A Make A Wish Trip - Final Update!! Pg. 33

Disney is very special. They have an amazing way with the kids. I was also amazed at how many didn't just ignore Danae. Not that she would allow herself to be ignored. :rotfl:

CK, they did an amazing job pulling my son out even when he was melting down. They seemed to instictively know when to keep pushing and when to back down.

LeeLee, this was the break we needed. We were on the verge of splitting apart and this trip gave us a new lease on life.

720L, thanks for the compliments. I hope to get the rest of Monday done by today but its not looking good. My sister is supposed to be here sometime today to move in. Wheeeee!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Back to HP now. :rotfl:

I am so on board. God Bless you're beautiful family.

A little prayer I wrote when I was 13.

Through your darkest days,
and darkest nights.
Let the lord shine his bright light.
And In intesive care he will keep you,
all though out your challenging life.

Wendy,
Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share your trip with us. After reading about your interactions with Peter Pan, I have to wonder if you are THE Wendy from the story :confused3 .

We will be taking my DD to GKTW :wizard: September 17-23. I have been doing a lot of obsessive research on the trip :surfweb: , GKTW and the Theme Parks, but nothing has touched me like your story. I broke down and cried :scared: .

You definitely have the better pictures than any I have seen online :cheer2: . Is it okay if I appropriate them for private use (the ones of GKTW places) :rolleyes1 ?

I am so excited about going that I may become a nuisance to my friends and family :yay: . It is the main thing I do in my leisure time :surfweb: . I am enjoying the study, planning and prep time almost as much as I will enjoy the trip (I am sure I will change my mind after the magic starts).

My DD princess: and I are very close. She is my "Sugar Baby" and the light of my world. It has been so hard seeing her go through all of the "stuff," but it is always an honor to go with her through it. Now, I get to share in the good stuff pirate: ; seeing her filled with joy and wonder to the max :cloud9: .

Bill

Bill, it is great to hear you are so close to your dd. It is hard for a family to stay together when a child is so very ill. I am sure it means the world to her that you are by her side. And thank you for your kind remarks about our story. I am glad it has touched you and that it will help you. I, too, also enjoyed all the study, planning and prep time. I do hope you have looked over the book called something like Walt Disney World and Your Special Needs. It is a few years old but has lots of tips including a map with approximate times to get from one attraction to another. The new one is said to be coming out soon but not sure when. The pictures come from a CD that GKTW gave us. The told us not to waste time/energy/memory space/film on taking pictures of the resort as they would give us stock photos. And they sure did. They gave pictures of everything we saw and things we never got to! You'll see more of it as I go on my trip reports. I am excited for you and your trip. I know it will be magical. :wizard:

Well, HP three down. Now I gotta go rent four. Will I find the time to update my Monday trip by tonight? Not sure. My sister is in the house and unpacking. My dh is out with all three children (3, 4, 5 years old). Baby is napping. DBIL is unloading. What am I doing? Better go. ;)

BTW, if anyone is going on their wish trip before I have finished here and would like to see my dh's full account, PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Wendy, Bill Lin clued me in to this thread. It is fantastic! Our DS's trip is in early December and you make us even more eager to go. Keep it coming, please. Karen

Darlin'...I am here! I saw you on my TR and followed your link. May I say I am humbled by your family and how wonderful you are! I am loving your trippie and I will be anxiously awaiting more. What an inspiration and what a fabulous trip!

Hey Wendy and wish families:

You mentioned the Passporter's guide, Walt Disney World for your Special Needs. FYI, The first edition is currently out of print, and the second edition is not due out until September. We contacted the publisher directly. There is a possibility that they may sell the e-book before then. I'll let everyone know here know more as I do....

Looking forward to more trip report :)....Hope your sister and her family are getting settled in and things are well at the Mick and Wendy household.

Wendy, I'm loving your TR! Your family is so special! The kids are adorable! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

Thanks for the info on the book. I got a copy of mine by interlibrary loan so if anyone is having any issues, try your local library!

My sister is moved in and starting to settle. We have only had a few medium sized incidents with the children. Gotta love this age range!

