FREE DINING UPDATE- RUMOR and SPECULATION / Update Page 80 !

Well, it is after 7am on Monday, April 13 and I called to see if there were any new promotions i.e. Free Dining. Was told by CM that the only Free Dining offers he's seen were for QSD via a package booked w/a Pin Code. :headache: And the only general public promo currently out is the one on the commercial where Kids play & eat free. So in a nut shell, I guess we'll still have to wait & see :confused3 I was so hoping to hear some good news to share :hippie:

One Further Note:

I did hear over the weekend with some degree of certainty there will be (no big surprise here) a fall promo... and it won't be released til later in April or early May..

Why is Disney waiting so late ? The info from the first post in this thread appears to be accurate - Disney is more concerned about May right now.. and trying to increase the 'nearer' bookings ...

At least that's what I'm hear from several different sources.

Oh, I got all excited for an exciting update on page 80 today!!! Just gotta calm down now and wait til may.....
Thanks CanadianGuy!!

Does anyone know how many promos Disney ever has going at once? Right now the up to 30% of is booked by August 14th and the kids play/stay free promo is book by May 8th, so I am thinking a Fall promo wouldn't be announced until after May 8th, which is a Saturday, so I would speculate that the fall promo would start on Monday the 10th?
Thoughts.....

That's my guess.. but at this point that is all this is -- a guess.

Just curious

I booked a 2 bedroom villa at Bay Lake Towers with a 40% off the cost of the room bounceback offer.

I was just curious if a free dining offer was to come out are you able to apply free dining with the bounceback or are you only allowed to do one offer at a time on a vacation package.

Please tell me that your sources say it will be after next week. I know none of us on here want to wait any longer, but I have a selfish reason- I will be out of the country all of next week. I was hoping either it would come out today or wait until April 26.

For the past four years or so, I have made our reservations and ADRs ahead of time and when the date for FD is announced, I call that morning at 7AM to get the FD attached to my reservations and have had no problems about having to change dates or resorts. So when it comes out this year, I will be doing the 7AM dance here on the PC and the phone at the same time!!!!

I just read on AOL that they are expecting a VERY AVTIVE HURRICANE season...while it starts in June it could start before but peaks around September:scared1:...With this news Disney should be running scared:scared1:They better release some fall promos FAST!!!:rolleyes1Just saying:rolleyes1:cheer2:Let's add some :wizard:pixie dust:wizard:

As our weatherman around here (in hurricane country) says: It never matters how many storms there are, it's where they land. You can have a very active season with 20 storms where 18 of 20 stay out to sea. And you can have a relatively low season of eight storms, where 6 out of 8 hit populated areas. I doubt Disney is going to take bets on them all landing in Fl. And yes, I agree, they do say an active season almost every year. Keeps you tuned in.

It wouldn't surprise me to see another deal come out for June-Aug 14TH on May 10TH, which would be book by early June and then the fall promo come out after that one. I have heard more than one rumor say June. So I am not thinking they are in any hurry to release anything.

I selfishly am hoping the same thing. I have been going crazy waiting for FD, but I will be in Canada for a work meeting all of next week - with 0 access to the internet. My luck - FD will be annouced next week....

I am sad that we are not able to go this spring, sounds like the place is fairly empty! ;)

YAY for it not being to long now! We decided if we get free dining we will book for next Spring while we are there with our extra vaca Moolah!

We are arriving on the 14th so it could work for me! :) Only really if it is free dining though. I already have the 25% from the begining of the year. I am still praying for the QSDP pin as this is really what we need!!! :)

Sorry, no double discounts...you're only allowed one discount per reservation.
And in general, the big discounts at the villas are a much deeper discount than free dining would give you.

The only double-discount I've ever seen was a couple of times they had offered bounceback free dining on "select" villas that gave free dining and I think it was a 30% discount on the rooms - all categories were not available and it was just two resorts: That was for Saratoga Springs & Old Key West, though...think they were just trying to increase usage there and get more people to see some of the DVC properties.

You would have to choose one or the other, you could not combine both discounts, sorry.. number crunch it for the number of people in your party, (if the promo is offered for your room type) and see which works out best for your needs.

Always easy to book now and alter the ressie later at least you would get the resort and view you want

That is backfiring since now many resorts are already full so why should Disney bother to offer free dining? Everyone booking early is ruining any change of a great offer!

Disney Visa holders have until April 24th to book with the current offer available to them (kids stay, play and eat free) That's a Saturday. I'm hoping they announce the fall promo that Monday April 26th to the cardmembers and then on Thursday April 29th to the general public!

:goodvibesWe're going no matter what. If we get free dining (hope so) great if not. Just less money to spend in the parks. We will have a great time no matter what. Good Luck with everyone that wants FD! That includes me as well:cool1:

Well, I went ahead and booked using our PIN for free QSDP rather than waiting any more.

August 13-27 at CSR!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Haven't booked our flights yet, as I'm still hoping for a FD offer, and then we'll just try and make the change to our ressie, but since we're going either way, it just made sense to go ahead and book it now!!:wizard:

People pre book in anticipation of free dining every year and every year someone comes here to post this same thing. The bookings haven't "ruined" free dining in the past, so why should this year be any different?
