Official Wine and Dine 2017 thread

Looks good :-) Tiffins looks interesting, but I wasn't brave enough to try it. I'll wait and see what the reviews are when it opens :P

I was nervous about Tiffins, but it is seriously so good! We ate there last month for the first time and we are going back in Nov! We did the ROL package last time, but the food and service are phenomenal!

As a local I almost never make ADRs this far out but I jumped on the bandwagon and made a BOG lunch res for 11/4 weather it sticks or we opt to eat around the world and do medal pictures at Epcot post 10k instead of heading to magic kingdom like last year is anyone's guess

And as soon as I book my ADRs, I change them. Now going to tutto Italia the night before the 1/2 since the girls want pasta. I don't need to carb load for the 10k so it'll probably be quick service instead of Via Napoli.

I did 3.5 miles today! Slowly making my way to 10k!

I had posted our general plan earlier (not too much changed, I think) so I didn't think of it!

Thursday Nov 2nd
6pm - Paddlefish

Friday Nov 3rd
7:40am - Bon Voyage Breakfast
5:15pm - Il Mulino

Saturday Nov 4
11:15 Sci Fi
5:15 Flying Fish

Sunday Nov 5
11:15 Le Cellier
5:15 Tiffins

We are doing Flying Fish at 5pm on 11/4:wave2: We love Tiffin's too. We have been 3 times so far. August will make it 4, and November 6 will make 5.

I recently had a nice tour de signature restaurants during my week long trip for the dark side weekend.

Tiffians is so good service the best I've had in years on Disney Property. The Ahi is the best I've ever had in my life at Flying Fish Cafe, the rest of the food is very good but slightly over priced. Jiko was amazing as per usual. So different! But... the best was, surprisingly Artist Point which we didn't have reservations for. It was INCREDBILE. They've completely revamped that operation. I was hesitant to go back since my past impressions left me saying meh... not this time. The 4 in my party easily agreed it to be the best of our dining experiences all week! Artist point, is flying under the radar!!! Check it out.

I will definitely keep that in mind. I too had been hesitant of AP based upon comments, but the menu has always looked good. So many restaurants, so little time;)

I have to say, we ate at AP so long ago, as I think it was 2013, but we were very impressed. It happened to start pouring and we had planned to eat in Epcot and changed our minds the night before as we weren't sure picky middle would eat at the restaurant. I'd been trying to get him back to the room for a nap when the oldest and DH got stuck in line for RnRc as it went down. I was pregnant and couldn't handle the stroller and the toddler on my own on the bus. When we finally got back to WL for "naptime" we ended up deciding to hang at the resort. We got a last minute ressie at AP and were very impressed. I didn't like my ap, but ordered it at a friend's recommendation, but everything else and the service were great! I would definitely try it again!

Oh, and Jiko is definitely on my want to try list. I have thought about doing a split stay with AKL just so I can try Jiko.

You won't regret Jiko. It was our first Disney signature. I so want to get back there, but there's just so many good places to try.

Hello all! New to this thread :-) DH and I are doing the challenge! We ran W&D Half in 2014, but still feels like we're first-timers to it with the changes. We're staying at the Swan for the majority of the trip, then moving over to Yacht Club (we decided to extend after MVMCP dates were released) so I'm having to make ADRs day-by-day...here's what I have:

10/31- Rose and Crown 7:50 PM
11/1- Skipper Canteen 5PM (MNSSHP)
11/2- Tiffins 6:50 PM (waiting for ROL package...)
11/3- Le Cellier 5:45 PM
11/4- Il Miluno 6PM
PLANNED:
11/5- La Hacienda before the after party
11/6- California Grill
11/7- Monsieur Paul
11/8- Homecomin'
11/9- CRT (MVMCP)

Will make F&W special dining events for breakfasts/lunches when those are released, then just wing it with QS and F&W booths. I'm sure it won't happen, but it would be great if they brought back the Premium Package- it was so nice to just walk to the seating area and have our F&W items delivered to us, saved us time on our feet prior to the race. Plus the CMs working the premium areas were some of the best I've ever encountered!

Does anyone know if the shirts are long sleeved or short sleeved? On the website it lists Long-sleeved for the 1/2 marathon, and 10k, but short sleeved for the Challenge. Yet all three link to a long-sleeved sizing chart. I personally can't stand long-sleeved t-shirts. Due to my shoulder width I need a larger size shirt than my arm-length dictates, so the sleeves end up extending half way down my hands (if not further). Simply makes them unwearable for me. Really hoping that at least the challenge shirt is a short-sleeved an that the link is incorrect.

They've been long sleeve the past few years, so I'd expect the same this year. Sorry!

Last year they were long-sleeved tech shirts (unisex- or women's-cut) for the 10K, half and challenge. Unisex-cut (sigh) cotton shirt for the 5K.

So typo on the website then. :(( First Disney race and I'm going to end up with a shirt I'll never wear. I guess I could try to modify it into a short-sleeved shirt myself.

I've seen people modify them...totally doable. :)

And that's not the first typo on runDisney's website, nor will it be the last, I'm sure.....

On a different note, my wife and I are trying to make dinner reservations for Sunday night. Our original plan was to do Be Our Guest at the Magic Kingdom before heading over to Epcot for the party. However we woke up an hour after reservations opened and it was all booked. We have thought about possibly doing one of the Epcot country resturants, but don't want to spend a park ticket getting into Epcot before our Post-Race party ticket. Does anyone know what time we can safely enter Epcot on that ticket? Would having dining reservations help get us in earlier (like being able to get into a part for breakfast before the park actually opens)?

No, an ADR won't allow you in earlier. Last year the party started at 10 and they officially began letting party tickets in at 8. But I think some reported being allowed in earlier, around 7:30 maybe. I wouldn't count on that, though.

Ugh, I totally forgot yesterday was my ADR day. I managed to score what I wanted, though, just had to wiggle by a half hour or so.

11/03 @ 7:20pm - Dinner at Narcoossee's
11/04 @ 6:10pm - Dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby
11/05 - We're just going to dine around the Food & Wine Festival
11/06 @ 7:30pm - Dinner at Cape May Café
11/07 @ 9pm - California Grill since that's our MK day and MK closes at 7pm that night (if history serves).

Of our current ADRs, the only places we've eaten at before are Hollywood Brown Derby and Cali Grill.

I don't find the shirt comfortable at all either which is the real bummer. I was sort of hoping the challenge shirt might be short sleeved, though I figured I was being naive. I say we hope.

On the ADR question, you could try an Epcot resort area restaurant?
