Jillian and Michael's Disney DREAM Wedding PJ

Hi Jillian-

Welcome back-you sure got alot accomplished!! I got one thing figured-what dress I'm getting! I love everything you got. Love the rings!! Don't know what to do for Ray. He has such a nice ring already. Wanted to get a gold band made with the mickey head silhoutte on them and a diamond in between each one. Can't find anyone to do it because of copyright blah blah blah. My cousin is working on it for me in Taiwan.

You are getting so close and everything seems to be falling into place. When you're back and settled down, we'll be in touch regarding soaps.

Like the dark hanger and the yarn sounds very cool. I keep getting more ideas reading your planning journal

Haven't figured out how I'm proposing to Ray on our anniversary cruise. After I booked the verandah for that weekend, they come out with Fl res rates for inside cabins. Shooting myself right now.

You are definitely very crafty...wish I was!! Working on invite now. Another DCL bride sent me the template for the passport invite. Still working on my paperwork. -need to call Merideth.

Better run-no school for the kiddos here tomorrow. Gotta go make sure where the flashlights are just in case we lose power.

Hi Jillian!!! Welcome back! It's great to catch up with everything :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you've been feeling sick lately... Those summer colds are the worst! Hope you're on the mend!

That's awesome news that Michael was so successful in the tux/suit hunt!! :) Both sound gorgeous! Do you have any photos?? When is he planning to wear each one? How funny that they didn't sell untied bow ties! Usually it's the opposite situation. I bought an untied bow tie for Timmy to wear in our engagement shoot this weekend not aware that he didn't know how to tie a bow tie. Haha, whoopsie! It took him an hour, but at least he'll be prepared for our wedding ;)

I think you made an excellent decision with your hair. Perms are nice, but can be quite damaging, so it's best to err on the side of caution there. You have such lovely long hair, so it'd be a real shame to do some serious damage to it. I'm sure your friend can achieve beautiful curls on your wedding day, and your hair will be stunning :goodvibes

The MOH dress is gorgeous!! It looks so fantastic on her figure, and the black sash is fabulous! It looks like one you'd buy out of a department store! I never cease to be amazed by your DIY-ness!!

Omg, those silver heels are AMAZING! Love Love!!

That's so wonderful that your church threw you a bridal shower! How thoughtful of them :) You look so pretty in your silver bridal ears.

I didn't know Sephora did bridal makeup consultations! That's great to know! I need to do something like that before the wedding, so I'll definitely look into this. Thanks for the tip!

Your wedding jewelry is beautiful! That will look so incredible with your gown :cloud9:

The accessory floral turned out great! I can't believe you all did all that! Again with the seriously impressed-ness (haha, don't think that's a word, but you get my drift ;)) The colors go really well together, and I think they will pop well in the photos.

OMG... Flower girl dresses are so cute!!! Preciousness!

Regarding putting the wedding date on favors, I'm with you Jillian, and also have put our date on various items. In the event of a hurricane, I know this could come back to bite us, but I figured it's unlikely enough that it's worth the risk. If things do get messed up, I'll just try to take it with a grain of salt and not be overly concerned.

Your mickey stencil tutorial is fantastic! Definitely pinterest worthy :) So you're making tags for the soaps with the stencil?

Thanks so much for posting your rings! It was really great to see them! Your set is just gorgeous, and I love how intricate the bands of both matching rings are.

Your hanger is awesome!!! I am blown away by how fabulous it looks!!! You are just so talented... Seriously, no one should be so accomplished at crafting. You make the rest of us brides look bad, haha ;) I really love it the way the hanger looks now. The yarn is a cool idea and unique, but it is really pretty and elegant in it's current state. Maybe you could put a sparkly charm or something on one of the arms if you want to jazz it up a bit?

Yay!! Bunny photo!! She is just too adorable for words! She looks quite comfortable in her little storm hut. :goodvibes Mine are shedding terribly at the moment (yours looks like a movie star compared to them), so I won't embarrass them with photos

Stay safe in the storm, and looking forward to more updates in the near future! Only like 2 more weeks!! Wow!!!

5 days until the new Doctor Who comes out on BBC America!!! :woohoo: lol

Sending warm and dry thoughts! :umbrella:

And this one just because he's awesome and I just found him!:figment:

Thanks! I stayed relatively dry tonight- It wasn't NEARLY as stormy as the weatherman had predicted! We indeed had BOTH shows of Fantasmic go on from start to finish, so THAT should tell you how mild the weather was! It's really when my shoes get wet that I get grumpy- I hate soggy feet!!! haha, and I prepared for the cold- I wore a long sleeved shirt under my work shirt AND I brought my jacket, so I was toasty! I'm convinced that all of your well wishes kept me dry and warm! :goodvibes

I love the hanger, it looks great, personally I like the dark colored hanger. I think it will show up better in pics with your dress. How difficult was it to make your hanger? I've been trying to decide between making one & ordering one off of etsy.

