Points to anyone who can tell me where we found Neverland! We didn't see any mermaids or pirates but boy is this place lush with trees and grass!
Alright, we've had a Magical Michael day. Time for some Danae again. Off to ToonTown. We decide to take the train there. Since we have a handy dandy "sroller as a wheelchair" and by this point Michael doesn't want to move again, we take the stroller through the wheelchair ramp. They see the tag and after a bit of maneuvering, we get onto the train for Toontown. Kids don't have to move and that's a plus as the possiblity of Michael taking a flying leap off the train is a strong possibility with his wiggliness.
We arrive and before we can get off the train, Michael sees the roller coasters. Apparently I had shown the kids too many pictures of roller coasters and Michael starts screaming "roller coaster, wheeeee!". We decide the princesses can wait and we head for the exit ramp of the Barnstormer, without stroller. Mick carries Michael as he is pooped. We should be heading home but we've made it this far! They see Michael, say Happy Birthday, and we get on the ride. I ride with Danae and Mick with Michael. Oh, my stomach just doesn't take these things so well anymore. We ride twice though as they let us sit for a second ride. Then Danae and I get off and watch Mick and Michael take a few more turns. As Mick pulls him off, Michael is beaming. I'm too tired to get the camera out. The weather isn't bad but being out this long is starting to take its toll on me. I'm looking forward to getting inside for awhile.
We decide that since Minnie's House is right there, we'll go inside.
But its not an explore exhibit at the moment but a walk through as it is sooooo crowded. We decide not to do this after all and head for the Princesses. I'm hoping we can get another picture of Cinderella as the one at CRT I just don't like.
So, we have heard that the GKTW button does not give us front of the line access for character meets. We haven't seen that be the case yet but I'm not holding my breath as this one is a bit more "organized". We walk in. Minnie Mouse, 45 minutes, someone else I can't remember, 60 minutes, princesses, 90 minutes! Oh geez! How does anyone do that?! We are standing in the front discussing said wait when Michael wanders off to the CM to say "hi". The CM gets down and wishes Michael a Happy Birthday then stands and tells us to hold on a minute, that he is to be releaved soon and he would take us back. We thank him and wait. His relief is apparently running a bit late as just a couple minutes later he tells us just to follow the exit allllllll the way back and to wait by the red rope. This is sooo exciting! We decide that we are really only interested in the princesses. We don't want to be pushy for something we're really not that interested in. We get to the front and wait a few minutes. Another CM sees us and asks us who we are here to see. We tell her princesses and she tells us they are full up but Minnie is available right now and when we are done to come right back to the red rope.
We try really hard not to spend too much time with the characters but the characters have different plans. They are really taking their time with each child.
Here's Minnie...
And Donald is in the same room as she is...
When we are through here, we head back to the rope. After a 15-20 minute or so wait, the CM lets us into the princess room. Its not "front of the line" but it sure seems like it to us!
Here's Aurora...
Cinderella...
She spent quite a bit of time talking to Danae about her outfit and her hair...
And Belle
At that point we decided we'd taken enough time of the characters and we were not jumping up and down to see the other characters (I think it was Chip and Dale and Goofy but I wouldn't put any money on that) so we wondered through the store and Danae pointed out a picture frame she saw that she liked. After Michael getting lost a time or two, we finally found our way out.
Now what? Indy Speedway! Michael wants to drive! We wander around the area. The wheelchair line/exit is impossible to find with the line the way it is. We are standing to the left of the line, trying to look over the heads of the people to figure out where we should go. We wander around aimlessly and ask the CM of the closest gift kiosk who has no clue. Then we here "Michael!" and here comes Aimee. She leads us to the wheelchair accessible lane which is on the right side, obscured by the gobs of people waiting in line. We soon realize she's working the middle pit and appears to have somehow spotted us looking befuddled and had come to get us. We get in after a few minute wait (there is a couple people in front of us) and Michael and I take one car and Danae and Mick another. Its a bumpy ride but Michael enjoys it. As we are nearing the end, we are motioned to stay put and we get another go around. Wheeeee! As we get off, I get a picture of Michael with Aimee. How can I not? She has made this day just a touch more special for us and I didn't think that was possible. Then she asks if we've got our driver's license and when we say "no" she motions for someone to get Michael his license. He is ecstatic!
