~ºoº May 4, 2012 - Magic Heads to Key West! ºoº~

Hi everyone....just got confirmed today that I'll be going on this cruise for an AEP! I'm extremely excited as I've never cruised before, and it's going to be a great opportunity to learn everything so that I can explain it better to my clients!:goodvibes

Shelley, welcome aboard!
Does AEP mean all expenses paid? If so, I would be doubly excited!!!
Will your family get to come too?
Are you a TA?

HA! I wish! No, it's Agent Education Program kind of like a graduate program you can take after completing the College of Disney Knowledge...and no, unfortunately (maybe...maybe not??) no spouses or kids. I am a TA. :goodvibes

Oh, ok :guilty::blush: I am clueless to some of these Disney terms, it's like another language - I would never have figured out CDK. :confused3:lmao:
There is a lot about Disney cruises that my TA (who I was told was the agency's "Disney expert") doesn't know. When I was asking her about some things I had read here and on another cruise forum, she told me she had never done a Disney cruise. She didn't even know about the rotational dining. (Maybe she needs CDK.) So I think it is great that you will be doing this - as you said, it will be a big help to your clients for you to have this experience.
So will you have to share the cabin with another TA that you don't know? That could be interesting.

It really is like another language with all the abbreviations! When it comes to WDW, I am a pro, so it'll be nice to get experience in another area...it's a shame your TA isn't more knowledgeable, but at least she was honest and told you she hasn't done a cruise before. The DIS boards are a great resource...I keep finding myself coming back to the DCL forum just to read up and learn more little things that are "experienced" cruiser knowledge, you know?

All the cabins are based on double occupancy, so I could potentially be paired up with someone that I don't know...I guess they generally try to pair people up from the same regional office (I'm with AAA) but I don't think anyone else in my program is going on the cruise as of yet.

So, will this be your first time to Key West and Nassau?
Will you get to spend port time as you wish or will you have a set schedule to follow? I guess you will have some "classes" on board the ship while we are at sea, right?
Sorry, for all the questions, but I just find this interesting.

I find it interesting too, this is half the reason I'm going! Yes, there are some seminars onboard that we have to attend, but also it's really to learn about cruising and seeing the ports of call and activities on board. It will be my first time to both locales, so I'm very excited about that. After reading some more online, I'm very excited about eating in Palo too!

My DH and I will be going on our first Disney cruise May 4th sailing! I plan on decorating the door for his 50th birthday. I am a member of a Gasparilla krewe in Tampa and we are all pirates. With that said, I am going to dress up for the Pirates IN The Carribean Party. I think I will bring beads (throws) for the kids too). My question is, can I use magnetic adhesive on the verandah stateroom doors. Someone said the interior stateroom doors were metal but the exterior doors were not. Any clue? pirate:

Would anyone still like to do the FE exchange? I would like to participate. We are two adults. If it is a small group I can be in charge.

We will be joining you guys on this cruise as well :thumbsup2 This is far from our first cruise...although it is our daughters first cruise :lovestruc She may be the youngest of the crew onboard at 3 months old :goodvibes we are breaking her into the Disney spirit early. My son who is 6 has been sailing since he was a year and a half old. We are very excited to be sailing again (have missed the time off since being pregnant and having her and waiting till she was old enough to sail) and we are hoping to eventually get to sail aboard one of the new ships in the possible near future :cloud9: Oh and to introduce myself:

Name is Shauna (or tazgirl) and We are a new family of 4, with my Hubby Mike and my son Christopher (6) and my daughter Mackenzie (3 months almost 4 at time of sailing)

just found out I am on this cruise today, and so sad that this thread seems so inactive! We would love to do FE! We have done it the past 3 DCL cruises and loved it.
I was bummed this 5 nighter didn't include 2 stops at CC (we have done 2 previous double dips) but we are still excited!

I just got off the Fantasy on the preview cruise, it is gorgeous, but I still love the Magic!:thumbsup2

Hey All!

Amelia and family had to change their cruise date, so they will not be joining us. But we do have another participant in the FE! Here is the updated list (and I will be sending an updated spreadsheet to all)..

Participants to date
Linden Lady - Amanda (2 adults, 2 boys)
wiggles02 - Kendra (2 adults, 2 boys)
schepp - Joseph (2 adults, 1 girl)

Hi All! This was the last post I made for the FE (with my name removed) prior to having to bow out of this sailing (we are now sailing on May 9th). I believe Joseph was going to take this over, but now cannot recall for certain. If any of you current posters would like to take this on, let me know and I can send you the details of what I have.
