March 29, 2013 8 Nights on the Magic

Thanks for clarifying. Wow 20 for a corkage fee.

I saw the dining rotation listed on another thread and thought I'd post it here.

LAAPOAPL.
APPLOPLA
PLLAOLAP

I guess there is no dining rotation when we are in Port Canaveral. Interesting.

Well, that would make since since the second night would be formal night. For those with LAA.. The animator's show would be in the third night.

ETA: I heard to is open dining on Port Canaveral night. Topsiders is even open until

Ok I might be missing something here, but can we bring on any alcohol we want? Can we just drink it in the room or anywhere on the ship?

On a different note my fun "Days till Disney" countdown came today, we're all getting excited!!!!

I'm nervous about the FE though, is there anywhere I can look to find ideas on gifts for it? Also do we leave our names with the gifts or is it secret? I don't want to be the lame gift giver :-)

I haven't looked, but have read there is a FE Facebook page! There are pictures of gifts that people have made or received.

Here's the link to the "days till Disney" countdown. Tgey have red Minnie and red Mickey too. It's even cuter in person!
I just ordered it! YAY!
Beverage Policy
Question
What is the policy regarding bringing alcoholic beverages on board?
Answer
Alcohol is permitted on board. However, any fragile items (including alcoholic beverages) must be hand-carried on board in the carry-on of an adult Guest – age 21 or older (dimensions can't exceed 22" wide, 14" high and 9" deep).

Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.

Guests who arrive in the dining room, including Palo and Remy, with a bottle of champagne or wine will be charged a corking fee of $20.00 per bottle.

Please be advised: Disney Cruise Line reserves the right to remove fragile items (including beverages) from checked luggage. In such cases, items will be stored and returned at the end of the voyage. Beverage containers are considered fragile and have previously caused damage in checked luggage. All fragile items must be transported inside carry-on luggage.

We definitely took advantage of this out of Port Canaveral. Just be careful that you don't take too much. I bought a bottle of Jim Beam, a bottle of Malibu coconut rum and a bottle of grey goose. Liquor is definitely cheaper in Florida, so I loaded up. I don't normally drink, so on a seven night cruise with three adults, I should have gotten two smaller bottles of Vodka and Jim would have been fine. :) Lesson Learned.

That's when you invite your new friends from the Dismeet lol

I know many like the Fantasy more, but I found it to be a VERY large ship. We met during the dismeet, which was frantic because we were just off a bus for two hours from Disney world, and I didn't really see that many people again. I am looking forward to the intimacy of this ship. :)

I think the Fantasy looks like fun, but way too big! Although Cooper would love tge slide!

I don't know how tall Cooper is, but the height limit was 48 inches. Jack was 43 inches and couldn't get on... That was a bummer..

Oh no :( I'm not sure he would make it either.

It was okay though...all he wanted to do was be in the club... We dragged him out nightly and forced him to have breakfast with us everyday

Hi everyone!

We are working hard on our FE gifts already and would like to personalize some of them with first names. We are going with the names on FE-1 as they are written. Please forgive us if they are spelled wrong.

Also, for the rotation (this is a long cruise newbie question here),why are we in the same restaurant twice in a row- once for formal night and one casual?

We are main dining, but is there a way to find out which one we start in?

Thank you. This is a great group here!! I've heard stories about lame cruise meet threads- this is definitely not one of them, though!!

I am sure that someone more knowledgeable will answer, but I remember someone saying you could request it through your TA or DCL. We didn't on our last cruise as it was all new to us and I can say, I was happy. Each dining room was very nice.

pchyjewels & Texan920 (Annie) you are on FE list #2

GlitterGurl (Annie) you are on the DisMeet Only List.

Any words on how the FE work?

We have a fair amount in this thread already on how the FE will work. Short version is that there are two lists. FE's are pretty random, you really don't know what you're going to get. Good bet it will not be very expensive, due to needing 20 of them, or large, due to transport issues. So don't hold your breath on a new car :drive: (although if someone is thinking of that, you could give the key, and have the car hauler of vehicles back at the Galveston Port... just an idea). You can do individual gifts (like Heidi) for boys and girls vs. adults, or the same gift one per person, or a single gift for the whole cabin, depends on your mood, and that is why my spreadsheet handles all of those use cases (Heidi). And you randomly deliver the gift sometime during the cruise, if it is themed, say pirate: , then you could deliver it on pirate morning, if that struck your fancy.

In short, the FE is a very stressful and hectic pain in the rumpus cause you have to find the PERFECT gift to maximize impact at a reasonable price:cool1:; and then tote around all this stuff to the ship and make sure it doesn't break when they stack your suit cases a mile high on the shipping racks; store it in your room until the ideal moment; and then hike it all over the ship with your sunburned legs :furious:to deliver it when you notice you're missing Dreams in the showroom since it took too long to find room 6720 :confused3:. Then you get back to your room to find that someone delivered you a mickey sticker (on the keychain to your new car) and it feels all better.

Some people claim the excitement of seeing other peoples' creativity :stir: is worth it, and I might agree.

There is an ABC Liquor Store I like to hit about 5 miles south of the port on A1A. Found their prices to at least be fair. Last time I was there, I got a half gallon of Scotch and an half gallon of Vodka. Went for volume over quality, although Ballantines is the best cheap Scotch, and at least drinkable. The half gallon of Ballantines was $18. I left most of it on the ship, lesson learned.

ABC Fine Wine & Spirits

Cape Canaveral, FL 32931

I just grab a disposable coffee cup with a lid and carry it anywhere. The other option is to get one drink at the bar, and refill from the room all night.

Oh no, I'm good!!i didn't see the tab at the bottom where everything is split into the groups. I'm sorry. Don't go changing anything on my account!! But thanks for answering :-).

Ohhh, no. Too late for that now, I already wrote it. :surfweb: The Summary Tab now has a boy child and girl child count.

FE #1:
Teens: 3 Boys & 12 Girls
Children: 4 Boys & 8 Girls
:jumping1:

FE #2:
Teens: 0 Boys & 1 Girl
Children: 2 Boys & 2 Girls
:jumping1:

The spreadsheet has 12 year old as a TEEN.