Wendy, I'm loving your TR! Your family is so special! The kids are adorable! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

Thank you

Loving your TR! Can't wait to read more.

Thanks.

I have most of Monday written. I just have to write about dinner on. Lots of pics. I was hoping I could get some of the photopass pics in but that's probably not going to happen. I've done a lot of :laundy: today.

Oh, and we rented HP 4! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I am hoping to get Monday up by tomorrow as we have company coming out from Virginia tomorrow night and then I have to travel to St. Louis with Michael for a doctor's appt from Tuesday through Saturday. Wish me luck!

Just found your trip report, and I'm lovin it!!!! You have a beautiful family!!! Can't wait for more!!!:goodvibes

Alright. Here's my take. Quite the bit similiar but a few added details especially for future Wish Trippers...oh and more pictures!!

So, as I mentioned. The night prior, Sunday, noone fell asleep before midnight. We are plum exhausted. The kids are sleeping in their room (which is a miracle since they still sleep with us at home) and we are finally in our own bed at the villa. Snoring comes from my dh and all hopes (or is it fears?) of anything happening that night are gone. Soon sleep overtakes me and next thing I know, Mick's up taking a shower. I roll out of bed and switch with Mick. I find him dozing on the couch of our villa. No biggie. I wake him and send him off to hunt down some breakfast. Grumble, grumble but he is off to the Gingerbread House.
0570GingerbreadHouseRestaurant.jpg

I wake the kids. Give them a quick rinse down and dress them. Today they are wearing their special magical outfits made by my MIL, requested by me.
013_13.jpg

You don't see the back of Michael's outfit here but it had a pirate ship flying across a silver moon. I love it!
012_12.jpg

Mick gets back, I make sure I have everything packed while he feeds said kids and off we go. Regardless of what has previously been reported, I do not forget said tickets. Those are neatly in my bag, packed the night before. We do make two trips back as I thought I had forgotten the guest assistance card and the stroller as a wheelchair pass. I hadn't. Just too foggy headed at the moment. Too early for me. As we leave for the third time, I ask if he has the directions. Since he is the driver, silly me thought he'd read the directions in the bunny book he was looking at the night before. Oops. I learn quickly that I need to bring the bunny book to the car with us. We call GKTW on the phone and get the directions. Its an easy drive and about 20 minutes.

Plan: spend 1/2 day at MK and 1/2 day at Epcot with either a break or not at GKTW depending on how the kids are doing. We must meet my fellow Dis friends at Off-Kilter and we are really looking forward to this. We also have Michael's bday dinner scheduled for about 6pm at the Garden Grill.

We get out of the car and I take pictures of the signs of where we park. Mick laughs at me. I tell him that I am sure he will remember where we parked after being at Disney for five or more hours. He scowls at me. It is now about 830 am or so. A little behind what I had hoped to be but not bad. We miss the first tram which results in a temper tantrum from Michael. Lasts about two seconds when he realizes that another tram is right behind it. We squeeze in with the rest of the World. Off to the transporation center. I know about the monorail so head us straight for the front. They see Michael's GKTW pin and wave us in. Yay!! Kids are loving it!
015_15.jpg

014_14.jpg

The driver is from near where we are from. Mick chats and the kids are just having a blast watching the monorail go through the contemporary and then on to the World.

TBC...

Ok. So now the coordination of two children and well, Mick, to the front, through the turnstiles, take a picture (photopass not back yet), to strollers (free stroller for GKTW kids, either single or double, kid must be present) for a double stroller, to guest services for stroller as a wheelchair sticker (GKTW gives you all the other accomodations you may need), and noone has lost a kid yet. But that's where luck runs out. See, as I was getting the pass, Mick has taken the kids to the potty (right next to guest services which is in City Hall) and as I am standing by the stroller, here comes Michael out of the giftshop holding a Tinkerbell autograph book and he gets into the stroller. Well, that's odd. I ask Michael where daddy is. "I dunno". "Where's Danae?" "With daddy". "Where did you get that?" "At the store" "Does daddy know" "I dunno". Oh boy. So off we go to the shop (next to the pottys) and return said autograph book. And out strolls my dh with Danae. "Have you seen Michael?" says DH. This does not bode well for the rest of the day. *big sigh* We manage to get the kids back into their stroller and off we go to find the Barber Shop! Oh, there it is! Just past the gift shop! This is good. It is 910am at this point and there is about three people ahead of us. Not bad as there are two "barbers".
As we are waiting I spy a Lime Green shirt from a lady getting her child's haircut. I take another look and I see it says "Dis" on it. I say "hey lady. Are you with the Disboards". And she is! Her name is Diana (or is it Diane) and she hangs out on the Community boards she says. I don't go there so we have no idea who each other are but I've made my first Dis connection!