We decided to do dinner as our tummies were grumbly. We decided to go somewhere right by the Indy Speedway (was it Cosmic Rays? I don't remember). I want a salad as I am dying of heat and am not very hungry. Mick chooses hamburgers for him and the children. There were three different sets of counters and the hamburgers and salads were not together. He chooses to take the children. They have been staying in their magical carriage all afternoon so this should be fine. As I am standing in line waiting for my order when I get a call. "I lost the children" says my dh. Then he mentions something about going to the bathroom. Silly me assumes that "lost" meant past tense. As in lost but now found. I don't here my dd screaming anywhere so she really can't be lost still. Besides, there's no panic in the voice. Nothing. Nada. "Ok, where are you?". I hear "over by the bathrooms". I grab my order which has arrived by this point and take the long way to the bathrooms on accident. This would have put me past where he was allegedly standing, screaming for the children. Can't find him or the kids. As I am getting ready to call him, he calls again. "Where are you?" he says. "Over by the fixins bar. I can't find you. Where are you?". At which point, he comes around the corner with two children in the stroller and his hands full. He says "I lost the kids". I say "I see you found them". He looks down and there are our two children sitting patiently in the magical carriage. The carriage really must be magical, I guess. See, I should note that although Michael has a tendency of wandering (and does not come back on his own), my dd does not. But on the rare occasion she has lost sight of me, she has screamed as if she was being murdered, causing all sorts of people to come running to her aid. What truly happened, I shall never know.
Alright, so now we have decided to take our food to eat at the parade sight. I am told I can take a tray and we balance it on top of the stroller's canopy with all our food in "to go" containers (which you must ask for) and off we go to our magical spot. We get there early and get a great spot. Exactly where we were for the 3pm parade. As we are standing there, Joey (remember him from the 3pm?) stops by and hands Michael one of those Tinkerbell pins with "One for you" and "One to give" which is explained to him. He promptly hands over the bottom one to his sister. So sweet. Someone want to explain the significance of these? I didn't research pins because I didn't want to deal with pin trading this time around.
Anyways, so now we are waiting.
I luck out and find a ice cream kiosk with about five people ahead of me (behind the wheelchair section and to the right across the street) and we have Mickey head pops which the kids don't finish.
The we have Danae saying she has to go potty just minutes before the parade. I run with her towards the front of the park and head right towards first aid. There is a bathroom around the corner from the bank of shops (near Casey's) before you get to the Wish Lounge. This is probably the closest potty to the wheelchair area. By the time we get back, the announcement starts that the parade is about to begin. Thankfully we had made nice-nice with the family next to us, who were also on their Wish trip, who flagged me down as I was looking for the bald, fat man in the funny shirt. They tell me that Michael had to potty as soon as I was out of sight and Mick had disappeared with him. As the parade is coming across the street, the parade nearly crashes into him. But he made it!
And the parade coems. This one is coming from the opposite direction from the 3pm but these are still great seats.
Peter Pan is all in white with lights and does come near us. I seem to have missed the conversation though. LOL
It is an awesome parade and I'm glad we stayed to see it.
So now comes the fireworks. I do want to stay. Mick wants to go. I let it go and we head towards the front along with about 1/3rd of the park. We decide to take the ferry this time as Michael really wants to do this. We get on and its not too full. We stop at the pilot house and ask if Michael can say "hi" to the pilot. The pilot starts to say he can't and another says to the other pilot "no, he can come in". And they let Michael in to see all the controls and says thank you to the pilot. Michael and I plant ourselves near the back of the ferry facing the Magic Kingdom when I all of a sudden remember that it is about the time of the fireworks and we may just catch them on the ferry. Sure enough, we do. All the pretty lights (and even Tinkerbell if you know what you are looking for...green light streaking across the sky near the castly) without all the noise. It really was good for Michael. He likes fireworks but we would have had to whip out the earplugs but we don't have to now. Only bad thing is we don't get the music. Oh, well. Still nice and we now have a jump on the other 2/3rds of the park!
The ferry lands during the docks during the last fireworks and we head towards the tram and on to our car. We are out of there in less than 15 minutes!
Now, we assume the kids will sleep in the car. Haha!! They are up the entire time. We get back to the villa and there is the schedule for tomorrow listed as well as a small gift for the kids. They are loving all this. They do collapse into bed shortly after a quick shower. Yeah, sleep. Mick takes another bath while I pack for Tuesday then I take a bath. We quickly discuss our plans for tomorrow. AK and Disney-MGM and it looks like they are having a Princess and Pirate party here at the resort. We think we can make that but we won't stress too much. There are only a couple things we really want to see and we do have a lunch at the Studios tomorrow. We'll take it a minute at a time. Besides things can't get any better than this. We've had a Practically Perfect Day in Every Way Day! What a Magical Day! I collapse into bed and fall blissfully asleep. We are due up in less than 6 hours!
