Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Hello! So excited--just upgraded to BWI from POR for July 20-25! It's my first time staying there, and will be a total surprise for my travel partner, my bff. (I upgraded without telling her and will let her realize when we get to the Magical Express!)
Four out of five nights have us in Epcot so an Epcot resort just made sense. Soooo excited to learn more about this resort and count down with you all!

What a nice surprise for your bff! You will love the location and the resort. The walk to Epcot and DHS makes everything very convenient and the resort itself has a lot to offer. Enjoy your vacation.

Does the Boardwalk Bakery serve quick service breakfast other than pastries? Where would be the closest place to go if someone wanted (quick service) mickey waffles, eggs, sausage, etc?

I know we had bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches there last summer. I think they had a breakfast platter too but we just got sandwiches.
I do not think there is a quick service in the Epcot area resorts where you can get Mickey waffles.

The Marketplace at Beach Club had Mickey Waffles last October. It is still listed on their menu on the MDE app. They have a breakfast platter with Mickey Waffles as well as just Mickey Waffles and bacon. Hope this helps. Have a great stay!

How comfortable are the pullout beds/sleeper sofas in the one bedroom villas? Anyone had two adults use one comfortably? Thanks

Silly question, but is the murphy bed mattress removable? We are hoping to get a 2BR lockoff and I would love to have both kids sleep in the living room, but they wont share a bed. I was thinking using the murphy bed mattress on the floor for my (at the time) 5 yo DD.

I have not tried but I do know you will have room for a twin size air mattress. Fits quite nicely and easy to tuck away during the day

I have read and heard conflicting things . . . does the Boardwalk enjoy it's own bus to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, or is it shared bussing with the other Epcot area resorts? Does it depend on when you are there/crowd levels? We will be there in mid-August.

We were just there the first week in April and we didn't have to share AK or MK busses. We didn't go to DS, so not sure about that.

My two teenage adult-sized sons slept on it and they said it was comfortable.

I actually really want to know this too for my 3 yo. I'm scared she'll roll off the murphy bed.

Anyone there know what kind of premade sandwiches
Screen Door General Store on the Boardwalk has in the refrigeratated section? Or if they do have premade sandwiches. My DH says they do. I know they have food in there & I think I remember seeing sushi, but I don't remember much else. Thanks.

it took me 6 minutes to walk from right outside the lobby door to the gas station (used to be hess) . they usually have premade sub sandwiches. and as long as you're there ... I brought my empty rolling suitcase and bought some beer, wine, subs, chips, etc.

I was afraid that Marketplace was the closest place...thanks guys. In all our previous trips with stays at the Boardwalk we've always brought our own breakfast food but with a cruise after our stay we won't be bringing as much this trip so scouting breakfast options. I appreciate the help.

From the valet and DME drop off area at the front of the resort to the Speedway it is a .30 mile walk and a pretty big benefit for Epcot area resort guests

Just got back! Booked a BVI Standard room and requested "highest floor/near elevator". That's exactly what we got - 5304! Had a great view of a charming courtyard as well as Epcot! My only complaint about the resort is the lack of a quick service restaurant but still loved it!

As a side note, even if you do the online check-in and receive your room number via text message, I would still suggest stopping by the front desk to get info like maps/daily happenings. We didn't do this and totally missed the Easter "candy grab" with Goofy, Donald and Daisy. We just didn't know about it!!

I have a one night stay booked at BWV at the end of an upcoming trip in May - we added one day to catch the opening of Pandora. I received an email today regarding construction at the resort. Is this old news or does anyone know what it is? I doubt we change resorts at this point since its just one night, I'm just curious. Thanks!

Old news - I got it again today but had also received the email a few weeks ago. I believe people here said that it is minor things such as exterior painting, etc.