The haircuts are soooooo worth it! $14 each for haircuts plus a tip (tip cannot be added to the card, btw, must be cash). We have a reasonable wait and then both kids get their haircuts at the same time.
Michael gets his hair cut by Michael and he requests a Peter Pan haircut. I start to explain what that means and then I realize "oh, I'm in Disney World". We laugh and the barber Michael says "I cut Peter Pan's hair all the time". Michael's ecstatic.
020_20.jpg

Final product!
022_22.jpg

Danae is getting her first haircut! She toys with the idea of a haircut like her daddy but decides on mainly a trip and just a bit below her shoulders. Long enough to put in a ponytail but short enough to keep it down as she likes it.
017_17.jpg

for those who don't know. a first haircut gets you a clipping of hair as well as a free pair of ears that say "first haircut" on the back
021_21.jpg

They ask if I want gel in her hair. I say "no". Mick says"let her". She chooses Cinderella Blue. BTW, they no longer are allowed to do updos as the BBB is coming to WDW. Makes me sad but oh well.
023_23.jpg

She puts cinderella decals (carriages, castles, slippers, etc) in the gel. She then mentions the stuff takes about an hour to dry. Oh joy!
024_24.jpg

We now must get ourselves all the way to Fantasyland, our next stop. Down the street
025_25.jpg

and around the castle through Liberty Square.
026_26.jpg

What first?
Kinda hard to miss the caroussel so off we go. We get right on and find Cinderella's horse (has a ribbon around its tail).
027_27.jpg

028_28.jpg

Then on to Peter Pan. We go to the first CM we see, show her Michael's button and we are set through the wheelchair line and we are on before we know it. Michael decides to ride with me. Danae with daddy. Boy, it is dark and I have a hard time finding Michael with my camera.
029_29.jpg

Now what? Michael starts to sing "Its a Small World After All". Oh good. Right across PP. Another flash and we go through the exit alllllllll the way around. We get into the next boat. By ourselves!!!! The boat behind us fills but there's noone waiting in line. Boy this ride flips fast!
033_33.jpg

034_34.jpg

Now what? Peter Pan it is and on we go again. This time Danae with me and Michael with Daddy. Get right on but I don't take pictures this time. I had missed much of it the first time and got one decent picture so I wasn't even going to try.

Then? It's a small world, the carrousel, PP and then again. Back to the caroussel and then over to the castle to see about any last minute cancellations. They don't have any but they'll make room for us if we come back right at noon. It's 1115 am. No problem. We discuss leaving after lunch. Great! Then we can head out to Epcot after a small break at GKTW. At which point I realize I have forgotten the Birthday pin and 1st visit pins from guest services. Mick agrees to do Dumbo while I run around to guest services. We agree to meet up at Mickey's Philharmagic for the 1140am showing. Oh boy! Off I go.

Surprisingly enough, I do get back just in time for the show (don't need the GAC). We get good seats. Kids like it but Michael does have trouble with the sound being too loud (I did bring earplugs which helped!).

We show up at CRT. Have a small trouble with the new agent knowing about getting us in but worked out in a jiffy and we are off to get in line to see Cinderella. While we wait to go into the waiting room, Michael's getting impatient. One of the worker's gets down to eyelevel and just starts talking with him. It was such a relief as he was working himself into another tantrum (rememember, autistic like features here). Finally we get into the waiting room. Oh pottys!! There is a companion bathroom right there!! Mick takes kids to the potty. Yeah!