:Warm, dry wishes:

Yeah, I like the dark stained hanger, too- that's why I bought that color instead of a birch wood or something lighter. I grew up with REAL oak floors (not that laminated junk!) so I love the look of dark woods! And the hanger wasn't difficult to make. Obviously the thicker gauge floral wire you get the more difficult it is to bend, but as long as you have a pair of pliers, you're fine. Some people suggest to go to dafont.com to download (free!) a cursive font and print it large onto a piece of paper to use it as a guide. I personally LOVE my cursive, so I wrote my own ;) Of course, since it's a wire, you have to be sure that everything stays connected with one line! I looked at Etsy for those hangers as examples for all of the different letters. Think of it this way- it's cheaper to make it yourself! AND if you have friends getting married (or if you intend to make similar hangers for bridesmaids, etc) you can make them as gifts! Pick up some $3 wire and if you don't like it, then you're only out $3!

Hi Jillian-

You know what dress you're getting? What does it look like, and do you have a picture? I love my dress, and it's hard to believe that the next time I wear it, I'll be marrying Michael!! I think the passport invites are a great idea! I've loved the ones I've seen! I don't quite know how you should propose to him... and I don't think he NEEDS a new ring, since it's a vow renewal- you could always just give back your current rings! I like the idea of "Mickey" rings, but that sucks about the copyright issues! I think a verandah is way better than a discounted inside cabin... I've had a verandah twice and an inside cabin once, and there's just something wonderful about waking up and looking outside onto the water or at a new port! (That being said, I still want to SEE a "Magical port hole" in the inside cabins) We will definitely talk soaps after I'm back from my wedding! When exactly is your VR again? Anyways, good luck with the hurricane! I hope you all stay safe and dry and that you don't lose electricity! Tonight for us we had NOTHING severe, just sprinkles of rain and a little bit of gusty winds, but we're so far inland!! Stay safe!

Jillian-

I meant to ask you. I never thought about going to Sephora for the makeup consultation. So, I checked my area. Did you go to a stand alone store or did you go to one inside a JC Pennys? I'm thinking stand alone. That is actually in Tampa-not a bad drive. I'm usually so simple with my makeup. I'm going to have Senses Spa do my makeup, but they did recommend I bring my own makeup. I don't have that much-just basically, foundation, powder, blush, and eyeliner.

We got lucky Isaac has moved more to the west and right now we are in the dry pocket area, you're getting more than we are right now.

BTW-I did PM the bride who wanted photos of the ship. I did have a couple.
I'll PM you my dress, don't want to hijack here. The vow renewal cruise is November 18th, Anniversary cruise/proposal is Sept 20th

Stay dry today-are the parks open today?
Busch Gardens is closed today here

Okay, I think this will be a little easier for you to read, Ginger! Your comments with my comments on your comments! :rotfl2:

Hi Jillian!!! Welcome back! It's great to catch up with everything :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you've been feeling sick lately... Those summer colds are the worst! Hope you're on the mend!

Oh, I'm all better now, thank god! I was only sick for about a week, but it was a ROUGH week! I feel so bad that I gave it to my MOH! The poor thing had it just as badly as I did!

I don't have photos, unfortunately! I thought about taking photos while he was at the tailor, but I didn't get around to it. The tailor was very chatty! The tails are a standard set of tails. The silver suit is gorgeous on his dark skin, too! The silver suit is for embarkation day/ legal ceremony day. The tailed tux is for the wedding. I figure he'll just wear a shirt and tie for the third night. I did find it quite unusual that they didn't offer the untied bow tie! Luckily Michael intentionally learned how to tie a bow tie a month or so ago because he has a problem with pre-tied bow ties! :confused3 Whatever works for him! I'm glad Timmy now has had some practice!

I love love loved my perms I had back in high school! They looked great and they were SO easy! I just wet my hair, put some mousse in it and it was done! Ah well, there's no way I was going to risk it getting chopped off after growing it out for two years! Besides, she agreed to follow me around with a curling iron, so that's good! I'm still a little nervous about my hairdo falling out, though... But I'm sure that's just nerves!

