be from other Magic Keyholders since we'd have to cancel 11:59pm last night- and if no cancel, then Disney assumes we'll show up today.

It could be more indirectly related. I would assume they would let in as many MK holders as they think they could manage which is based on staffing levels. And the staffing levels are probably based on full price ticket holders?

I apologize if this has been asked before (I tried searching and couldn't find an answer), but when the Magic Key Access Calendar shows availability for a given day, how do you know how many spots are available? For instance, let's say I have a family of 4, I'm looking at the Magic Key Access Calendar, and I see availability on Jan 10. How do I know if there is availability for my whole family, or if there are fewer than 4 spots available?

You don’t until you go to book the reservation.

That's what I was afraid of. That's very unsatisfying. So there's no way to know from just a quick glance at the calendar. Ugh. In any event, thank you for the quick response.

Probably the rain this morning made people decide not to go (day ticket purchases). We had a reservation and drove halfway there before we changed our minds and came back home due to heavier rain than anyone wanted to deal with. We're gonna get dinged for no showing today, but I don't care. I made a reservation for tomorrow instead.

I really wish we could cancel reservations same day. No doubt another key holder would have picked up the reservations because it has turned into a nice afternoon.
