The one in the pink is teen Kate, and the one next to her in the purple is young Kate. I was thinking the young Kate has grown up a lot. I wonder how that will play out if they need her for the younger scenes. Young Kevin still looks young, but young Kate is looking so much more grown up.
I hardly have any stress right now
See, my eye is barely twitching lol
Agreed! I was a fan of Michael Angarano from The Stanford Prison Experiment (I have seen him only a couple of times on Will and Grace). To keep on topic on a DIS board, he was the lead in Sky High too LOL.
And yes, I also had a wicked crush on Griffin wayyyyy back when. Starting with American Werewolf in London I'm sure
Then I definitely recommend the novel Maybe in Another Life, by Taylor Jenkins Reid!! It runs the same timeline in parallel stories, based on a small decision by the main character, and you see how both choices in that moment lead to different paths over the years.
Sterling K. Brown isn’t there either, which seems weird. The girl you’re looking at is teen Kate and what strikes me is that she’s so much slimmer than in the show. It’s cool that they had all the actors from the show there. Too bad William isn’t among them. It must be her facial expression that’s throwing me off..who’s the lady in the front row with the pink dress?
Given what a different shape she is now I wonder if they’ll flashback to a crash dieting/eating disorder storyline?I noticed last week that she's already a lot taller than the boys. I expect they've filmed a few things ahead, and they'll use tricks, like having her sitting down in the scene, putting her in pigtails to make her look younger, etc.

My DVR cut off right as Kevin lifted the bottle. What did I miss?
Maybe I’m missing something but how does adult Kevin drinking relate to little Kevin leaving the mall after meeting the ball player?
Did you see the promos for next week? It was a setup for that.A I don’t know why but I feel like Beth leaving so quickly is going to lead to something else. It just felt too focused on to the just a throwaway.
I think, and I could be wrong, that it had to do with his need to fix things. He was so desperate to talk to the hockey player, it's like he needed to let him know about all the things in MN. He researched MN, got a ride to the mall, got in line, threw a fit to stay in line and ultimately got to talk to the guy and completed his task. With Nicky, it just didn't work. He researched, found out where Nicky lived, got everyone together for the road trip and ultimately found Nicky. But Nicky would not take his help and it was frustrating to Kevin that nobody else was on board with him. They were all just like, "yeah, you tried, oh well, let's go home now."
I think both stories were more about Kevin and Rebecca's relationship. She was unsupportive with the hockey guy, wanted to leave and go get lunch. This time, with Nicky, she drove to meet them, and was encouraging Kevin. He was angry at her in the young version, pulling away and scowling, not telling her what he talked about with the hockey guy etc. I think the drinking was a result of his plan not working and his frustrations with his family not supporting his plan, like they were not supporting him in the past (Jack not taking him to the mall, his siblings telling him the guy was going to be traded so why would he want his autograph etc.)

I thought the contrast of adult Kevin to young Kevin in the car was about hearing his mother say she was proud of him and the fact that he felt the earned praise as a child -- and was scared and shamed to receive the (undeserved?)praise as an adult. It was heartbreaking.
In my head I was that person too LOL. I laughed when the guy said he hoped he didn't get traded to the Twins either. Especially with the February we are having, no one wants to move here. But 1992 was the year after we won the World Series.Yeah, that makes sense. And, I’m sorry to be ‘that person’ but the guy was a baseball player. I know, I know, it doesn’t matter at all, but it’s winter, and I’m frozen, and hockey is important now lol
.

Yeah, I thought that whole house sequence was nuts. I wish they had talked it out instead of visiting the house that was built on their old lot.More time to post now...
I thought that stopping by "the old house" was a bit unrealistic. First, who would actually just let someone in? And second, it's a different house - though I guess the foundation was still there, so the new building would have the same footprint as the old one.
I'm giving the writers a pass, though, because I get that they needed a vehicle to explore how Kate and Randall remember the same day so differently. (I bet that happens in real life a lot more than we realize!) I thought Randall was really perceptive as a kid, and it plays into how Kate just idolized their dad too.
I hope Nicky does go and get some help, and I hope he and Kevin connect and stay in touch. I also think Nicky's casting is great! - They really "feel" like the same person to me, even though I know they're not.