The MOH dress is gorgeous!! It looks so fantastic on her figure, and the black sash is fabulous! It looks like one you'd buy out of a department store! I never cease to be amazed by your DIY-ness!!

I know, the dress looks great on her! We both love the cowl neck on it, too! I'm very proud of the sash, too! It's really going to make the dress pop! The sash at the department store was $300! That's CRAZY! I just bought a roll of ribbon and a brooch and voila!

Omg, those silver heels are AMAZING! Love Love!!

GAH! I knooooow! I saw them and instantly fell in love! I'm very picky about heels, I like dainty or delicate shoes and sometimes with current trends the kinds of shoes I like are hard to find! I'm just so horrible at walking in pumps as I learned on my last cruise where I ONLY brought pumps! I much prefer sandal heels that strap to my ankle!

That's so wonderful that your church threw you a bridal shower! How thoughtful of them :) You look so pretty in your silver bridal ears.

I was thrilled when they suggested it! I wouldn't have hardly gotten any gifts if I hadn't had it! I'm glad you like my silver bridal ears- it was really an idea that came out of the blue- like the first thing I thought when I woke up or something I came up with in the shower. They turned out great! Now if only I could find a top-hat with mickey ears like they used to sell!

I didn't know Sephora did bridal makeup consultations! That's great to know! I need to do something like that before the wedding, so I'll definitely look into this. Thanks for the tip!

Please do! It was a great experience and It's essentially free, since you're going to be buying makeup anyways! As a BONUS, they have every brand and so many options! If you went to a Dior makup artist, they'd only sell you Dior products. Instead you can really customize you makeup at Sephora!

Your wedding jewelry is beautiful! That will look so incredible with your gown :cloud9:

Thanks! The necklace REALLY matches the tiara and the beading on my dress!

The accessory floral turned out great! I can't believe you all did all that! Again with the seriously impressed-ness (haha, don't think that's a word, but you get my drift ;)) The colors go really well together, and I think they will pop well in the photos.

I'm impressed with myself! I picked up the floral tools again today while working on my flower girls' baskets and I'm finding it to be a really useful skill to have!! More photos on that a little later!

OMG... Flower girl dresses are so cute!!! Preciousness!

Thanks! :cheer2:

Regarding putting the wedding date on favors, I'm with you Jillian, and also have put our date on various items. In the event of a hurricane, I know this could come back to bite us, but I figured it's unlikely enough that it's worth the risk. If things do get messed up, I'll just try to take it with a grain of salt and not be overly concerned.

After this flub of a "hurricane" (it was seriously a JOKE!) I'm hoping that the weather cooperates enough to hold our cruise! I'm not terribly worried about that, though, especially since I'm an onboard bride. I just don't want my outdoor photos to be dimmed by a cloudy/rainy day. We shall see! (There's plenty of gorgeous spaces indoors, though!)

Your mickey stencil tutorial is fantastic! Definitely pinterest worthy :) So you're making tags for the soaps with the stencil?

Feel free to pin my tutorial! lol, that would be a first for me! I'm not going to label my current soaps with the stencil since most of them are already done, BUT I'm thinking that I may use that later on for future soaps.

Thanks so much for posting your rings! It was really great to see them! Your set is just gorgeous, and I love how intricate the bands of both matching rings are.

Thanks! If you look real close, the shape almost resembles the DCL logo!!!! If ONLY the diamonds in the middle had little "ears"!

Haha, sorry to make you jealous of my craftiness! You have a WONDERFUL aesthetic, though- I've loved all of your customization and choices so far- they all fit together so well! I'm thinking of just leaving the hanger as it is because... I don't want another project! :rotfl:

Yay!! Bunny photo!! She is just too adorable for words! She looks quite comfortable in her little storm hut. :goodvibes Mine are shedding terribly at the moment (yours looks like a movie star compared to them), so I won't embarrass them with photos

My bunny sheds constantly, She hasn't yet had a single humungo molt in her 1.5 years of life! You know I added the photo for you! I'm AMAZED that she stayed laying down even though I was laying on the floor to take the photo! She normally would bolt elsewhere or at least sit up!

Stay safe in the storm, and looking forward to more updates in the near future! Only like 2 more weeks!! Wow!!!

Oh geez, as I said... the storm was nothing. Yesterday it was breezy and it drizzled all day. Last night it rained all night and into the morning, but it dried up before I left the house. It was cloudy and windy tonight, but both nights they held BOTH shows of Fantasmic! Since they were worried about all of those last 4 shows being canceled, they ADDED a second show AND extended the park hours for tomorrow night to accommodate those guests who missed the show... except none of the shows were canceled!!! I was SUPPOSED to be off tomorrow, but they begged me to come in... and for some reason I said yes! Ahhhhhh! I need my days off to get things done! Ah, well. It's all overtime!

