So you scan your QR code at best buy and get additional rewards off the free GC's you're buying

Spend 4400 sb to get $50 in BB GC's, buy a $50 Disney GC with them and scan the QR code, get back 600sb to work on the next redemption

I am sorry - I am a little slow getting this. What is a QR code? So I can turn the BB gc into the Disney GC and get a sb points for the disney gc?
I do MYPOINTs more then SB.

Same idea as a bar code, it's just another format (it's square). If you go to the shop section of SB website and look up Best Buy there's an option to shop in-store. You can do it on your PC and print out the QR code or do it from your phone/tablet and scan either in store.


It says "1sb per $1" but in reality everyone's been getting whatever the promo amount is. Right now 2 per 1, when I did mine it was 3sb per 1.

I've been on Swagbucks for a couple months and haven't even thought of half of this. Teach me your ways!

The only other trick I've got up my sleeve (that I recall) I usually only pull out during Swago. And it only works if you have a Bed Bath and Beyond that sells 3rd party gift cards and doesn't have a problem with you using a GC to buy them. It's another place where the system allows it, and corporate seems to allow it, but some stores instituted policies against it. (and not all stores sell 3rd party gift cards, and then I think I heard some that do, don't sell Disney)

So for Swago there's always a square to check off by redeeming for a gift card and a square to check off by buying a gift card at MGCP. I redeem for PayPal which checks off the GC square and then I buy a Buy Buy Baby gift card at MGCP. Buy Buy Baby is part of the same company as Bed Bath and Beyond and so you can use Buy Buy Baby GC at Bed Bath and Beyond (and vice versa). For some reason the baby gift card is a 3% return on MGCP but Beyond is only 2.5% . To me I count that as getting a discounted gift card (since I'm getting SB back from the purchase) and I use my PayPal to reimburse the purchase. I'm out no money and checked off 2 swago squares.

If you can find another MCGP GC that allows GC>GC purchase or you're more organized and can do some creative accounting for it, then it's not exclusive to BBB. It was just the easiest for me.

Actually, now that I reread the page, I forgot it says there's a bonus for just shopping in-store there wasn't a $ requirement listed. But they are so confusing, I can read it both ways. Did anyone shop in store with a less than $50 purchase? I forgot I was going to try that out but I haven't been to a Best Buy since the holiday's.

Yeah I stopped doing Target once I signed up for Shopkicks since I could get kicks at Best Buy. (thanks to whoever pointed that one out! could have been the Gift Card thread or here) But around the holidays shopkick went to 1 kick/$1 so I looked into the Swagbucks offer. Hope they keep that bonus going for a while, that beats shopkicks even when it was 2-4 kicks/$1.

I just read through the latest posts on here and the disney gift card thread and learned about the Best Buy QR code for in store purchases. Are there any other places that have in store QR codes?

So I'm going to try to do the BB offer, using the qr codes, Friday night. DD27 doesn't want to try it first, she wants me to do and make sure it goes okay. So, will drive out of town to try maybe 4 of them, and hopefully it'll work out okay. I don't see anywhere there are any limits, on either side, other than must make a $50 sale. Wish me luck!

I noticed tonight that the IMVU deal is back at $40. I think I remember several dissers saying they did this and got their 4000 SB on time, is that right? Mine that I tried to do, well I messed it up and I didn't see the first email they sent to have me verify by going thru their link. Finally ended up they returned the 9.99 they had held on my, (it show pending on my imvu acct and paypal acct), as if it never happened. Anyway, when I opened IMVU tonight a pop up said click to activate $40 Imvu deal so I did. But now I'm confused, hoping someone has some idea what to do, lol. I went to buy the credits - *Purchase $9.99 of Imvu credits(10,000 credits) and earn 4,000 SB! Okay that's cool, only they have a sale going on and the link for the 9.99 amount of credits is now only $5.50! So, do I purchase that since it is their usual $9.99 for 10,000 credits, or do I have to go to the next level which is $11 for 20,000 credits? I wish they weren't having a sale, making this a bit difficult knowing what to do. It's a great deal if it works, and I know it did for some, but no idea which to buy. If I could buy the $9.99 deal for 10,000 credits at $5.50, that'd be great as an even bigger money maker, of course!

That is a tough one! DH and I did the offer when it was $40 and it did credit before the 30 days - mine actually credited a couple of days after doing the offer. I would do the $11 package unless I found several other people that had good luck doing the $5.50 plan. Thing is that I would worry SB would deny the offer since it does say you have to spend $9.99, not how many credits you buy. Also the $40 offer might be just today and then it will go back down to $30 so waiting for others experiences would not be a good idea. If course the $40 offer has popped up a few times now so it might come back when the credits are not on sale (which would save you $1). Ok, I am no help

Personally I would buy the $11 credit pack. I think the 9.99 amount is the minimum.

I'm not aware of any others. Most stores use a credit card tracking program to earn rewards in store (like SB Local and Shopkick or any of the dining out programs) but Best Buy is different and setup the QR code. Which is nice because you'll get rewards no matter how you pay... even nicer when you can pay with free gift cards
