We’ve decided not to go to wdw tomorrow. Ds started feeling sick last night out of nowhere. He had a fever of 103 and throwing up. Today he still had a fever but no other symptoms besides lots of crying and not wanting to eat. An at home test for Covid came back negative. We took him to the doctor and he tested negative for strep, flu, and UTI. Their Covid test won’t come back for a few days. I’m not too upset because I was never that excited about remy anyway. I just thought it would be fun for Ds to ride. I have to call Disney tomorrow and cancel our hotel for the one night.

Thanks! I hope he wakes up feeling better. I don’t think they tested him for RSV but they did check his throat and it was red. He hasn’t had any coughing so maybe that’s why they didn’t test him? I’m not sure.

We are staying at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort in Albuquerque this weekend. I was talking to some random people on one of our hiking trips asking about what he had so far and what we were doing next. I mentioned we were checking into this resort next. He said they were just there a few weeks ago and he said we would really enjoy it. He said when they were there some famous guy was there everyone was talking about and he had no clue who it was, some Adam guy. Then went through several botched last names. Lol. I’m like oh Adam Levine you know, Maroon 5. He was like yes that would make sense since Maroon 5 was playing in the area that weekend. I’m like if you saw a guy all tatted up then that was him. After we left the people DH says who did they say they saw? I said Adam Levine. DH says who? Lol But darn for me, I don’t especially like Maroon 5 but I sure wouldn’t mind seeing him at the pool. Lol

I can confirm that Adam is indeed covered with tats. (Mind you, I am not a fan of them.) It was an excellent concert and the rain stopped so even better! I booked a hotel for the night rather than making the long trek home.

I need to learn how to do this. Use CIC to buy Visa cards at Staples, get 5x UR, transfer to CSP and redeem at 1.25 for PYB? Can I ask if your school uses FACTs for tuition? I have one school using that and the other only allows ACH from checking.

You got it! Yes, we use FACTS. My school takes any CCs whereas I think others do not. It is super simple in FACTS.

My daughter’s school used to only allow ACH from checking, but started accepting CCs this year (with a fee, of course). But they only take MasterCard gift cards, not VISA (weird, I know).
You probably know this, but you won’t be using PYB on the actual staples charge.

It's worked for me doing $0.66. I've done it about 20 times now. I had never heard that Amazon loads had to be over $1. If I had heard that I wouldn't have even tried the .66. I just tried to find the highest amount I could towards the tuition.

How old is the CIP? You could PC to a CIC that you can then buy fee free VGCs and MCGCs to use.

I always empty my gc on Amazon no matter the amount. Not sure the smallest I've done but never had a problem.

I think the smallest Amazon load has to be $.50. Now that I know you can use leftover giftcards at Target and WM, I'll probably start doing that.

Just to be able to completely clean out the gift card. Amazon is one of the few places that makes it easy to choose the exact amount being used.

Depends on if you have a use for the points. I got the sub for what I needed the points for and then sock drawered it. I'd rather the UR or MR. But they have some decent transfer partners.

Remy at Disneyland Paris is such a magical ride. We still talk about it. I wonder if the queue will be anything like M&M Runaway Railway, in that you can sort of rejoin your group? Or, Since it's a whole new queue and area, perhaps that will keep DS busy?

I would just add the caveat that it is anything but magical for anyone who gets motion sick! I kept my eyes shut for most of the time and then was queasy for most of the remainder of the day.
Just a warning for anyone else who suffers from the same affliction!

Review on a travel hacked weekend. We spent the long weekend in San Francisco. It’s a great city and we enjoy coming back from time to time.

We stayed at the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental.This hotel is bookable with IHG points earned on the IHG card, paid through the UR portal or transferred to IHG from UR and also with various airline vacation packages.

When we checked in, we were offered a paid upgrade from our 4th floor Junior suite to a 1 bedroom corner suite on the 14th floor for $100 per night. I asked if there were better offers for platinum members. The clerk checked with the manager and we were offered the same but for $80 per night. Top of the Mark is on the 19th floor so I figured the view would be much better from the 14th over the 4th and we took the upgrade. If you have a vehicle, be prepared to pay quite a bit for valet each night as there is no self parking area. Public transportation is an available option.

Our room had an amazing view and was very clean. However, it was very dated and in desperate need of an update.

Top of the Mark opened back up this weekend and we enjoyed a drink at the end of the evening. We were asked to show our vaccination cards and ID to enter. This seems to be the norm for dining establishments as we needed to bring our cards with us and show them.

There’s lots to do and tons of amazing places to eat. We visited the Walt Disney Family museum and Alcatraz this trip. I finally rode on a Cable Car and had my first In-N-Out burger.
