The excursion goes out of Waianae. It would be just up the coast from Aulani.
Yes! Dolphin Excursions! We absolutely loved it, this was about 7 years ago. They had a photographer/diver on board. She took awesome underwater photos of our kids and animals. At that point, she sold us the DVD. It was a relatively small boat/small group. Have a great time!

I have prepaid for the photos and will probably get the DVD. Only 4 of the 7 will likely get in the water but we will see. I'm also planning the longer movie tours at Kualoa Ranch. I can find the 2hr UTV tour for my daughter's family on the UR site but the I can't find the Premier Movie tour on the site. I'm planning to try and call to see if it can be booked with URs.

Yes the email came from Disney after the travel documents. I got it just under 24 hours. Did you book at less than 60 days and a Disney resort?

Non-Disney resort. I am speaking to a rep and she said they get the docs from Disney and then send, which doesn't sound like how it worked for you. The document department closes at 4:30pm EST. She really doesn't know and is connecting me to a supervisor.

Do the kids have to be strong swimmers? Mine are only so-so.

I'm not going to say a word but you know what I'm thinking ----🥰
I’m pretty sure we’re all thinking...
But maybe 3ish years ago this female got a uterine infection and almost died, per the vet. Now she is spayed
Yeah, pyometra can be quite serious. I’ve seen a number of dogs die from it, especially when the owners delayed treatment
Did @calypso726 just get another day added to her trip?
Disney Dream cruise extended to Thursday because the port is not ready for the ship's return.
Best. Cruise. Ever. So jealous.
Just finished engaging in an all-out warfare style cleaning of my home after the flea treatment. Good thing it's only 1200 square feet because I'm worn out. I've basically washed everything that's a fabric in the house and vacuumed the couches and floors and mopped. So help me if I see one bug in this house (though they did say you will likely see them for another 2 weeks).
Vacuum every day. Cut a few pieces off the flea collar and throw them in the vacuum bag. Any eggs vacuumed up can hatch in the vacuum bag but will be killed by the flea collar (you can also use the flea carpet/furniture powder in the vacuum bag)

DGD will turn 7 just before our trip. She can swim fairly well but I’m planning to pack her a snorkeling vest. I got her a snorkel and mask so she can practice some before we go.

Received an email from Southwest that my December flight time had changed...If anyone has flights booked then...check for changes
Wow, irony haha! I was just trying to research this and find out the eligible flight dates. Does the email mention those?

This could possibly be a huge loophole opportunity for those with Christmas and potentially Thanksgiving flights if those holidays fall within +/- 14 day window!!

Flyertalk indicates this could be for flights 12/3 through 12/16 maybe?? I can’t find anything conclusive but with what should be 14 days on either side of that window, this again could open up some nice opportunities!

Great! That should be doable. I always follow Josh's touring plans at easyWDW dot com. He has really handy cheat sheets that have color-coded maps with what rides are FP/rope-drop priorities and really thorough itineraries that work pretty well. Plus his dining reviews are fun.

Park hours in January will probably be fairly short - our dates after President's Day weekend have the parks generally open 9 am - 8 pm. Our plan is to rope-drop whatever priority rides we can't get FPs for, do shows and anytime attractions once crowds get heavier, and then head to bed early after park close. The most challenging park will be Hollywood Studios, since both GE rides will be open by then and you can only pick 1 other ride for your Tier 1 FP. You will need to pick your priorities there and decide what rides you would be okay skipping if you need to. Thankfully the non-GE stuff will probably be a walk-on for a while after park open so you should be able to knock a bunch of stuff out. Plus, with 2 people you should be able to refresh and get more FPs once you are finished with your pre-booked 3.

We were at DL in May and really loved it. FP+ has nothing on MaxPass!

Ok, that's good info... thank you. I have to say, what little I know about FP+ makes me not love it! MP is the bomb, isn't it??

I think you could cover a lot of ground in 4 days. Epcot will sadly be in a state of disarray because of all the future plans and DHS has some really weird FP+ tiers, but I think you could still have fun. I have never been to DL (yet!), but I know there are a lot of exact copies of attractions. Maybe skip those if you have already been on them in DL? I personally wouldn't skip any park because they are all fun and unique, but something like DHS and Epcot probably won't require you being there from open to close with limited attractions. This could really be convenient if you are at POP on the Skyliner because you could take a break to relax at the resort or go to any of the Epcot resorts for a quick bite or to explore.

Stacey and I would agree that these are "must dos" MK: 3 mountains (all "different" than DL) & Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, DHS: Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, & Slinky Dog Dash, AK: Flight of Passage & Expedition Everest, and Epcot: Test Track? LOL for "big" rides.

Ok I thought maybe Stacy was your wife...

I love Stacey!! Guilty pleasure admission... I watch the old must do videos on YouTube sometimes. 🤣
....but apparently she is not!

Yes I definitely want to go for the unique ones (except, as mentioned CBJ and PeopleMover), and I am a fan of roller coasters, so I'd want to try all of those. I understand its unlikely I would get a FP for... whichever Avatar ride is the big one!

