Weekends, bah humbug. When you work at home, there are no weekends! Only difference, I notice that I don't have to get up early to shoo Alicia out the door.

Oh, and it's Saturday, so Kevin is off teaching scuba. That's how I know.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HUM BUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mine was NOT GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope everyones was better???????????????????????????

gaRRy

WHY? Did something bad happen??

This new 'do is soooo easy!! Ten minutes and I'm out the door! And I can make it look like the stylist did! Most days I won't...will just sort of ruffle it up, but I can curl it nice like she did!

My friend drove me to JoAnn and a couple of other places I needed to go. We got a big piece of 5" foam to put on the scooter. That should do the trick.:thumbsup2

Good job on the new doo Stacey. Sounds like a lot of us are having problems with deciding what to do with our hair. I really really hate mine right now. trying to let the layers grow out and see about wearing a short one length bob, but I am sure having problems. It is so fine and strait that I am not sure how much longer I can stand it before I decide to cut it off and get a body wave. My hair just has no body.

And now that Ashley is starting the 2 a day practicies (5:30 A.M. and 5:00 p.m., I have to be ready for work when we walk out the door at 5:15 a.m. Decisions, Decisions.

I had a shock today, as we were previously talking during the week about Senior Photos. There was a message from the school automated system yesterday saying that all seniors must have their senior photos taken at a certain photographers by September 29. Great, I think because the only day we can do them is on a Saturday and we have something going on over the next few weekends. Called this morning and had to take the only appointment they have next Saturday at 1 p.m. Now, what really makes me mad is that they said they mailed something out in June about this. Well, I check all the mail and we had nothing, nada zip. When I called back, I was told that they did a bulk mailing to all students and they had our record on file, except that whoever did the bulk mailing for them must had made some mistakes, because they were getting lots of calls where people said they didn't get the flyer. I called another friend that has a senior and she said she got hers and there were lots of specials on it. Unfortunately, for me, if you went in the summer for the pictures before school started they had a special and you only had to pay 1/2 of the sitting fee, plus other discounts on packages. I am now going to complain about this next weekend when we go in. I feel the $$$ starting to flow out of my wallet. I just paid $53 for another SAT test, need to register for the Math SAT Subject test (must have for admittance to the UT Engineering School). The SAT scores from the Spring were pretty high the first time, but his counselor recommended him taking again to see if he could increase for better scholarship opportunities. The three schools he is mainly interested in he far exceeds their scores. I will have to start paying the application fees for each institution, plus housing deposits, because they fill up and they say it is better to pay up front and decide later which school you want, so that you get your choice of dorms. WOW, starting to overload on all that is involved.

Oh well, hope everyone else had a great rest of the weekend.

Pam, you have every right to be mad, and to demand the discount that was offered...especially since the photog admitted that a lot of people didn't get the letter in the mail.

My hair is really thin and straight, too, but I haven't had a perm or body wave in years. With the right cut...which I'm thinking more and more for me, that means short and layered...and a little gel or mousse, your hair WILL do what you want it to do. I am helpless when it comes to fixing hair. My poor girls never even had a decent braid, let along a French Braid....so if I can make this style look okay, then you could too.

And I was worried that my face was too round for shorter hair, but I don't think it looks bad. Jay and a couple other people have said that they think I look younger with it short.
Hey...I think Diana said that too! Thanks, Diana!

Hi all! Just got back from a nice dinner with Jim. We went to Wildfire Grill.

Here's a photo taken in front of a wall of wine. :)

LOL Me too! I got all mine cut off around December I think! Since it was so long, and my hair is so thin and stright, it was not doing me any favors. I had it cut to about my shoulders, and some layers put in and it gives it so much more body! It looks and feels great! If you remember from lasts years cruise, I had hair almost to my backside :-) It were a lot of hair!

Good morning everyone!

Sending prayers and pixie dust to Stacey as she has her surgery today. Good luck Stacey! pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yes, we had a great time. Mark and mary picked a great restaurant.

I even got to see Mark's work and now understand all the posts about the construction happening around their building.

It sure is fun to have DIS friends in some many parts of the country! Sharon will need to keep them posted about Lisa's Chicago meet so we can do another DIS meet in Feb.

And yes, for all you non-Michigan fans, Mary did bring up the neceessary ribbing in fun.

Mary did bring up the neceessary ribbing in fun.

Of course she did... after all, what are DIS-friends for? Sure we spend a lot of time encouraging each other and agonizing with each other, but what fun would it be if we couldn't bring out the proverbial 'stick-pokey-guy' every now and then???? :)

Prayers & PD for Stacey this morning... and for my mom too... the whole mess that she was in about a month ago has gottten worse, and now she has permanently lost about 30% of her vision in one eye... she's having some kind of 4-hour neurological test this morning to find out if her vision is going to continue to fail or if they can stop the damage.... she's scared and so are all of the rest of us.