Jillian-

I meant to ask you. I never thought about going to Sephora for the makeup consultation. So, I checked my area. Did you go to a stand alone store or did you go to one inside a JC Pennys? Busch Gardens is closed today here

I went to a stand-alone Sephora store, not a department store one, it doesn't seem like they'd have a makeup specialist scheduled at all times if it wasn't a full Sephora, but you won't know if you don't ask! If it's for special occasion makeup, I think the consultation is totally worth it! We got almost everything she used on me (including the $40 concealer- the most expensive item in our basket! OUCH!) although I swapped some things for sample sized items and we looked for as many similar items at lower costs! The artist doesn't work on commission, so don't feel bad to ask them for recommendations of products that cost less!

I'm glad Isaac didn't inconvenience you much! It was a total bust over here, sunday it was just breezy and drizzly, and yesterday it rained all morning, then dried up and was windy! We didn't cancel a single Fantasmic during the "hurricane" but because of the THREAT of a hurricane, they ADDED a Fantasmic show tonight to accommodate the guests who didn't get to see the show because of the storm! Hah! Sadly for me, that means I'm now working on my Saturday when I SHOULD be working on wedding things! Oh well.

Oh, and WDW almost never closes. The ONLY time MK has ever closed was Hurricane Andrew and 09/11. They may close other parks in the event of incredibly severe weather, but they try to stay open no matter what! Water Parks are more likely to close because of the weather, but they were still open yesterday ;)

Just a little teaser post!

I was working on my flower girl baskets again yesterday! I got a set of two at Hobby Lobby for $5 or $8 ish... Spray painted them white and wrapped white ribbon around the handle of each, then I wrapped this pretty white/pink/silver rope cord around the handle, too.

Then my experience with making corsages and boutonnieres came in handy! I had some left-over miscellaneous floral that I got on "spring" clearance at JoAnn's (I used the other blooms for the flowers for my favor bags) I snipped off all of the blooms, wrapped floral wire around the tiny stem, then I wrapped the floral tape over the wire. Put the stems together and you have a bouquet! ...Or in this case a little flower pom for the baskets!

I still need to work on the second flower pom for the smaller basket and all of the ribbon ends need to be tucked away and secured, then I need to figure out HOW to anchor the flower poms! And just yesterday I ordered fuchsia and white silk flower petals from somebody on Etsy- they should match the basket perfectly! Anywho, here's a couple photos I snapped yesterday! Now I've got to get ready for a long 11 hour day at work on a day that's SUPPOSED to be my Saturday! *sighs* They tempted me with "It'll all be overtime..." lol :rotfl:

Ciao! :wave2:

Okay... I'm bad at the teaser posts, I guess... But I just remembered that my BFF/MOH had e-mailed me the bridal shower pictures a few days ago while I was at work (there's the "wedding brain" making me forget things again!) So here's a few photos for your viewing pleasure! Notice my pink heels- those are my wedding heels! I cheated and wore them out for my shower!

Glad to hear you stayed dry and Issac did not cause any issues for you.

Overtime is good, just think of all the ways you can use it to make soaps or what else for the wedding and your shop ;):rolleyes1

I also want to talk soap, but we got awhile for me;)

Hi Jillian!

Thanks for taking the time to respond to all my rambling in the previous post, hehe. I don't mean for it to come across so "stream of consciousness" but when I'm scrolling through your posts and see all this stuff I want to compliment or comment on, it sorta comes across like that  You just have too many fabulous wedding details!

The flower girl baskets look fantastic!! :cloud9: The white basket really makes the pink pop. Those will look really cute with their dresses! Did you decide what to do about flower petals?? Are you ordering them through DCL?

I think it's a brilliant idea to cheat and wear your wedding heels ahead of time! They looked super cute with the grey dress, and at least you'll know their comfort level before you wear them on your wedding day. Plus one of the really sad aspects of all this wedding attire is most of it will never get worn again, so if you can use it more than once, kudos to you :goodvibes

How funny is the Barbie/Ken wedding?? I cannot imagine how much time it took someone to put that together!

Starting my drive/move out to Houston tomorrow, so I may be out of pocket for the next couple of days. Hope the planning continues to go well, and the mouse doesn't work you too hard!! :)

Just dropping by for a quick second before work!