035_35.jpg

036_36.jpg

037_37.jpg

038_38.jpg

042_42.jpg

She spent a nice bit of time talking to both of them but they were so excited that I never got a good picture. :( The pic we got from the photographer wasn't much better either. Oh well.

So off we go to get seated. Danae gets handed a wand and Michael a sword. We are seated right away (oh, there are bathrooms on the way upstairs between stairs landings). We get good seats. Dh learns that kids must be seated on the outside so the characters can get to them. I understand his concern though that Michael may run. We plant him between us. He vows to watch him. We tell our waiter that it is Michael's bday and we prepare for lunch. Michael complains he wants a wand and not a sword so his is switched without blinking an eye. I don't even know what we ate. I know I had some sort of sandwich and Mick got what the waiter recommended. The kids did eat whatever it was we got them. The fish for Michael and chicken for Danae, i think.

The fairy godmother came by. She was nice. The waiter drops off the Bday card for the princesses to sign with Cinderella's already on there.
Then we get Jasmine.
Michael takes after his father.
049_49.jpg

051_51.jpg

I then ask Jasmine if she'd mind taking a picture with my dh as she is his favourite princess. I kid you not, she says, "I'm all the daddies favourite". You have already seen the pic that comes after that. LOL

We then get Snow White.
053_53.jpg

054_54.jpg

Then Belle.

We eat and then comes the Wish thing they do. Quite a bit corny, btw, but the kids seemed to like it.
059_59.jpg

060_60.jpg

And then Michael's bday cupcake (remember, we have a cake at home and we are still supposed to go to Epcot this evening for his bday dinner).
062_62.jpg

063_63.jpg

And his bday present
064_64.jpg

And ice cream

So "then we go to the Wish Lounge" says my dh. Well, here is how it goes...
Mick: Ok, lets head out and go to GKTW for a nap.
Me: I'd like to stop at the Wish Lounge. I hear its amazing.
Mick: I'd really like to get out of here so the kids can nap.
Me: Well, the Wish Lounge is on our way out. Let's give it a quick look-see.
Mick: oh, alright.

So we head around the castle through Liberty Square and we see First Aid. Thankfully I remember that the Lounge is by the First Aid so we head in that direction. As you step into the lobby of the "First Aid", first aid is directly ahead, the baby room is to the right (I believe) and the Wish Lounge is to the left with a "Aladdin" writing that says "The Wish Lounge" I believe. We knock and go in. I have video of this room but no pictures without us front and center. Sorry. We were so overwhelmed that I actually didn't take pictures this first time around. It is a small living room feeling and two guest service people "man" it. There is a couple couches and chairs, a small fridge and a computer for the CM. There is a TV and a huge pillow in the middle. There is a chess board and a small toybox. Everything looks so classy and the CMs are awesome. That day we had Mark and Alexis. They were so sweet. Made us feel comfortable right away. So we get handed water bottles. There is a bathroom right outside a side door (connecting the Wish Lounge to the First Aid by a small hallway where there is a men's and a women's bathroom, both with handicap accessible stalls). We cycle through the potty breaks. Mick gets to talking and talking and talking. Mentions Michael's wish. Alexis gets on the phone. Whisper, whisper. She asks how long we'll be around. She disappears. Comes back, asks us more questions. Whisper, whisper on the phone. Time is passing and Danae is begging to sleep at this point. I look at Mick. He's still yapping. I've had enough and put Danae down. She's out. Mick looks at me finally. I shrug. Sorry. She was exhausted. So he tries to put Michael done. Michael is bouncing off the walls, he's so tired. Mick lays down with him. Mick falls asleep. Michael gets up. Finally, Alexis says, Michael perhaps you can take a nap. I've been talking to Tinkerbell and she says if you take a nap, she'll have a surprise for you. Mick is still asleep. Michael starts to calm down. I kick Mick down to the big pillow in the middle. I lay down with Michael on one of the couches. Michael looks up at Mark and Alexis. They feign sleep. Michael finally settles and, amazingly enough, takes a nap in the middle of the Magic Kingdom. Now is that Magic or what?!

