Boardwalk Villas decor

The recent DIS Podcast review of the Boardwalk criticised the dated decor of the Villas versus the Inn side which they liked. Will the Villas be refurbed up to to Inn standard this year?

There is currently a refurb going on at BWV. My concern is that DVCMC will screw it up, some of their other design decisions at the other DVC resorts haven't thrilled me.

The BWV and BCV refurbishment is for all of the villas. DVC only released a photo of the BWV studio for some reason.

This is from an older thread. The picture has the new decor.

My question is are they removing the table in the studios and replacing it with a folding table with the murphy bed???

If it's carpet it looks rather light, I can see the complaints about stains coming thick and fast....

Alligator Bayou rooms, at Port Orleans Riverside, have a murphy bed and separate table with chairs. In these rooms, one can eat at the table without disturbing the guest in the murphy bed. However, in our deluxe villas, one has to wake up the guest, fold the bed away and set up the table.

Frankly, I do not know what makes this furniture arrangement deluxe.

I heartily agree with this statement. Lets hope they listen to the members when the complaints start rolling in.

I guess there's not enough room? :confused3 The murphy bed is much wider than the current dresser so I can see why they'd have to remove the nice big table. If they wanted to put in a sleeper chair, they'd have to get rid of the table as well.

They really should just leave some studios the way it is, without the murphy bed. Add a new category for a "standard-standard" studio.

OH my I hope that is not what the room is going to look like.. that is sterile and awful.... I am thinking one last reason to sell after Oct/Nov trip. I mean there is no decor...white and yellow gold. :crazy2::crazy2::crazy2:

I said on an earlier thread it looked like a hospital room. LOL!!

I'm really hoping it looks better in person. It HAS to, right?

yes I sure hope so too. Lately wondering what they are thinking at Disney. I had hope after seeing the VGF they looked amazing but this is cheap looking too. Glad my next stay is over at SSR. Yeah hospital room is pretty accurate.. I am just stunned!!!!!! at least it doesn't have wood floors!

I just looked at the pictures of the rooms at the Inn. Much nicer with lots of little details, makes me sad.

I think they might have tried too hard with the VWL refurb and decided to go "blah".

You know the INN is a hotel room the DVC villas are our HOMES and they always felt that way. comfortable warm, not a sterile hotel room.REALLY

Yes, but the photos of what the villas will look like after the refurb is anything but WARM.

Sadly non of the refurbed rooms at any resort feel the same as the original. My guess is that the new furnishings are chosen to reduce housekeeping time and not to provide owners with a beautifully themed room.

The other thought is that Disney did a study and chose design elements that make you want to leave your room. Not staying in your room equals increased spending. :-)

Given that the Inn rooms seem to be a winner, why didn't DVC just borrow that design and put it into the Villas?
