The current plan is to do excursions and to carry him/her along. Cathy doesn't envision herself being able to leave the baby in Flounders, so we will likely skip Palo on this trip. Honestly though, are plans are going to remain pretty fluid. This is our first baby, so we honestly have no clue and will be pretty much winging it.

Going with the flow sounds like the best plan :) Jack was 6 months when we went, it was our first ever cruise and it was just the best. We were really in need of a complete break and that was it - waking up in the morning, feeding him, having something nice delivered to the room. Eating, dozing off again. Getting up .... going for breakfast ;) Coming back to the room .... to find all the clothes tidied, the bathroom clean, the bed made ..... well you know what its like from your cruises but it was just a dream for us! Eating fab food, being waited on hand and foot. We even got to go to new places and take a look around ;)

We carried Jack a lot too. I'm really into the baby wearing/ sling thing for the baby as well as convenience. I had a mei tai made out of a cool mickey fabric especially!

Its just too exciting!

I'd say a couple of days, maybe three if you've got time to spare as opposed to getting it done as quickly as possible. We've not been for a few years so I think they have added to the Studios since then. But we didn't find there was that much to actually do there. It was nice and new and shiny though.

The original park is lovely too, even though its not new any more it does seem to have a certain something in the detail over Florida maybe, but its small too :-)

The Disney Village is just outside the park gates so theres more choice of where to eat and of course most of the hotels are within easy walking distance too.

The last time we were there I think we popped out to Val d'Europe for supplies. It has a huge hypermarket which is always good fun in another country anyway.

It was expensive last time we went but we've looked into going this year and £/Euro exchange is making it prohibitive. It makes the cruise look good value!! We've never done a dining package but I think for us now it would take the stress out of what to eat or even if to eat some meals!

Thanks! I am trying to see if the money will work for us. Hopefully there will be some specials next June.

I'll try and find it. I know that Scott and Lynn went after the TA cruise. I know that another person said that they paid $23 for a hamburger. We won't be doing Paris. I'm trying to squeeze in a couple of days.

I would at least like to see the Eiffel Tower. I'd like to see the Louvre, but that will have to wait for another trip.

We'll be doing DLP on DVC points (if I can convince dad to this) and I know you have to book a min. 3 night stay.

If you want to read that blog just go to allears and I think they have a link to it on the homepage, if not click on blog central at the top and it's under "The world according to Jack Spence".

I found it and read it. I'm hoping that I can manage it for a few days before doing London and then the cruise. I just have to figure out how to get to London from Paris.

You should check out the Eurostar :) direct either from DLP or Paris Gare du Nord - takes about 2 hours. Fast check in, something like 30 mins before you leave. No getting to the airport which is miles out of town and having to hang around for hours. Its fantastic!

Definitely look at the Chunnel train. That's what I'm looking into to get us from London to Paris. It's like a two and a half hour train ride and I bet Brent would love it.:thumbsup2

When we did the British Isle cruise, we flew to CDG Paris from Newark NJ on Continental. We took the disney bus to DLP and stayed 3 nights at Hotel New York. We took the chunnel train back to London and stayed at the Marriott right next to the train station. The morning of the cruise we took the train from London to Southampton. We loved DLP and would do it again if we had the money. After the cruise we stayed at a hotel near the airport, and took the train into London. We also saw "Mary Poppins". We had a blast but the trip was very expensive.

I will ditto this, also very easy to get from DLP to Paris, nice train ride and the station is right there. I believe it is the RER Red line. We took it to Arc de Triumph, and then walked to Notre Dame , and took the train back from there, had a nice picnic lunch in the park near the Lovre.

Sorry folks...I am not able to insert a photo of the lanyard for some reason. If someone can give me instructions, I'm happy to do it!

Using the dates this year the Eurostar is $189 from DLP to London. British airways is $85. Am I missing something? I thought the train would be cheaper.

here's an old article that kind of sums up the pros and cons:

For my money you are paying for the amazing convenience. The train goes direct either from the centre of Paris or from DLP straight into the centre of London. There is no hanging around waiting, check in and security are painless as you keep your baggage with you. To fly involves getting out of the city to the airport at either end plus the long check in times that you have to allow for international travel and locating your baggage at the other end.

They only release fares 3 months ahead which is a bit annoying but they do occasionally have promotions and sometimes codes etc in the national newspapers. I can keep my eyes out when the time comes :-)

I'd go on the train every single time even though its more expensive. It is SO convenient there is just no competition.

hope that helps!

yes, that is right and I had been looking for train from Scotland to London and told had to wait 3 months to book it...as we are going for single way so maybe we are looking at flight now to see which are cheaper!!

Any thoughts on the Hovercraft across the channel????

well I had been Hovercraft long times ago in England but only go to France and Paris is further away.. best way if want go to Disneyland, go by euro train...becasue Disneyland hotel is nearing the train station...

They're quite good fun if you have a strong stomach! Its quite a way from the coast to Paris though. I guess it depends on your priorities - time/ convenience/ sight seeing/ travelling/ cost etc

Our plan is to arrive a few days before the Barcelona to Dover cruise, not sure where yet, Paris, Frankfurt, Barcelona, or London. Get Eurail to fit the arrival city to departure port of Barcelona, then take a few days after we return from this cruise to continue train travel back to the city where we arrived.