Both kids sleeping and Mick finally wakes up. "What am I doing down here?". Never mind Mick.

So we chat up Mark and Alexis. She does tell is that we may want to stick around for the 3pm parade. Its wonderful, she says. We tell her we plan on being back later in the week. She does insist that we see the parade and that Tinkerbell says to come back afterwards. We finally catch on. It is now about 2:30 pm. We are talking rather loudly hoping the children get up soon. No go. Their exhausted. At 250pm we decide to wake them. Amazingly enough they are in good spirits, both hurry through the bathroom and we are out the door by 257pm. The tell us where to go for the handicap seats as we figure it'd be best for Michael to stay seated in his stroller or we are very likely to loose him.

By 3pm we find the handicap access area (just to the left of first aid near the Mickey and Walt Statue) and I try to get into it. Aimee stops me and asks if she can help. I point to my gang who is rounding the corner. She takes one look and leads us into the section which is surprisingly enough not very full. We take our seats. In this viewing area, the parade reached us from the left at about 310pm. As we are waiting, Joey, another CM, stops by and says "hi" and wishes Michael a Happy Birthday. We see he is working on getting all the wheelchairs and strollers lined up and getting little kids arranged in front of us.

I can't even tell you what he saw. I just focused on his reaction to the parade.
067_67.jpg

Here's the Lead Up...
071_71.jpg

072_72.jpg

073_73.jpg

074_74.jpg

And here is the point and "Happy Birthday Michael" (how do they read those pins from up there?!)
075_75.jpg

The wave
076_76.jpg

And what I caught after I stopped to take a picture of what he was seeing.
077_77.jpg

Now here is a picutre of Danae seeing her most favourite character in the whole wide world...
080_80.jpg

082_82.jpg

And Minnie Mouse
085_85.jpg

It was an awesome parade and I still have the song stuck in my head. I love it and want a copy of it. I hope they put the music out soon. I will play it over and over again and get tears in my eyes every time.

After wiping my eyes and getting the kids into their "magical carriage" as it has been dubbed, we head back to the Wish Lounge to "relax".

We get more water. We are sitting around just "resting" when in walks none other than Peter Pan! Michael takes one look at the door, looks at his father and says "Oh my goodness!"

086_86.jpg

Showing Peter his hat.
087_87.jpg

The look of pure wonder.
088_88.jpg

Being shy.
089_89.jpg

Just talking. Peter notes his outfit and his green shirt.
090_90.jpg

Michael undresses for Peter to show him his Peter Pan shirt underneath.
091_91.jpg

A picture with the kids with Peter...
093_93.jpg

Then he recommends a family portrait.
095_95.jpg

This one I will be framing for his room, I think.
096_96.jpg

And the people who made it happen.
098_98.jpg

Mark and Alexis just did an awesome thing for our family. They made an already awesome day even more spectacular. How do you beat a day like this? You don't. But you live off the high for weeks to come.

So now what do we do? Its now about 430 pm. Its highly doubtful that we'd get ourselves pulled together after this (yes, it did take us a while to thank Mark and Alexis, drink some more, potty, etc) and through MK and to our car and to Epcot by the 5:15pm meet with my June Dis friends. Mick and I talk. We're here. We still have so much to see. Mick really wants to do the Jungle Cruise. I'd love to get to ToonTown, if possible. We decide to stay. I do believe my Dis friends would understand. Right?

So we gather ourselves and head off with our sights set on the Jungle Cruise. We find it and go through the fast pass lane, leaving our stroller behind.
We get on the next boat and our the first ones on so we are seated next to the driver. Michael gets asked to drive the boat, after a Happy Birthday, of course.
I do need to note that Michael loves anything that spins. Giving him a steering wheel that spins freely gives him license to spin, spin, spin...
099_99.jpg

Good thing the wheel does nothing to move the boat. LOL
101_101.jpg

He gets his license.
102_102.jpg

Now what? Well, I know that we are not too far from Pirates of the Carribbean and I know that PP and Wendy hang out there. I'd love to see the two interact so I direct my party in that direction. First we see Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee. Michael is having none of that though.
104_104.jpg

The characters are great though, pretending to be afraid of "Peter Pan"
105_105.jpg

We give up within a minute. We soon realize that Michael does not like costumed characters at all.

