My most embarrassing moment at Disney, share yours!!

So one time a long long time ago when my kids were much smaller we were rushing to get on Haunted Mansion. My wife asked me to go park the stroller. So I did so and then jogged back to catch up with the rest of the family in line.

My wife asked where the baby was. I didn't know it but the baby was asleep in the covered stroller. Both of our eyes got really big when we realized what had just happened.

I ran back to the stroller and baby was just fine and still asleep.

Not really embarrassing to the masses around me but as a father it was pretty humiliating.

About 5 years ago we were visiting DHS. My DS was in the stroller and my purse was down in the bottom basket of our stroller.

We were trying to make our way over to TOT and Rock n Roller Coaster from the Animation Academy. There was something blocking the regular path a parade or maybe the Disney Rocks show.

Anyway,s we followed the sidewalk in front of Hollywood Brown Derby and then past Starring Rolls, and then there was a set of stairs. There were lots of people walking this way. We couldn't turn around so DH decides to lift up the stroller and carry it up the stairs.

He picked up the front and I picked up the back and he started up the steps. He is a good bit taller than me and so I had a hard time as the stroller got higher and higher and then it tipped. Thankfully DS didn't fall out but everything in my bag spilled out on the steps as he went up the steps. Dh was completely oblivious to everything going on behind him. I was hollering stop stop but he couldn't hear me.

People were kind and were handing me all the stuff that was now scattered on the stairs. What a scene!

This one is absolutely mortifying... but I'm glad it didn't end up worse!! :o

When I was 13, my parents and younger sister and I took a trip to WDW and the day we were in MK, it started pouring, so we got some sweet yellow touristy plastic ponchos to wear until the rain let up. We decided to go on Splash Mountain and kept our ponchos on so we wouldn't have to carry them through the queue.

About 20 minutes after we got in line, I felt like I needed to use the restroom, but there was no way I could walk all the way out of the queue, find a restroom, and then essentially cut everyone in line to get back to my family, so I thought I could hold it. An hour later, I'm about to wet myself as we get to the front of the line. I'm frantically looking around for a bathroom (as we're boarding the ride? :rolleyes2 13 year old me was a genius) and realize that I have two options: board the ride or sprint through the chicken exit and hope that I make it to the nearest bathroom. I take option one.

As a last-ditch effort, I try to make it through the ride, but it's not happening. So I pull my poncho around my bottom half and let nature take its course :guilty: the poncho keeps it from going on my mom, who's sharing a car with me and has no idea what's going on... then before the big drop, I hike my poncho up to my waist and pray that we get soaked. Thankfully, we did, our car got filled with water and I'm drenched from the waist down.

The rest of my family stayed pretty dry and they kept asking how I got so wet... I just said my poncho must've ridden up when I sat down :confused3

At least when you did it, it was an accident - when I was in line for the safari at AK, I saw a family arguing with the stroller parking CM because they wanted to hand the stroller over with their baby sleeping in it, and head off onto the ride!! :sad2:

Last time we went my youngest was 16 months old. We were in the Laugh Floor show. I was holding him while my husband had my older son sitting on his knee.
They ended up being shown on the screen as "the two headed monster". Just as we become the center of attention, my little one pees and the diaper leaks. I felt a warm liquid running down my leg, I had to just sit and smile for fear that the whole place would see me react!
The baby had so many problems that trip with diapers!
We go back in 18 days, so glad no one in diapers this trip!!

I don't know if embarrassing or just gross.

Getting on the bus was a challenge for us. In the commotion of it all DS dropped the sucker on that nasty bus floor. You guessed it. It was in his mouth again before I had a chance to react. A mom looked at me stunned that I let that happen. I told her that the germs were in the mouth already. I wasn't going to make him cry by taking it away. She continued giving me a look like I should be concerned that child protective services was going to show up at the hotel.

If it makes you feel better, when she was three, I turned around to see my DD licking the floor of the supermarket and she survived! YUCK!

My moment at Disney was our last trip. I have to let you know that normally I am a pretty low-key, even-tempered person. It takes a lot to make me mad. It was the third or fourth day of our vacation and my husband had been crabby and snapping at me the whole time so far. So, in the middle of Hollywood Studios, I lost it, yelled at him, and walked off to find a bench to sob on. I heard a kid walk by and ask, "Mommy, why is that lady crying?" and I thought to myself, "Gees, you are a grown woman. Suck it up!" But I was very embarrassed. Good thing no one knew me! The trip went much better after that!

Don't feel bad. Same thing happened with me and my dh on our last trip in Epcot. He was acting the same way and I blew up and ummmm wheeled off, I was in a wheelchair. I was SO going back to the resort until my eldest DS called me and asked if he could go on Spaceship Earth with me. He and I then went all over Epcot together while dh and my younger ds went back to the resort. When we met back up for dinner dh was in a much better frame of mind and everything was fine after that.

