Live Halloween trip.

Just caught up
I didn't realise you were squeezing another trip in this year you lucky thing :)
Love the pictures from the DIS meet

Bahamas Breeze is my favourite off site restaurant ...... Love the Caribbean vibe

Moira then dropped us at Bahama Breeze, somewhere we have been meaning to eat at for years but always too busy to get in. Tonight no problem, table available as soon as we entered. Karen had chicken I had seafood paella (and side of fries) a cocktail & 2 pints of Bud light came to $53 & $10 tip, not the cheapest place but we really liked it.
Will try get some pics uploaded soon.:goodvibes

Looking forward to the pics. :thumbsup2 One of the places we have yet to try. Perhaps next summer? Very jealous that you've managed to sneak in another trip Wayne........ especially when I look out of the window here (with the central heating on) at the Glasgow rain then spot you're lovely photos in shorts and t shirts. Keep them coming by the way. ;) Enjoy!

The new fantasyland sounds amazing! We are off to hoop de doo tonight. I'm trying to persuade the rest of the family to come away from the pool and explore dtd! We had planned blizzard beach today but someone at the resort told us it will be rammed, so will give it a miss.

Seafood paella at Bahama Breeze was my favourite meal of our 2009 trip.
Looking forward to see the photos.

Sounds like you had a great time at the mini meet with Deb, Matt and co at BLT.

We are at 6.15 hoop tonight joolz. Doing ak this morning (when dd wakes up)

Will see you there! Look out for: moody teenager, excitable redhead and sleeping 5 year old - those will be our girls ;) I will be wearing a checked shirt as I intend to get into the spirit of things!

We did ak yesterday and it is my favourite park so far. Really loved it.

Glad you both enjoyed Bahama Breeze :)

I enjoyed our BLT experience, and the company was great :goodvibes. Hope you all - Matt and Deb and you and Karen - continue to have a good trip. I'm counting the hours now until my OKW check in :thumbsup2

We have been discussing OKW again today. We went into MK this morning just under 1 hour each way from hotel to turnstile and back, 2 hours travelling compared to 11 minutes each way from OKW. We then went to Epcot this evening, another 30 mins each way. Karen is trying to convince me the extra £1,000 to stay at OKW would be worth it or maybe a split stay.:goodvibes

we go to pop or to cbr (we surprised ds with a stay at cbr pirate room, checked in today)
we can't really afford (or rather don't want) to spend the kind of money required for a deluxe, but staying onsite is a no brainer
I know that what we pay here at cbr could get us a very nice accomodation offsite, but what good woud it do if it meant wasting 2hrs a day on I4, idrive or sr535

if I don't have the money, I'd rather go to pop and be 10mins away from epcot 5 mins from dhs, than going to a better hotel for the same price on idrive and drive 20+ miles one way everyday twice a day

now you're a AP holder so parking fees are not an issue, but for someone who isn't, if you just factor that in, staying onsite is really not that expensive and if you consider the benefits of staying onsite then it's a no brainer if you can afford the extra cost without digging too deep into the savings

We have booked to stay at pofq for 7 nights next April, went to have a look while we were here and I'm really not keen on it now, just don't get that 'Disney' feeling with it, riverside looks really nice but still not sure, we have stayed at Coronado before which was nice, just wanted to try a diff mod, think SS has spoilt us, love it here now and the walk to DD but need to stay in a mod next time as only going for 1 week so not worth the expense!

We don't like the value resorts but even if we did the cost is more than OKW when DDP is added, If we didn't have DDP I would never pay OOP for Disney food, meaning we would eat offsite, then the travelling problem is back.
21 nights at Pop & tickets & DDP = £5,266.62 or £2,747.25 without DDP
OKW = £4,083.90
The difference between OKW with free DDP & Pop without DDP is £1336 broken down its £21pppd, there is no way we could eat onsite for £21pppd so there is no reason to consider a value. The choice is OKW/SSR, offsite or split stay.

I certainly don't mind the travelling this trip, just the 2 of us. Next 2 days for Seaworld & Busch would be further from onsite so its swings and roundabouts, the only reason we are considering it is for Lily next Summer, our other trips will definitely be offsite.

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time x I bet Matt is glued to the photos but having his own great time at Uni.

Will add Sweet Tomatoes to our list of places to visit for next year as never been there x Some friends recently raved about Padrinos Bistro offsite in case you are looking for new options it is Cuban but apparently the meats are all awesome x

There are offsite places that are closer - those near the 536 (that becomes Epcot Center Drive) are almost as convenient as OKW if driving. That said even though the free DDP deal keeps increasing in price, my preference would be to go for it again - just have to persuade the rest of the family :goodvibes

Edit - that said Vineland Rd isn't that far away - surprised to hear journey times so long...

Wayne I am so sorry not posted I completely forgot you were going again. I really like the look of fairfied inn and suites. Have been following matts blog u must be very proud of him. Fantasyland looks great. I managed to get a reservation for be my guest when I go in april though were not many times left. Do you know when they are hoping to finish it?
Love the disney bags. I hope you and Karen have a nice romantic time though it probably feels strange without Matt.
Looking forward to the rest of your TR

Im sure onsite is perfect if you only want to do Disney .... Two weeks at the big four and the two water parks would blow DHs mind! Do you not feel you're wasting value by stepping offsite? Split stay may work but for us 30-40 mins each way from Westside is so worth it when we get back to our own pool with a bottle of wine in the evening .. Turns a hectic holiday into a relaxing one too.
