Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

We have only 27 days until we are at POR Our first stay at this resort can anyone tell me what kind of snacks we can purchase to keep in the room and do they have case of water ( or would it be better getting it from the garden grocery)
thanks

They sell cases of water in the gift shop. It cost $6.95 for 24 - 12oz bottles.

There are all kinds of snacks there. :).

We are going in January. I was wondering if POR had any lazy boy chairs for medical purposes? My friend is just having asthma issues and has spent the last couple nights in her lazyboy chair to help her breathing. Are any available or will she have to get a bunch of pillows to prop herself up during the night?

Thanks - I know it's a silly question - I just don't want to listen to screaming if she seems a snake or lizard ;-)

I guess I am a little afraid of the alligator part as far as the pirate adventure oat ride for kids goes... The photos of those boats make it look like the kids could be pretty close to the water!
Small lizards are everywhere in Florida. There are gators, everywhere there is a body of water in Florida, But in all the years I've been to Wdw, I've never seen them on a resort walking path. I've occas seen one in water at Flametree BBQ. No doubt people lacking any sense were feeding him. And someone posted a pic of one at Coronado in the lake, again near outside dining area. Neither were dangerous situations as there were walls between lake and public areas. You just need to use common sense and don't swim or wade in the waterways. Gators have never jumped out of the water at a boat to attack.

Checked in today and having an awesome time!! Requested AB ground floor bldg 28 and got it- and it was ready by noon. Scored a front row table at Yehaw Bob and had a blast. He is so awesome. Spent the day before check in at Typhoon Lagoon which was awesome- kids loved the wave pool and Crushn' Gusher. Excited to start our trip for real tomorrow at Magic Kingdom.

We stayed the 17-23rd in the Royal Rooms and it was amazing! We loved the food court, loved the grounds, and the boat to Disney Springs. Actually, there wasn't anything we didn't love about Port Orleans. It was our first trip to POR and we already booked 2 more trips there (March and December) we are sooo excited! We have definitely found our Disney home!

Does anyone know if there is a usb charging port in the room? I have an external charger that I will need to plug in at night. Thanks!

So excited to be staying here in November!! We had a 1 day RO reservation last year because we couldn't add a day to our stay at CBR and loved the resort! Our oldest is 9 and he is so excited to explore the resort! I have a quick question if anyone here knows the answer. I was about to do online check-in and noticed there are only 3 possible room requests: Corner room, Ground floor and Highest floor. We booked a package last year before price increases so when we decided to add an extra day we had to do a RO reservation so we would not have to pay an increase in our package with this years prices. Is there any way to add additional requests and ask if at all possible if we could stay in the same room and not have to change rooms? I know we have to check out of the RO and check in with the package (both standard rooms) but we would love to not have to lug all our stuff and 3 kids to another room if possible. I read on the first page of this thread that you could fax requests, would this be the best option or should I call? I know room requests are only requests and we are happy to just be going to POR! Any advice would be very much appreciated!

There isn't a USB port, but there are several mains sockets that you can plug your regular charger into (including by the beside table).

As it says in FAQ on the first page, do both. Call in advance to make sure your two bookings are set up as linked continuing reservations, and you can also add any requests at that point too. However all that does is add notes your your file on the system, so about 3-5 days before arrival it's worth sending a fax (which goes directly to the resort's room allocation team) explaining that you'd really like the same room for the whole stay if possible, and reminding them about any other requests you might have.