Not quite at Disney, but almost.

DD wasn't quite two yet when we first brought her to the world. This was pre ME days so we rented a car. First time I had ever driven a Japanese car, seatbelt latches on them were different than in my Pontiacs. Strapped the car seat in the backseat, strapped DD into the car seat and headed out. On the big ramp from 528 to I-4, we hear from the back seat "uh oh Sa-rah!" DW turns around and there is DD, still strapped into the car seat but now the seat is laying on it's side. Pulled over ASAP and fixed it.

Twenty years later I still haven't heard the end of that.

The story of your DD licking the grocery store floor made me burst out laughing for some reason :rotfl:

I had a crying moment too - I'm not a crier at all but I always get tearful on the trip home, and this time I was crying quietly on the DME and it continued onto the plane. As we were taking off I was trying to hide that I was crying looking out the window, the random toddler next to me shouts "MOMMY WHY IS THE LADY CRYING??" Insert shame here!

Me too!! I could just picture it in my head. Thank goodness kids are so durable!

This is a story on my middle son, and the adorable Alice in Wonderland. We have gone to WDW for years and years, the 3 boys grew up with it, and enjoy it now that they are adults. Several years ago, (Back in the days of Pleasure Island) we took a graduation trip. One of our favorite places is 1900 Park Faire breakfast. Alice came by and sat next to DS21, and managed to quietly flirt in character. However, it became quickly obvious that the two of them were truly smitten with each other. (real Disney magic :wizard: ) We all made "funny" comments, Alice staying firmly in character, but both of them blushing wildly. The funny end to this was my husband finally suggesting that the two of them could meet at Pleasure Island, and Alice of course saying she was "not old enough, and didn't know of those things." My husband looks at her wrist, and says "Then why do you still have the handstamp?" (which she didn't) Her immediate response was to look at her wrist and hide it, then realized her mistake! The both of them were beet red, and Alice beat a hasty retreat!

I have had this moment myself. A couple of times. My sobbing moment took place in AK when I was 5 months pregnant. I actually had to assure three different CMs came to check on me that everything was, indeed, fine.

I am also glad to know that I am not the only parent that has subjected their poor child to Alien Encounter/Stitch. In 2006, my DS was almost 5 and just loved Stitch. Hubby & I had been on Alien Encounter on our honeymoon, but we thought it was a different ride because of its new name. Such a bad mistake. My son was squealing like a stuck pig and then tried to wriggle out of the harness to get out of the ride. He ended up sliding down to the floor with his head stuck. It's funny now, but at the time I was horrified by his yelling and felt so awful for him. He wouldn't watch Stitch for years after that. (I also tried to make him feel better with that gift shop...)

Another embarassing moment: we bought a piggy bank for DS in the Mexico pavilion in 2007. Because it was Epcot, we had rented a double stroller and the kids (then 6 and 7) were sound asleep while hubby & I walked around WS enjoying food & entertainment. Well, at one point, I put the well-wrapped piggy bank on top of the stroller. Well, I forgot it was there and started pushing again..... You know what happened next: :scared1: Yup, you heard the piggy bank shattered in to a million piece. Of course, that woke DS up, he started crying because I was crying that I broke his piggy bank. I felt so horrible. Hubby actually went all the way back to the Mexico pavilion to get another one. Since then I have learned to have things sent to the front of the park or the resort for pick up.

I did the bad mommy thing with a ride too. My eldest ds and my dh wanted to go on Splash Mountain and were trying to talk my younger ds and I into going on. I finally said okay and told my youngest ds that it would be fine. Yes I saw the drop but didn't think it was toooooo bad. Of course that was until we hit said drop. I screamed like a banshee while my youngest ds sat there frozen staring straight ahead. We got off the ride and youngest ds looks at me and says "Nice Mom. I am NEVER going on that ride again." This of course is the same child who now rides Space Mountain, Ripe Ride Rocket, and the Hulk. I guess I didn't scar him for life LOL

If anyone remembers the Millennium Village in Epcot, my sister, nephew and I were in the musical rainforest. We were taking a break and happened on the musical posts. As we were going through happily bouncing and creating music...my sister and I happened upon a post that was just a post. My nephew didn't heed our warnings and happily bounced himself into the post where he quickly fell to the ground and bounced back up as quickly as he landed. Looked around, and said lets get outran here...He was indeed okay but the sunglasses he was wearing at the time broke in half and he couldn't look at either his mother or I without turning red from embarrassment. Not to mention it was only day 2 of our 8 day trip.