We continue and of course, PP and Wendy are doing their MnG and there is a long line. That's alright. We've already had our turn and Michael is content just to watch. There are benches just to the right of the line and I pull the stroller up beside for Michael and Danae to watch. This is the same PP that we have met just hours before.

As I'm getting the kids ready to go, I'm not even sure where Mick is at this point, Peter Pan sees Michael and says "Michael, stay right there. I'm almost done and then I'll have some special time just for you!". As we wait, and in between every child he says, he talks to Michael and Wendy gets involved to. At one point he tells Michael, "I always save the best for last". It is so cute. Here they are waving in between the kids. While they were with the children taking pictures, they were totally focused on that child. It was awesome to see how they balanced it all, making every child feel special. They also stayed completely in character the entire time. How exhausting!
106_106.jpg

Do you think he's had a long day?
107_107.jpg

As soon as the last kid goes by, PP turns to Michael and says "Come here!". Michael takes off!
108_108.jpg

And Wendy takes a special interest in Danae
109_109.jpg

Michael plays shy for a moment...
110_110.jpg

And a group picture
116_116.jpg

And this one is a close second as a picture to frame. I miss the dialogue here about flying as I have tears streaming down my face and I'm trying to take pictures.
118_118.jpg

Wendy joins in the fun...
119_119.jpg

I have a different view of what happens next. I do believe that Peter notices that Michael's feather is broken (not that it fell out) and Peter tries to pull the feather off his hat. Apparently they are sewed on because he can't get it out (and if he really wasn't trying to pull it out, he fooled me because he looked to be pulling hard). Well, anyways, he can't get the feather of his own hat so he jumps on the bars of the POTC shop right there and yells for someone to bring him a feather. I wish I had a video as it was hysterical. Peter Pan clinging to the rails there screaming for a feather! LOL

He finally does get one and puts it in Michael's hat.
128_128.jpg

And off we go.
129_129.jpg

Mick and I order children into the magical carriage and we are both wiping tears from our eyes. This is the most special and perfect thing that could have happened outside of a free flying lesson from Tinkerbell herself. I hope to be able to send a letter to WDW with this Peter Pan's picture telling them what a very special PP they have there. He did not have to interact with Michael here. He had already met Michael and spent time. Probably on some sort of break time. And this meet must have also been part of his break because we waited for about 15 minutes and we also interacted for 15 minutes. I don't know if their time is adjusted for these magical moments that they created. Regardless, he didn't have to and he did and it was a memory that none of us will ever forget. And poor Wendy just got dragged into the whole thing. LOL

So now what? Oh, yeah. Michael wants to see Neverland. Neverland, neverland, neverland. Oh, I know!!

Points to anyone who can tell me where we found Neverland! We didn't see any mermaids or pirates but boy is this place lush with trees and grass!

Alright, we've had a Magical Michael day. Time for some Danae again. Off to ToonTown. We decide to take the train there. Since we have a handy dandy "sroller as a wheelchair" and by this point Michael doesn't want to move again, we take the stroller through the wheelchair ramp. They see the tag and after a bit of maneuvering, we get onto the train for Toontown. Kids don't have to move and that's a plus as the possiblity of Michael taking a flying leap off the train is a strong possibility with his wiggliness.

We arrive and before we can get off the train, Michael sees the roller coasters. Apparently I had shown the kids too many pictures of roller coasters and Michael starts screaming "roller coaster, wheeeee!". We decide the princesses can wait and we head for the exit ramp of the Barnstormer, without stroller. Mick carries Michael as he is pooped. We should be heading home but we've made it this far! They see Michael, say Happy Birthday, and we get on the ride. I ride with Danae and Mick with Michael. Oh, my stomach just doesn't take these things so well anymore. We ride twice though as they let us sit for a second ride. Then Danae and I get off and watch Mick and Michael take a few more turns. As Mick pulls him off, Michael is beaming. I'm too tired to get the camera out. The weather isn't bad but being out this long is starting to take its toll on me. I'm looking forward to getting inside for awhile.

