BOG Breakfast Mess

I'm
We had our 8:05 reservations for May 5 of this year. Allowed almost 1 1/2 hours to arrive on time. Waited at least 45 minutes at the resort for a bus. Waited in the bag check. Had a major hold up at the reservation check in while someone argued with the CM that they had a PPO reservation while 4 other CMs watched. Finally got in and fast walked to get to the restaurant on time (1 minute to spare!). Everything at BOG was smooth, from check in to seating to service. Got out around 8:45 to find 7DMT broken down (until almost 11 am), Space Mountain broken down (until almost 1:10 pm), Pooh down off and on, as was Barnstormer. Finally decided to take the train over to Frontierland and after a 40 minute wait, we were told the train was down. Of our 3 fast passes, 2 were down. Finally, after walking over to our 2:10 lunch at Skippers, we called it a day. The pool was working.
Hope you got replacement fast passes for all those rides!

We did not replace SM, but on the way out I did stop by GS and ask if I could convert the 7DMT passes to anytime fastpasses for that Sunday, when we had planned to return to MK, and they did it for me. In the meantime, while everything was down, we rode the carousel twice, Peter Pan, IASM, Mickeys Philharmagic, the tea cups, met Daisy and Minnie at the circus tent, rode the mermaid ride, met Ariel, and rode Pooh during one of the times it was up. Never did get around to SM or Barnstormer this trip. Loved Skippers, and a great way to end the day!

Thanks for this thread. We have an 8:10am at BOG in october and now I know to arrive by 7:30am at the gates.

Good to know for our upcoming trip that as long as I get an ADR for sometime between 8-9 and we get there at 7:30 then we should be in pretty good shape and let in early as someone with an 8:05 (if I understand correctly?).

What time would people aim to arrive at TTC in the morning to get to the gates at 7:30? Also what time generally speaking should we be at the bus stop if we take the bus? Thank you!

Hopefully this isn't typical bc we have an 830. My kids wanted this restaurant not me. I could only squeeze it in as a breakfast.

Is Disney running MK buses earlier on EMM days? We are staying at POFQ and have a 8am BOG reservation on Tuesday 6/14 which is an EMM. I want to be sure we are checking in at BOG 10 minutes early.

In our experience, yes. We stayed at POFQ last month and had an 8am ADR PPO breakfast just like you. We caught the MK bus in front as usual a little after 7am. Granted, we were the ONLY people on the bus, but it was running early for us. We were able to get to the front gate line on the left (for early diners). They checked our bags first and then we checked in with the cast member (who has a tablet to verify your reservation time) who showed us where to line up. They officially let us into MK a little after 7:45 so that we were able to take pictures along Main Street prior to getting to BOG at 8. It will help expedite things if you pre-order your breakfast ahead of time.

I don't care how long the wait is or what strategy it takes to get to BOG I personally can't stand the noise in there. It's too loud and chaotic. And the cast members for my one visit were very rude and assumed everyone there already knew what to do and where everything was. Nope I'll take a nice Cinderella table any day over BOG. Shoot I'd take Starbucks in Seattle on a Monday morning over BOG.

If you sat in the center ballroom section, I would agree with you. It's pretty to look at, but if there are a lot of people in there, it has all the atmosphere of a middle school cafeteria. We always sit in the room to the right. I'm not sure of its official designation - we call it the Gallery, because of all the pictures on the walls. It's a smaller room and is much quieter, even if it's fairly full. The furniture is more substantial - heavy wooden tables, well padded benches, and solid chairs - so it lacks the cafeteria atmosphere. We find it a fairly peaceful retreat.

I think that's the room I went in. It was the least loud. Still was too loud to even think of enjoying food. And chaos was not my idea of how to start the day. Personally I will avoid that restaurant if I ever go again to WDW.

The problem, though, is that you don't get to pick which room you're in (at least not for lunch or dinner). I was surprised that we were "seated" for lunch, despite the restaurant being quick-service at that time.

We've had lunch there multiple times and we've always chose our own table.

Sorry to hear that- maybe they were having an off day. We had the exact opposite experience for an 8:15a res in February- we arrived early and were seated early. Food was prompt and delicious.

We've had lunch at BoG almost more times than I can count, most recently about a month ago, and we've never been seated for lunch and could always choose where to sit . I think that's standard procedure, so I don't know what was going on when you went.

We had the same issue in May as the op. I still don't understand why they hold people that have reservations in that area to the left and then let everyone in at once. It doesn't make sense to me to get to a closed park at 7:30 for a 8:20 ressie. What do you do if you get in at 7:45 for 30 mins? Take pictures, I guess? We were through the bag check and ticket area with plenty of time and then had to wait in a long line and then again at BOG. Why don't they stagger people coming in for breakfast to coincide with their ressie?

The more people who think that, the better for me!
Good for you. When we went it was not good at all. I go to WDW more than most and I have eaten at allot of on property restaurants and I would not go back. Good Luck I hope it is better for you than it was for us.

All I could get was an 8:45. So as long as I'm there by 7:30, they'll let us in early? I wanted ppo so we could got up some rides early, but wasn't sure iy 8:45 was a waste.

I've already dined at Be Our Guest, and had a very nice meal. I've booked it again for my trip in October, and it took quite a few tries to get an ADR.