I just met with my photographer on Wednesday afternoon and we banged out a tentative schedule and shot list for our wedding day! She's even willing to let us put our attire back on and snap a few photos in Castaway Cay the next day! Tempting, I think I'll take her up on that offer! (Don't hate me, but I think CC is a little boring and that the ship is more fun to explore than laying on a beach... this may be my spoiled-ness from 24/7 access to WDW or my Floridian access to beaches year-round :rotfl:)

Anyways, while I was in Winter Garden Village for my meeting, I stopped into Bed Bath and Beyond to get a tie-hanger for Michael... I wound up finding a silicone mold for XL ice-cubes... and guess what! I now own a cube soap mold!! I decided to make a Mickey face soap with the cube mold to see how it turned out. Let me know what you think! (It's Violet Bamboo scented)

Anyways, off to Fantasmic I go!!! Bye!

Anyways, off to Fantasmic I go!!! Bye!

I know what you mean about the beach access, it's right down the road for us. We do love the cabanas though and Serenity Bay for lunch. We spend about half the day there with the kids before going back to the ship. I get my yummy Konk Koolers while at Castaway.

Love the soap, especially the colors, purple is my favorite color. I'm going to have to remember Violet Bamboo scent. Just may have you make that for me. I can't believe how close you are now. I'm excited for you. I'm still comprising my list of questions to Meredith before completing the paperwork.

Since we won't have time the day-of to get off the ship and take photos in Nassau, it may be a good idea to take a few beach photos on CC. Then get back onboard and take a loooong nap! Or ride Aqua Duck... I can't wait to have NOTHING that I need to be doing!

I like that purple, too. I used a pink liquid colorant, a blue liquid colorant, and two colors of micas- red blue mica and super pearly white mica. I may have "accidentally" added some shredded iridescent glitter, too. The addition of the Bamboo fragrance oil was just a whim to add a different note to the violet (it's technically "raspberry violet" but the raspberry is barely detectable). But really, if there's any other scents you like, check out http://www.brambleberry.com/Fragrance-Oils-C161.aspx for fragrance oils and http://www.brambleberry.com/Essential-Oils-C157.aspx for essential oils. Be careful, though- there's hundreds! Haha, my wish-list for this site is GINORMOUS!

And, yes! I am very excited! In exactly 2 weeks I'll be MARRIED! Both legally AND ceremoniously! Yay! :woohoo:

A CC bridal shoot?! That's such awesome news!! You will truly get the best of both worlds then--the privacy of an onboard ceremony with the awesome beach photographs associated with a CC wedding. So excited for you! :)

Love the new Mickey soaps!! The cube mold really shows off the Mickey well I think. You're going to have so many neat options for your new etsy shop ;)

2 weeks to go:cool1:

I would take her up on the offer and get some beach pics, and some with the boat :thumbsup2

Liking the soaps, just  how you accidentally found the XL ice cube tray;)

I finished the flower girl baskets this afternoon! Yay! I'd post a picture, but it looks just like the one I've already posted! The ends of the ribbons are secured and I finished up the two flower poofs. Bonus! The way I incorporated the flowers into the baskets is that the flowers are REMOVABLE! That way after all the petals have been thrown, you can take the flowers out of the baskets and use them as mini-bouquets! Lol, sometimes I love my ingenuity :rotfl2:

I also went back through all of my favor bags and added "Hidden Mickey" elements into the paint job! I'm so sneaky! I'm currently in the middle of re-sizing all of my images for the door magnets so I can put them all into one document and have that document printed instead of 50+ individual images printed! Save the trees, right? I'm adding two name tags per page, so hopefully that'll be a good size! After I have some of those printed and laminated (I'm thinking I'll go to Kinkos on tuesday...?) I'll snap a pic for everyone to see!

Anyways, back off to Fantasmic I go! Have you noticed this theme yet? :lmao:

So I was just finishing up my name tag graphics before I put them all into one document (resizing everything was a huge pain!) and I had seen some plain black Mickey Silhouette tags that said things like "Bride" "Groom" "Best Man" etc, BUT since they were so plain and boring, I took a blank Cinderella Castle Mickey Silhouette and added my own text to it! Here's a little peek for you. If anyone wants these I would be happy to e-mail them to you!

Those name tags are cute. If you emailed them to me, would I be able to change the wording??? I am thinking I might like to use these. But I don't need some of them.

You are very creative.

I'm a little late to your PJ but I just wanted to tell you how much I love those shoes! You are so creative and I love all your DIY crafts, especially the soaps and the flower girl baskets! I can't make anything crafty at all. I agree that you should definitely open an etsy shop. I can't wait to see pictures of your wedding. It sounds beautiful!