We decide that since Minnie's House is right there, we'll go inside.

But its not an explore exhibit at the moment but a walk through as it is sooooo crowded. We decide not to do this after all and head for the Princesses. I'm hoping we can get another picture of Cinderella as the one at CRT I just don't like.

So, we have heard that the GKTW button does not give us front of the line access for character meets. We haven't seen that be the case yet but I'm not holding my breath as this one is a bit more "organized". We walk in. Minnie Mouse, 45 minutes, someone else I can't remember, 60 minutes, princesses, 90 minutes! Oh geez! How does anyone do that?! We are standing in the front discussing said wait when Michael wanders off to the CM to say "hi". The CM gets down and wishes Michael a Happy Birthday then stands and tells us to hold on a minute, that he is to be releaved soon and he would take us back. We thank him and wait. His relief is apparently running a bit late as just a couple minutes later he tells us just to follow the exit allllllll the way back and to wait by the red rope. This is sooo exciting! We decide that we are really only interested in the princesses. We don't want to be pushy for something we're really not that interested in. We get to the front and wait a few minutes. Another CM sees us and asks us who we are here to see. We tell her princesses and she tells us they are full up but Minnie is available right now and when we are done to come right back to the red rope.

We try really hard not to spend too much time with the characters but the characters have different plans. They are really taking their time with each child.

Here's Minnie...

And Donald is in the same room as she is...

When we are through here, we head back to the rope. After a 15-20 minute or so wait, the CM lets us into the princess room. Its not "front of the line" but it sure seems like it to us!

Here's Aurora...

Cinderella...

She spent quite a bit of time talking to Danae about her outfit and her hair...

And Belle

At that point we decided we'd taken enough time of the characters and we were not jumping up and down to see the other characters (I think it was Chip and Dale and Goofy but I wouldn't put any money on that) so we wondered through the store and Danae pointed out a picture frame she saw that she liked. After Michael getting lost a time or two, we finally found our way out.

Now what? Indy Speedway! Michael wants to drive! We wander around the area. The wheelchair line/exit is impossible to find with the line the way it is. We are standing to the left of the line, trying to look over the heads of the people to figure out where we should go. We wander around aimlessly and ask the CM of the closest gift kiosk who has no clue. Then we here "Michael!" and here comes Aimee. She leads us to the wheelchair accessible lane which is on the right side, obscured by the gobs of people waiting in line. We soon realize she's working the middle pit and appears to have somehow spotted us looking befuddled and had come to get us. We get in after a few minute wait (there is a couple people in front of us) and Michael and I take one car and Danae and Mick another. Its a bumpy ride but Michael enjoys it. As we are nearing the end, we are motioned to stay put and we get another go around. Wheeeee! As we get off, I get a picture of Michael with Aimee. How can I not? She has made this day just a touch more special for us and I didn't think that was possible. Then she asks if we've got our driver's license and when we say "no" she motions for someone to get Michael his license. He is ecstatic!

We decided to do dinner as our tummies were grumbly. We decided to go somewhere right by the Indy Speedway (was it Cosmic Rays? I don't remember). I want a salad as I am dying of heat and am not very hungry. Mick chooses hamburgers for him and the children. There were three different sets of counters and the hamburgers and salads were not together. He chooses to take the children. They have been staying in their magical carriage all afternoon so this should be fine. As I am standing in line waiting for my order when I get a call. "I lost the children" says my dh. Then he mentions something about going to the bathroom. Silly me assumes that "lost" meant past tense. As in lost but now found. I don't here my dd screaming anywhere so she really can't be lost still. Besides, there's no panic in the voice. Nothing. Nada. "Ok, where are you?". I hear "over by the bathrooms". I grab my order which has arrived by this point and take the long way to the bathrooms on accident. This would have put me past where he was allegedly standing, screaming for the children. Can't find him or the kids. As I am getting ready to call him, he calls again. "Where are you?" he says. "Over by the fixins bar. I can't find you. Where are you?". At which point, he comes around the corner with two children in the stroller and his hands full. He says "I lost the kids". I say "I see you found them". He looks down and there are our two children sitting patiently in the magical carriage. The carriage really must be magical, I guess. See, I should note that although Michael has a tendency of wandering (and does not come back on his own), my dd does not. But on the rare occasion she has lost sight of me, she has screamed as if she was being murdered, causing all sorts of people to come running to her aid. What truly happened, I shall never know.

