I agree we just got back from a stay at AoA over Easter week. My mom was like here get your soaps. I was like, no thanks. No way I'm using that stinky green mess at home. I was so disappointed. I purposely didn't bring my own. Maybe that's why they switched? Lol.
I don’t think it stinks exactly. I think it smells manly. I don’t know what made them think everyone should smell like a man. I really don’t understand why they don’t use something neutral like they used to have. :sad2:

I thought it smelt like mustard lol. It also didn’t get the tangles out of my hair at all

Has anyone who booked a group rate/magical offer, been denied the option to opt out of the housekeeping GC deal?
We were initially denied during our February stay, but then the cast member on duty went to talk to the manager and we were granted the GC afterall.

thank you, good to know. It seemed strange they would have to service your room because you booked a certain way.

Hello!

Can someone please tell me if the beverage area at Pop is 24 hours? It’s been a couple trips since we have stayed here, I know All Star Sports has become 24 hours so I’m wondering if Pop has changed? I don’t think it has but doesn’t hurt to ask.

I tried searching and couldn’t find an answer, thanks!

No unfortunately not, the food court closes at midnight.

Just arrived at Pop, and got my request for a room in building 10. AND I got to meet the famous “James at Petals Pool Bar”! :)

HE IS STILL THERE???? You just made my day! We love James! I had asked on here if he was still working at Petals but never heard an answer! I can't wait to see him in 46 or so days!

Yes, and he seemed surprised about being a DIS Board Pop thread celebrity, LOL!

My DH asks me if Pop is like Super 8 or Red Roof Inn... we have never been to Pop before. What would be the answer to his question?

If anyone has been to Disneyland and stayed at the Carousel Inn across the street from the park, would you say Pop is comparable to The Carousel Inn?

Other than the room door opening to the outside, Pop is nothing like Super 8 or Red Roof Inn. In our experience, Pop is so much nicer, has better service, nicer rooms, much better pool, daily entertainment and is ON WDW property!

I posted this in the disAbilities thread, but I was wondering if there are usually several ECV users waiting for buses in the mornings at POP? If so, how long a wait should I plan on?

I would really like to know about the desserts too. We won't need an extra drink if we have the mugs. Everything I've seen about this was from 2017, so it would be nice to see if this is allowed this year. Seems POP is the only resort that this has been an issue at.
I'm not sure if someone answered this already, but I have done this at Pop, POR and All stars. When checking out, just let the cashier know that you are substituting your drink for a dessert, extra side or a snack. If you want ice cream, they will give you a receipt to bring back to get your ice cream later (so it doesn't melt, or course). I love the option of swapping something for the drink. For breakfast, my son would get a meal and then I would get a bagel in place of his drink. The bagel was enough for me for breakfast and it saved us a snack credit.

A Pool Bar
A 4 story "Jukebox"
A 4 story Big Wheel
A 4 story 8 Track Tape
Immaculate lush landscaping
Shadow Boxes filled with amazing artifacts from the 1950s,1960s,1970s 1980s,1990s
Activities Program
Pool Movies
Hair wrap station
Caricature station
Pressed Penny machines
Laundries

LOVE this list!!

To add to it, there is a rainfall/handheld shower combo in the bathroom and a really cool Murphy bed in almost every room.

We’ve travelled with my mom using a scooter on numerous trips staying at Pop. Normally she is able to board the first or second bus. Occasionally we’ve waited for a third bus but it’s not the norm. Basically it’s very similar to the wait for others in line. The scooter line seen to grow in proportion to the others in line.

It really depends how many others there are in line ahead of you, most buses are only equipped to hold 2 at a time.
