The third picture of her which is the side view her eyes look like she had been crying and she has the pouty thing going on.
I thought it looked like she was concentrating on the spin she was doing. But, you could be right. I feel bad for the little girl if that's what's going on. I feel bad for her anyway, with her Mom putting those pictures on the interent.

Either way it's bad bad bad and she 's licking boogers in one of the bottom ones. I'm thinking she was eating spaghetti or something like that. All of her auctions are pretty bad picture quality. Even if it is just a cold the face could've been washed. My DS1 has a double ear & sinus infection right now. Boogers are plentiful but I wouldn't try to make him model for me until he was better.

I absolutely agree! I was just so shocked when I saw this auction, I couldn't believe it! It doesn't take much to wash of a child's face. Lydia often has a runny nose, but I try to keep her cleaned up, even if we aren't taking pictures or going anywhere.

Yuck is right. Why would anyone go ahead and put those pics on there?:sad2:
Thanks to those who PM'd me:)

You sound like me! I tell people I'm cheap, but I don't think they really understand the extent of it!

Shoot, I have no qualms about buying second hand at thrift stores or yardsales. Tho when my older DD hit 5th grade I had to lie and tell her SO AND SO gave them to me for her (she was ok with that:confused3 ):lmao: Yes lightning will strike me dead some day for untruths. :rotfl2:

Goodwill had a great sale when I was there last Fri. 25 CENTS! for tons of clothes. I stocked up on bigger sizes. I got a few things to revamp for the trip too. Wait till you all see my Ohana outfit i got there. It may take a while..I have to do some painting on it. Awesome material, beautiful dress, just made me look fat-(ER) :lmao: It is morphing into a 2 piece. Easier to hide the belly.:rotfl:

I can't wait to see it! We had matching Mickey outfits for our trip this year. The dress made me look, well, pregnant, so I tried to hide the belly with a t-shirt over it. I was thinking of making it a shirt and skirt, which would hopefully, skim over the belly. However, I'm too afraid to cut it! I don't want to ruin it!

ok here is a quote from the seller

"I agree with you about my pics (that is my daughter) and she hates doing the pictures (honestly) it is becoming a big chore...... it is a take what I can get picture most of the time!!!! "
I did the unthinkable, I politely let her know of free modeling services etc. I let her know that her items are great but her pictures detatch from the outfits and to make top dollar she should use a free modeling service and I reffered her to a couple. she was not offeneded and took my advice!

Was it one of those longer dresses that tie in the back, sleeveless??? That is what this one is and I SO DO NOT have the flawless figure for it. :lmao: I am turning the bottom into a sort of skorty thing/bathing suit wrap looking thing. It has slits up the sides which I like and black in the print so I can wear my black t-shirt material shorts under it. EHH, it is only for dinner so I can get away with it for awhile..LOL Plus I only paid 5$ for it and my BF said I looked like a whale:mad: Like he has room to talk..HMMMPFF! So now I am all self concious about it..:lmao:

Good for you!!! I'm glad she might listen to you. I guess I would have at least blurred out my daughter's picture though, or just hung them up to take a picture. I don't see how someone could think the snotty nose added to the picture? :confused3 But, I digress..

Mine is long, but it doesn't tie in the back. It has a sort of crisscrossy thing going in the front. My pictures are all on my other computer or, I'd post one. It sounds like what you are doing is going to be pretty cute!

My dh didn't say anything too bad about the dress, but he did think it looked better with a top over it.

I already know I'm going to get blasted, so here goes. You know, I really used to enjoy this thread but I don't any longer. It seems people are very rude and judgemental. It was so nice comparing photos and tips, and it seems that one person came along and now I don't care to read the posts anymore. There have been photos on this thread of awful outfits, children with disabilities, and many other things. We have all been kind to each other, and treated each other with respect, until recently. What is going on, you guys? Who really cares if this poor child has something on her face? Gosh, am I the only one, who is more turned off by the adult conversation on this board, than going looking for some poor little girl with something on her face.