Alright, so now we have decided to take our food to eat at the parade sight. I am told I can take a tray and we balance it on top of the stroller's canopy with all our food in "to go" containers (which you must ask for) and off we go to our magical spot. We get there early and get a great spot. Exactly where we were for the 3pm parade. As we are standing there, Joey (remember him from the 3pm?) stops by and hands Michael one of those Tinkerbell pins with "One for you" and "One to give" which is explained to him. He promptly hands over the bottom one to his sister. So sweet. Someone want to explain the significance of these? I didn't research pins because I didn't want to deal with pin trading this time around.

Anyways, so now we are waiting.

I luck out and find a ice cream kiosk with about five people ahead of me (behind the wheelchair section and to the right across the street) and we have Mickey head pops which the kids don't finish.

The we have Danae saying she has to go potty just minutes before the parade. I run with her towards the front of the park and head right towards first aid. There is a bathroom around the corner from the bank of shops (near Casey's) before you get to the Wish Lounge. This is probably the closest potty to the wheelchair area. By the time we get back, the announcement starts that the parade is about to begin. Thankfully we had made nice-nice with the family next to us, who were also on their Wish trip, who flagged me down as I was looking for the bald, fat man in the funny shirt. They tell me that Michael had to potty as soon as I was out of sight and Mick had disappeared with him. As the parade is coming across the street, the parade nearly crashes into him. But he made it!

And the parade coems. This one is coming from the opposite direction from the 3pm but these are still great seats.

Peter Pan is all in white with lights and does come near us. I seem to have missed the conversation though. LOL
It is an awesome parade and I'm glad we stayed to see it.

So now comes the fireworks. I do want to stay. Mick wants to go. I let it go and we head towards the front along with about 1/3rd of the park. We decide to take the ferry this time as Michael really wants to do this. We get on and its not too full. We stop at the pilot house and ask if Michael can say "hi" to the pilot. The pilot starts to say he can't and another says to the other pilot "no, he can come in". And they let Michael in to see all the controls and says thank you to the pilot. Michael and I plant ourselves near the back of the ferry facing the Magic Kingdom when I all of a sudden remember that it is about the time of the fireworks and we may just catch them on the ferry. Sure enough, we do. All the pretty lights (and even Tinkerbell if you know what you are looking for...green light streaking across the sky near the castly) without all the noise. It really was good for Michael. He likes fireworks but we would have had to whip out the earplugs but we don't have to now. Only bad thing is we don't get the music. Oh, well. Still nice and we now have a jump on the other 2/3rds of the park!

The ferry lands during the docks during the last fireworks and we head towards the tram and on to our car. We are out of there in less than 15 minutes!

Now, we assume the kids will sleep in the car. Haha!! They are up the entire time. We get back to the villa and there is the schedule for tomorrow listed as well as a small gift for the kids. They are loving all this. They do collapse into bed shortly after a quick shower. Yeah, sleep. Mick takes another bath while I pack for Tuesday then I take a bath. We quickly discuss our plans for tomorrow. AK and Disney-MGM and it looks like they are having a Princess and Pirate party here at the resort. We think we can make that but we won't stress too much. There are only a couple things we really want to see and we do have a lunch at the Studios tomorrow. We'll take it a minute at a time. Besides things can't get any better than this. We've had a Practically Perfect Day in Every Way Day! What a Magical Day! I collapse into bed and fall blissfully asleep. We are due up in less than 6 hours!
