Can we have a thread where people just post hopeful or positive things about their trip planning?

I’m planning our first big trip as a blended family and am just over the moon happy about it. Picturing standing in front of the castle with our famiy watching a fireworks show - Any fireworks show - makes me tear up

I have been to WDW many times with my now grown up kids. Planning a trip with my sister-in-law who has two young children who will be 6 and 2 at the time of our trip. Although my family always has an amazing time going as all adults, it is going to be so
magical to see Disney again thru the eyes of little children. We plan to do the princess breakfast in Norway in EPCOT and see Mickey Mouse and friends at a character breakfast at Topolinos at the Riveria.

My absolute favorite thing at WDW is watching the nighttime fireworks show at MK. So magical!

a long time ago, ( I've been on these boards for over 20 years) this forum was a very fun place! we swapped ideas, and helped each other plan. We got excited when a newbie was planning their first trip and we couldn't wait to assist them. There was even a fabulous thread of al the little unknown things about Disneyworld that fascinated us and everyone contributed to it. In fact, it was so good, we tried to recreate it when the DIS crashed and lost the posts. ....and then social media got the upper hand, and the way people freely trashed things on facebook and instagram also became common here, and it became an invitation for some to spew out all kinds of negativity. Some started revealing all the secret "magic" that helped to wow guests, so that there were few surprises left. Even now I cringe when someone bursts the happy bubble of those planning their first trip. Its too bad, and I've walked away from these boards for months at a time because of it.
But hope springs eternal, and there are still folks on these boards who will happily help keep the excitement alive.

And this post is positive how?

OP, we have our, I dunno 40th? 50th? trip coming up in December. We haven't been since December of 2019 and it feels like it's been an eternity! DH and I were just joking about how every picture of us on our next trip is going to be us in tears...walking into the lobby of BLT....Seeing the castle again...hearing the "bush music"...catching a glimpse of Mickey (or even better, DONALD!). I swear we're going to be big blubbering messes every minute of the trip! We are beyond excited, changes be danged! Even if all we did was grab a pretzel and sit on a bench and people watch for a week we'd be happy!

I can't wait to get my hands on a Cookie Num Num or the triple chocolate salted pecan cookie at Kringla Bakery, or my beloved peanut butter pie at Contempo Cafe.

I love that peanut butter pie!

Is today your first on the internet :crazy2:

Seriously, I agree with you. There are numerous threads on these boards I don't frequent any more (or never open) because of the sheer volume of negativity. There are things to complain about and many people will always react negatively to change. But I don't come here for that. Yeah, you hate Genie. You hate the reduced perks. You want your magical express. I lament those changes too, but what's the point in just reading posts of everyone piling on. I prefer to focus on the positive.

Speaking of which, my family is headed back for a long weekend at Epcot next month. Looking forward to sampling mucho food and wine festival treats, the killer whale on Soarin, seeing impressions of 1980 France, dodging that reckless truck on Test Track, and smiling at the glittering sidewalk (if it still exists) near SpaceShip Earth at night

We've been going to WDW every year since 2008 when my kids were 8 and 7. Unfortunately we didn't get to go last year or this year and we're missing it terribly. Kids are now 22 and 20 and in serious relationships and we are going in January and taking the boyfriends! We're super excited and can't wait to finally see Galaxy's Edge, especially as the guys are both huge Star Wars fans. Things will be different but I know we'll have a great time just being back and experiencing all of it together. Honestly, I could go and never ride a ride and still be happy just to be there.

We are also going to Universal, and I'm looking forward to riding Jurassic Park River Adventure, since it was closed on our first trip and I LOVE Jurassic Park. I'm still trying to work up the courage for Velocicoaster haha. We also have some big Harry Potter fans and can't wait to ride Hagrid's!

I ordered a cake to be delivered to our resort and I’m looking forward to attending a dessert party for the first time. Kids loved riding the skyliner (we encountered a CM who was dancing and letting people on; now you can recognize CMs instantly in MDE) and that was a ride in and of itself. We’re also looking forward to enjoying buffets again - Boma and Ohana and enjoying the food and wine festival. We usually print a DFBguide festival map and pencil in our favorites and plan (flexible but more to avoid runaround).

I had planned on *not* going to Walt Disney World this year and planned my first visit to Universal in many years. I discovered that there is a Christmas After Hours party at Magic Kingdom while I’m there so I booked it and am very excited that even if it was for one night I will get to the World this year.

I'm very excited for our granddaughter's first visit. She will be 5 months old at the time. The rest, not so much.

Lol, people still feel the need to bring negativity to every thread. Never changes.

My last trip (over the 50th) was probably my all time favorite trip. I'm going again in January (rD trip), this time solo, and I can't wait!!

All 4 of my trips over the last year or so have been nothing but amazing.

We are going to have a great trip next week. It is fathers/daughters trip. Our two daughters have known each other since they were 4 year olds. They are in mid 20s now. My buddy and I took them to many father/daughter dances at school and we said let's do a WDW trip together.

We have ADRs for Oga, Brown Derby, Tiffins, Cali Grill and Citricos. We are staying at BLT. We are so excited. The girls have been stalking all the bloggers about what 50th merchandise they want.

Just booked our first DVC welcome home trip! Couldn’t be more thrilled.
Congrats! Hope you enjoy DVC as much as we do. Despite all the grumblings you read about DVC, we continue to be very happy owners.
