Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

Before Tutto Italia, there was......

I am still SO bitter they left. Have not set foot in a restaurant in the Italy pavilion since.

I must say that I miss Bill and Sherry.

Bill: Let's do some environmental tests. Put up 2, 5, and 7.

Sherry: Seven?

Bill: Yeah, seven.

Sherry: OK.

Bill: After that, we're gonna subject your vehicle to some extremes in temperature as well as corrosive conditions to see how it handles nature's worst. And finally, we'll take you out for some handling runs.

Sherry: Off road or cornering?

Bill: Let's do the cornering. Um, I'm gonna send you through some hairpin turns and then we'll take you out and do the high speed loops. And depending on how your vehicle and you hold up, ah, we'll even throw a few surprise tests in there.

Sherry: Surprise tests?

Bill: Yeah, pick one.

I miss the old test track too :( It really felt... traffic-y? Is that a word? It is now. The new one feels more space-shippy...

You guys remember VMK?

I was seriously addicted to VMK. Probably better that is closed lol. My daughter and I played Pirates as a team in the same room on different computers and we pretty much rules the 7 seas lol. DW owned the fireworks game........ miss it a lot. I wish they would just release the games to play again, I miss them!

And what I can't figure out is why Disney does not market more aggressively the "retro" side of WDW. If they sold new versions of old logo merchandise, it would be huge. Stuff like this:

I dig it! Would totally buy a T-shirt with that on it, and I'm not one to buy T-shirts with big logos on them. Would look cool on one sleeve.

By today's standards the ship was obviously pretty underwhelming, but for its time it wasn't a bad ship -I believe it(or at least one of them) was the original Love Boat. When I went on it they were pretty clear that it was a "partnership" and Disney's name wasn't on it, nor was it advertised as such. I don't even think they had characters on board ...but I can't be sure it was SOOOO along ago! But obviously Disney didn't like the lack of control and I'm sure they looked at the financial side and saw bigger opportunity running their own ships ...in addition to improving the whole experience. I haven't been on a cruise since -which is somewhat hard to believe thinking about it now.
There were characters. We went on all 3 ships. The first 2 years the characters were Disney characters. On the last cruise the characters were Bugs and Daffy Duck. The ships were not big. The Majestic was tiny..we didn't have a balcony or even a TV in the room. I remember the food as being delicious.

Characters on Disney Private Island on Majestic Cruise 1990 & Disney logo on daily schedule of Big Red Boat Majestic. The cruise also came with a "free Disney Vacation"009AAA.jpg 014AA.jpg

I don't have any, and could not find photos on the Net, but do miss the many topiaries on the walkway from the Contemporary to Magic Kingdom.

ETA, haha, I was posting this as you posted yours, Islamom.
