Wife's pregnant, which attractions are safe?

We found this article https://www.buildabettermousetrip.com/pregnant-at-disney-world with a nice list of safe attractions for my wife, who will be about 5-5.5 months along for this Thanksgiving trip to WDW. Our Dr, when we asked, is not familiar with WDW rides. Please weigh in on possibly riding:

MK:
Definitely agree with the no go list for BTMR, Space. The following listed as no's we're wondering if they might be yes'
7DMT - seems like it's pretty mild on the few little drops?
Splash - the 1 drop is too much.

EP:
agree that TT is a no. We wouldn't ride MS anyhow. Sort of surprised FEA was ok in this article.

HS:
wow, can't ride anything except TSM - which does kind of slam into your gut a little when it jerks you around between games.
SDD - pretty mild/smooth coaster, but I guess this is a no.
And I suppose both SR and RotR will be no's

AK:
like HS, nearly all of the rides are not suitable. However, the following that were listed as avoid:
Safari - I think this is ok
FoP - I think this is ok too - more concerned with the amount of room on the cycle.

This really is a question for you and your doctor and not something I recommend basing off of anything you read here. Beyond saying I'd feel pretty safe with It's a Small World - I'd really for every one of the rides you mentioned only go by doctor. What is right for one person may not be right for all.

I went while pregnant and did not do any coasters, Splash, or the Safari.

This would be a good thing to discuss with your doctor.

This is such a personal thing, but here's my take on it:

MK
Splash: The risk is all from the sudden drop at the end. This is really down to your wife's risk tolerance. The water at the bottom does give it a "smoother" landing and it doesn't have the g-forces and rattling aspect of a rollercoaster. I wouldn't feel comfortable, personally, but I could see how others might be. So this is a borderline one.
7DMT: I don't think I would do this one. The lap bar fits down really snugly on your tummy, and the cars can swing a bit side to side so it does create a bit more oomph on the turns than you might expect given the size of the coaster.

EP
FEA is basically the same as Pirates of the Caribbean: a slow water ride with one slightly faster bit. I wouldn't hesitate to do this pregnant--I've seen people carrying newborn babies on it even!

HS
I think TSM should be fine--the spinning is quite tame and I have never been slammed into anything on it.
I would not do SDD--it is a fairly fast coaster.
Smugglers Run--the reports are that this can be VERY rough the entire ride if you get inexperienced pilots. I would not do this.
RoTR--no. just no.

AK
I think FOP is on the list not because the ride is too rough, but because you are pressed forward by restraints sandwiching your back and your front with your stomach pushed up hard against the surface of ride "bike", and I don't see how that could be workable with a pregnant belly (heck, I find it VERY uncomfortable just against my regular belly).
I would not do Kilimajaro Safaris. It is a very rough and bumpy ride and lasts a LONG time with no safe way to get off. When I was pregnant, a dirt road that was MUCH tamer sent me to the hospital with contractions at 6 months.

Congratulations!!!!

Iavoided a lot during my pregnancies because I didn’t want a “what if”. I still had loads of fun at disney with extra treats and “sight seeing”. Talk to your dr and then decide what’s best :)

Ask the doctor another way. What sort of activities should she avoid? Then relate it to the rides.

I was just there in April at 5 months pregnant!

MK-
Avoided splash, space, 7 dwarves, barnstormer, BTMR

HS-
Skipped thus park because there really isn’t anything for a pregnant lady here ride wise

AK-
Avoided safari (its REALLY bumpy and they can stop suddenly, I’d avoid it). Actually only rode the triceratops spin here and Navi River Journey. Skipped everything else ride wise.

Epcot-
FEA was fine BUT I’d have her brace her stomach for the drop just for comfort. I was happier the second time we rode because I could anticipate and adjust. Rode everything here except Soarin (fear of heights, nothing to do with being pregnant!), and TT.

Epcot wnd MK are definitely the easiest!

Thank you everyone. I know it seems sort of selfish to even consider risking some of the maybe rides... In actuality, I think she's probably more ok with skipping all of the maybe attractions. I just feel bad for her that we booked this big star wars/christmas themed trip and she has to skip a lot of the attractions, especially at HS/AK. And we haven't really nailed down which we're avoiding yet. Believe Disney posted ST and Smuggler's as safe, but I wouldn't risk ST for instance (never been on SR yet to know).

my rule of thumb is that if youre not comfortable bringing a newborn on the ride, you shouldn't go on. anything that doesn't have a height limit is 100% fine, but if she really wants to go on splash and such, ask your doctor. rather be safe than sorry.

@Nick6300 Look it as an excuse to plan another trip in a couple years. If I end up being preggers for our trip next year, that's my mentality.

Yes. I know taking infants is probably another controversial topic. Obviously you see a lot of babies and even new-borns sometimes when they don't even have melotonin to block all that sunlight. We bought some APs for the 50th anniversary celebration before we were pregnant. But I doubt we're going to go to WDW again for a while.

What about Alien Saucer Spin? No one in my family has ridden it, so we have no experiences. When we go in Dec. my daughter will be 4 months pregnant. She will not do most of the rides but hoped to ride this with her 2 yr. old. His appreciate any thoughts.

When I asked CM, she looked it up and saw that Disney doesn't warn against riding Alien. Personally, we don't do the ride anyhow after going on it when it was new. I don't do spinning rides, even though this one is cute. My wife is sort of past the height of her nausea but I think we're fine skipping this one. But I could see this one being a bad one if battling nausea.

No safe way to get off...or go to the restroom! That’s honestly why I avoided it. I didn’t want to be stopped indefinitely with no restroom access. Because I needed a lot of restroom access when I was pregnant.

My concern with this one would be nausea. I won’t even get on it now, while NOT pregnant, because it looks rather nausea inducing. At 4 months pregnant and always feeling on the verge of losing my lunch anyway? No thanks.

That would be my rule of thumb as well. If I wouldn't bring the newborn in my arms, I would not ride it while pregnant.

It really just depends on what you are comfortable with. I was not comfortable riding any coaster so that rules out 7DMT, Splash, SDD, FoP (it rests on your stomach).

Better to be safe than sorry. I didn't want to worry while we were on vacation, especially about something so major.

bummer on FoP! I know sometimes I sort of don't let it rest - sort of sit up in my seat (after CM does his/her check and leaves that is), but don't recall it ever touching my stomach when being in normal rested position. initial thought was this is more like a movie than and not a violent simulation like ST.

My daughter rode Safari in AK at 7 months pregnant in December 2016, but she rode DIRECTLY behind the driver and said she couldn't understand what the problem could be. She rode it again this September with her 2.5 year old at the very back of the vehicle, and said she nearly bounced out and could DEFINITELY see what the problem could be! I have heard if you are very close to the front on the tamer coasters like SDD (which is VERY smooth, ) or the Safari vehicle it isn't bad. I saw lots of ladies during our September trip with the pregnancy support belt/band my daughter said she wished she had had during her WDW trip when she was pregnant. But as PP's say, better safe than sorry!
