I am going absolutely stir crazy! Jonesing hard for Disney and literally nothing to do. Trip is 24 days away...too soon to pack (without looking like a lunatic, though our "Disney Box", which is our version of an Owner's Locker, is always packed and ready to go). Nothing to do but stare at the clock, that I swear is ticking backwards, and try to watch our favorite vlogs. Our magic bands should be here any day, I've already started a thread about the wackiness of how they are shipped. HELP! What do I DO????
I'm in the same boat. 2 weeks away and can't find anything to do either. We are doing Disney movie marathons and extra school lessons since we will miss 2 weeks ( we homeschool- it's a 2 week field trip):rotfl:Don't get me started on those magic bands. Every year they get stuck for days in pre- shipment then miraculously show up on our doorstep. I don't pack until a few days before so I am going crazy. Poly is our dream resort that we have wanted to stay at since our first trip, so the excitement of that is making it go slower than usual.

We'll be there...3rd floor, Fiji, marina view, tomorrow! Got adjoining rooms to my brother's room. (He's already there and checked on our room.) Eeeeeeekkkkk!!!!!:banana::banana:

You will love this room so much. This was our room last year and the view is awesome. So much to look at! The back of the pool, people walking, the marina, the water parade, even a side view of Space Mountain! Hope you made it in okay and are all settled. We are a couple of doors down :) this view never gets old!

Thanks for your response :goodvibes
I'm most likely going to chance it and book a villa room for the last two nights. I like the DVC building choices and it's only $5 more expensive than a standard poly room!
Now just trying to hold out as long as possible for room discounts!

You're welcome! Good luck with getting a discount :).

I had this exact situation a few weeks ago so it's a fresh answer haha When it's a DVC reservation and then a cash reservation through DVC they can link them through DVC and the likelihood is high you will remain in the same room unless it's of course a different room type. Now if you book on cash and DVC they just make a notation on each reservation because they don't have access to one anothers systems and the likelihood is lower that you will be in the same room but they still will make it happen if possible. I specifically asked this question when I checked in because I paid the extra amount to have a DVC cash reservation to get them linked, AP rate was lower but I really wanted to stay in the same room as DS has special needs.

Thanks for posting your experience :flower3:.

Right behind you! We are currently enroute from Ontario as of 3 am this morning. Approaching Lexington, Kentucky now. My brother checked in two days ago and asked where our room was located. We are assigned adjoining room in Fiji, third floor marina view! :yay: Our room is 3316. I'm like a kid at Christmas waiting for her parents' okay to starting opening presents! 2 weeks at the Poly !!!!!! Soooooo excited!!!!!!!!! party:

Two weeks at the Poly sounds amazing! Have a great trip! :jumping1:

Make sure you post some pics of your room view :)

I agree ::yes::.

All checked in....Samoa first floor. I LOVE my room and I never want to check out!!!!
We feel like we have our own little oasis. View attachment 188299

Have a great time! :wizard:

Have a standard room booked at the Poly. Are there any bad views? Just want to know before I arrive. Thanks

IMO, there are no bad views at the Poly :).

Now that's a field trip! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I'm looking to stay here so would someone be so kind as to post some pictures of king rooms and the views please. Also not forgetting what longhouse they're in. Thank you! :)

We switched from off-property and are now staying for 6 nights in a studio villa; we can't wait with only 16 more sleeps to go. Our kiddos have no idea as we told them we are staying close to home for our next vacation and hitting up San Antonio. Can't wait to see their faces :-)

Does the Poly ever offer a greater discount than 15%? The week I am going next year is usually when they offer a discount code but for some reason it seems the Poly is discounted less than other Deluxes.

They do offer higher discounts occasionally. Another option that might save you more money is renting DVC points and staying in the studio villas part of the resort.

Yes that is exactly why I asked. I am looking at both options. Thanks!

:yay: :yay:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I check into the Poly in just SIX days!!! After much debating, I ended up requesting 3rd floor Aotearoa. I've stayed in that building several times and love it. :)

Hope you get your request. Have a great trip! :wizard:

I check in Saturday! Woohoo! As my daughter is saying "2 more sleeps daddy". I dont know who is more excited.

Hope you have a great time :cool1::cool1:.

As the pp said, discounts for the Poly are sometimes higher than 15%. However, as with all resorts, it can/does vary. Depending on how booked a resort/room type is will depend on if and how much of a discount is offered for that particular resort :).

Happy Birthday!!! I hope you have a great trip.

I already told my entire family that I'll be in Disney for my 40th birthday and I want to stay at the Poly, too. Thank goodness I have a summer birthday because I'm a teacher and it is hard to take off during the year.
My 40th Birthday was in July.. and my dad is taking the family to Disney in Sept to celebrate my Birthday.. and we get to stay at the Poly.. super excited!

Check out both Touring Plans and Tikiman's site for great room and longhouse info.
