Bridging Parksavers tickets to AP - is this correct?

Thank you Robo you have been a wealth of information over the years about tickets !!!

One more question my daughter went last spring with her school to Disney. She has the florida resident silver pass so she used that to enter the parks and the cast memeber at the ticket window said we could use the value of the plastic ticket from the school to renew her pass in December (a little over 200 bucks). Does that sound right ??? Is her name actually associated with that ticket or can we use the credit to renew someone elses pass in the family (my husbands is due October 5th)

Thanks !!!

We have a room at the beach club but only for one night so we will leave Sunday.
If we do this we can get into epcot on a night we are usually blacked out and save about 70 each on our silver passes.
How long will theses tickets on park savers be for sale ??
FYI: I bought the tickets from Parksavers two weeks ago and paid $5 less per ticket...so like @Robo said, if you want to be certain of the deal, buy now if you can (and you decide to go that route).

As long as the ticket that she has is a new, unused standard Disney Magic You Way ticket, it can be used by anyone or upgraded by anyone.

I read through all of this and I'm still confused and don't know if it was answered (I apologize if it was). Can I use a parksaver ticket for an AP renewal?

Can you upgrade from a ticket with MORE features (waterparks and more) to a ticket with LESS features, but costs more (DVC AP Gold)?
If so, does it matter if you have used the ticket to enter a THEME PARK?
I assume if you used one of the water park entitlements, you could only upgrade to platinum?

I have successfully done this. I purchased a 4DPH WP&M and changed it to a 9DPH. As already stated as long as the WP&M entitlements are not used you can do this.

Yes, but I believe that January 1 & 2 are also blocked out on the Silver pass, so if you want to get in those days, I'd postpone the upgrade a little longer if possible.

I need to know where you will be on the evening of Dec 21, lol. I will be buying DD a parksavers 7 day park hopper that she will be using Dec 17-21. I want to upgrade AFTER our last park day to a Gold AP to avoid the blackout days. When I do this, what is the amount I should expect to pay? I have upgraded via a bridge once before and it actually ended up being a few dollars less than I had anticipated (maybe I had tax rate wrong). I wasn't going to argue lol

Assuming no prices change between now and then:
Gold AP - $584.69
7-day PH - $467.54

584.69 - 467.54 = $117.15

I always do all my 'ticket math' with tax included, because all my work computers show prices with tax included anyway, so I don't even know the pre-tax prices for APs. :confused3

Awesome... THANKS so much!!!! I'm sure most cases it turns it out just fine. People are much more likely to report/post a negative encounter than a positive one but it still makes me a bit nervous. Thanks again :-)

Sorry... One more question:

Can I upgrade to the Gold on a blackout day if we will NOT enter another park during the blackout days? On another post, I'm reading conflicting info. I really appreciate all your expertise on this :flower3:

I have a 10 PH ticket that I purchased through the Official ticket Center. I have linked it to my MDE account, but have not used it yet.
I want to upgrade it to an AP before I make my FP+ reservations. Does anyone know if I can call now and they will they upgrade me or do I have to wait till we get to the park?

We aren't going until November, and I want to try and lock in the AP price now in case they increase the price before then. We werent playing on going back next year, but a friend wants to hit up Food & Wine next year, couldnt say no to that. ::yes::

Hopefully someone will correct me but as far as I understand it, you can only do the upgrade in person at the ticket counter or a guest services counter

Why do you want to upgrade in advance?
Do you need more than 10 days of FP+ reservations for the first trip?

If you need FP+ for 10 days or fewer, no need to worry about doing the upgrade in advance.
(And, under "normal" circumstances, you cannot do it in advance.)

Just make your FP+ reservations using the 10-day ticket, then upgrade when you arrive at WDW.

Worried about the AP price going up in the next few months.

You can certainly CALL and ask nicely, but the SOP is that upgrades to third-party tickets are done in-person.

An alternative, if the answer is "no," is to keep an eye on these boards to see if a price increase is eminent. If so, buy an AP, outright, and just hold onto your 10-day tickets for a future trip or an AP upgrade/renewal after this AP expires.

Thanks, I guess I will just have to wait.

Ok, at the world now. Went to MK Guest Relations to attempt the upgrade (was gonna do it at IG but we got to MK early and there was no line at Guest Relations, so...). Told the CM that I wanted to upgrade my current unused 7 day PH tickets to DVC Platinum AP vouchers. Then told her that, to complicate matters, we still have current DVC APs but we do not want renewal AP certificates, we want new ones. Also, the current PH tickets are assign to fake names on our MDE account so they don't get used by mistake before we upgrade, so the AP certs will need to be reassigned to us. Was expecting her to look at me like I was speaking Martian. Instead she said "okay", asked for our ID,DVC cards, and Magic Bands, and started doing her thing. I then asked "Just to be sure, I will pay the difference between th current gate price of the PH and the price of the AP, correct?" She said yep. 10 minutes later she was done, the price was exactly what I had calculated, and the certs were showing in MDE assigned correctly. I thanked her for being so helpful and knowledgable - unfortunately I forget her name (think it was Tia) but remember she was from Nashville, TN.

So thanks to all here for the advice in getting this done. Hope this officially answers some questions regarding price bridging, upgrading to APs, etc.

That's great news. Thanks for sharing. We are planning to upgrade our Parksavers 7Day PH to APs in April and all the horror stories I've read here are making me really nervous. It's so awesome when CMs know what they're doing and are nice about it.