HELP! ive successfully muddled thru 2 twirl skirts and am working on a 3rd for a friends dd. PLEASE give me suggestions on an easy way to gather. i do the typical "2 long running stitches side by side, then pull the strings and keep working the fabric around". but i must say its a pain in the butt! especially if youre making a skirt for a older girl. anyone have ANY suggestions that could make this process easier? the first 2 skirts turned out cute- not so pretty on the inside because im still new at this- but someone once said on here that their motto was "done, not perfect". i agree! however, i do get frustrated after ive gathered for what seems like forever and then i pin and sew to next layer, only to discover it was "more gathered" in certain spots! whats the trick to getting the same fullness all the way around and then making it fit the next layer?

sorry so long.....im just frustrated and tired! and on a deadline with a lot of other stuff to do!
thanks for the help!

I mark half way and quarterway marks on my fabrics that I am joining, that way, they match and the gathers are even. Patterns tell you to make a point on the edges of the fabric; I use a fabric pen. Like a wash-away pen, or a disappearing pen. Good luck!

Ok, you're right! Let's get back onto some really cool outfits that everyone is making here!!!

Thats great and hopefully you will recoup enough to buy another one. :thumbsup2
It looked like it was sewn just as well as the other one. So it should be a good outfit for whoever buys it.

But now that your dh knows your secret boutique buying habits you may need to make a large purchase of ice cream before attempting to buy anymore items. :rolleyes1 ;)

I went to the store today and bought more ice cream.:rotfl:

Originally posted by glorib - Well, I'm officially obsessed! Here's the next in the lineup - this awesome purple princess sparkly toile fabric. It's a little big on her now, but should be okay by Dec.

I've been lurking on this thread from the beginning & admiring all the wonderful outfits! Everyone's children are darling, & I'm amazed by all the talent! Gorgeous clothes! Gorgeous children!

However, since I have no real sewing abilities, I've haven't had anything really to add, yet... ;)

But, I had to jump in & post because I simply love this princess fabric!

My DD will be 8 when we go to Disney next summer, & I'd love to find this fabric & have my mother make her something for our lunch at CRT. (Previously, she's worn princess costumes to CRT, but, since she'll be 8 next year, I'm thinking she might be a little too old for a costume.)

Her favorite color is purple, and I adore toile fabric! I'd love to make her a cute little sundress w/ some ribbon trim. Ooh! And then I could fashion some sort of matching headpiece w/ one of those tiara combs - so she could have a matching tiara! (I see how this can get quite addictive!)

Anyway, where, oh where, can I find the purple princess toile? Is it still being sold anywhere? I did a generic internet search for purple princess toile fabric, and I'm not finding it - but maybe I haven't searched enough.

Thanks for the help!

I bought mine last week at Hobby Lobby, but there sure wasn't much and I bought all of it. - I have, however, seen some on ebay - a search for princess toile should bring it up! Good luck!

It's not the greatest picture, but here's a picture of the dress that my mom made for the girls out of that purple princess toile. She put a purple collar and purple band at the bottom.

That is a PERFECT use of the princess toile fabric, IMO. I love the fabric, but I haven't bought any because I didn't know what I would make from it. A halter/skirt combo didn't strike me as being quite right. These dresses are great! The little models are adorable, too.

Thanks! My girls loved that dress! Most of the time, I just find a material, send it to my mom, and she does her magic.

Here's another dress that she made out of that princess border fabric.

LadyRob,

Which pattern did you use for your minnie tulle skirt? Do you remember what page it was on? I am going nuts trying to find it again lol.

I bought everything to do a pirate version.

Ok, one more for now, then I need to get back to laundry. :lmao: Here's the costumes that she made for me and my daughter - Fairy Godmother & Cinderella - for MNSSHP.

Those are very cute. Simple enough to wear anywhere but still adorable!