I am not too concerned about seeing SWGE- I have been to it in DL (sans ROTR, of course) but I am going back for our annual "DIS Diva" trip at the end of February and ours will be open by then so no biggie there.

So here is something weird about me.... I look at the hotel as a place to sleep when I am exhausted from the parks. I have never looked at a hotel for its amenities/pool/restaurant so I see I may have EVEN MORE research to do!

Thanks everyone, and no, my questions are not done yet! But thank you!

Maybe Stacey is @PolyRob’s wife. I don’t know much about @PolyRob 🤔 that would be amazing!! Haha 🤣 😂

What I do know is that if Disney ever removes Stacey from her channel...WE RIOT!!! 😠

If I didn't have such large point balances AND I had a viable use for the certs, I'd absolutely keep the card open. It seems like there was a little "cancel the card" bandwagon today but I think everybody here is evaluating things based on their own circumstances.

I'm glad to see somebody providing a "counter-DP" of sorts :D
I have the former SPG Biz Amex, now Bonvoy Biz. I renewed mine and it looks like I'll renew again. In the first year I saved $321 in Amex offers, and so far this year I'm just under $200. Neither amount includes the free night. As long as the offers keep coming, I'll keep the card. I did renew at the old rate, so my next renewal will be more.

All the Delta talk is REALLY intriguing me because I want to stay at BC in the spring and I do not have a discount for it yet LOL I only have 105,000 MRs so at most that would be 210,000 SkyMiles and the room I want is $2,347 on the Delta website so it probably won't work. Hoping I can accumulate more MRs and another promo is released in the future!
No Skymiles and only 60k MR, I've got some FOMO over here. But it's fine, maybe the next deal will be for me :) Kinda feeling like I should focus a little more on MRs now.

OK, new DP re: Delta Vacations promo... The rep I spoke to could not tell me if I was getting a ticket voucher or if I had to go to Will Call, so she transferred me to a supervisor (I booked an offsite hotel, not Disney like @kidsfirsttrip, and teh wording is different). The supervisor noticed I only had 1 person flying and 4 WDW tickets (at which point I wished I never called and just crossed my fingers and waited), and said that she wasn't sure if they would issue 4 WDW tickets, and if they did they would all be in my name. The name should not be an issue because they are transferable (if unused), but it is still a question mark if you will get 4 tickets if you book his way. She said she would have to check with their Disney office, which was not open. I pointed out I was bumping up against my 24 hour cancellation window and did not want to wait and chance it. I pointed out (nicely) that I was sold 4 tickets, paid for them and had received documentation, so she did some magic to make it work for me. HOWEVER this could definitely be flagged as an issue and adds uncertainty around whether or not you will get multiple tickets.

The supervisor said it should take 24-48 hours for the tickets to be issued and I would be receiving a "confirmation number" that could be used in MDE. She also said you have until 11PM central time to cancel "next day".

The supervisor said Disney has updated the way they issue tickets and as such Delta is updating their systems to accommodate, so she thinks the "mistake" (the site allowing 4 tickets for 1 traveler) could be caused by the IT update.

Yeah, can we call @calypso726 Gilligan yet? Or have her buy our lottery tickets?

Yup! Our 3 night cruise trying out concierge level for the first time got turned into a 5 night, and then a 6 night cruise. It’s going to be hard going back to cruising like a peasant again :rotfl2:

What say my WDW Experts?

I know there is no way I can see everything I want to see in one trip.
  • I am intimately familiar with DisneyLAND.
  • I am most interested in seeing the "big" rides at WDW (except maybe Space Mountain, which I hear is inferior to its DL counterpart).
  • I am not much of a show person, although I do terribly miss Country Bear Jamboree.
  • I want to ride the PeopleMover because I miss it too.
  • I have decided on NO park hoppers (one park per day only).
In your expert opinions, would it be "worth it" (I know it's subjective) to fly out there (from PHX) for only FOUR park days? One day per park?

I can get the flights (I think) for free on American with the miles I will be accumulating from CitiAA (thank you, I Love Credit Cards members).

I have a reasonable hotel quote for POP Century for 5 nights and of course I would have to buy the park tickets.

ETA: Travel party would be just me and my husband, and I am looking at early January.

Would you recommend a newbie go for that limited amount of time, or should I wait and hold out until I have at least a week or even 10 days?
I tend to plan one park per day for our family. Now that we are DVC I also include a resort day where we can hang out at the pool, visit other resorts, head to Disney Springs (I almost typed Downtown Disney lol) and shop. We love visiting all the resorts and eating at different ones. Being only 2 of you, no kids to slow you down, you'll likely get a lot done and your trip sounds just fine.

Definitely look into the resorts, you can make an entire day of just resort hopping.

THANK YOU!!!!

I was just able to book my sister's flights super cheap. I booked the lowest price offered on each day covered by points, then changed them for 0 points to the desired times. WOW!
