What exactly are you trying to say here? :confused3 :rotfl:

It's all relative, Mark. It's all relative.
18 to us is what whatever cold you've having right now is to you. If your body was acclimated to 110 degree weather for the largest part of the year, you'd be thinking 18 was pretty darn cold too. (there's a reason us Texans don't move to the "frozen states", as I affectionally *cough* refer to them)

Amen . . .but what do you do when your body (i.e. mine) is adapted to say 90 degrees (I love our hot summers!) and DH is adapted to 65 degrees (being from Seattle)? I keep trying to get him to move south . . . seems like I handle to cold less and less as I get older. Funny thing was that I went to college at Virginia Tech from Pittsburgh in an effort to get warmer. VT is NOT warmer in the winter . . in fact . . they had some of their worst winter weather in the history of school while I was there (-30 degree wind chills and 18 inches of snow overnight!) I'm still looking for that move to sunny FL (oh and humidity doesn't bother me . . .keeps my contacts moist .. .LOL):rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Conjunction junction, what's your function? Hooking up words and phrases and clauses in complex sentences like....

Lolly, lolly, lolly, get your adverbs here, Father, Son and Lolly selling adverbs here...

and for Rex Grossman: "He made a connection in the other direction and the crowd started shouting out interjections. Aw, you threw the wrong way. Darn, you just lost the game. Yeah, I'm for the other team"

I can sing them all. Without the help of Google.

When my son was in the 6th grade, his school put on the play School House Rock Jr. I think the parents were more excited about the play than the kids were.:dance3:

My son was The Bill and the Connection Conductor.

I'm off to work now.

Today my students and I are making chili for lunch.:stir: My assistant isn't happy about this.:sad2: He just had the bookkeeper call me at home to see if I had changed my mind about cooking.

Yes, no school for Angelina, and no work for me, today or Monday, we have off for President's Weekend(today for Lincoln's birthday and Monday for Washington's birthday, it's great working for the government!!!). With taking vacation days the past two days, I wound up with a nice 6 day break from work!!! :goodvibes

Andy,

You could have gotten a nice WDW or 3 night DCL trip in with this time off.

oooh...like, for real??? it is ??? i LOVED that show. i remember way back when kirk cameron came to my hometown with his wife and her father...i think he was having heart surgery or something. that was the talk of the town forever! and i have a pic to prove it!! LOL!

Those of us who HAVE to live in warm weather challenged locations, and are freezin our tails off...............shoveling snow..............scrapping ice..........not having any feeling in our fingers or toes.............become a little quirky to those who live in geographically desireable regions who have to suffer with one or two 'Cold Days'.......... Which by our standards...........are a flippin heat wave............. LOL

Told my parents that to keep the conversations polite when they call..........their weather is always nice.............but with an occasional chilly day here and there.

Mark

Thanks on the time thing.
Dang I have to wait a bit longer...

What do you do?
well you do what I do.. sit around with your socks and shoes on and jacket on- to keep warm in your own house! Unfortunately the kids are hot blooded too, so they are sweating if it's kept warm enough for me. ugh I have bad circulation too or something- my hands and feet get cold easily. (and a fatty area that we won't talk about right now)
Oh and you have him wear shorts even when every other sane person might think it's a bit chilly.

Yes, I married me a yankee... and even though he's been here ALL THESE YEARS, he still hasn't gotten his body acclimated to our weather. His body seriously needs to get with the program. We're talking close to 20yrs he's been here! (real close- like a couple of months close)

He's also certifiably insane because he tends to get a grin on his face when the roads get icey or snowed over... like it's a challenge for everyone else but easy as pie for him. I admit that comes in handy sometimes (making him drive ofcourse) but come on... no one should think it's "cool" to have ice on the roads. Certifiable.

Yeah Lisa........he did some little movie about a boat and an iceberg......:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I actually really like him in that movie where he had all the different identities......????

What else? Name the Dicaprio flick....

Never seen that movie about the iceberg and the boat - never will as long as he is in it and it's directed by James Cameron.

Ah but dear, we're having much more than a day or two of cold days. We're having VERY cold days and it's been going on for weeks, with snow and ice and everything! :scared1:

BtW- 18 degrees is a heat wave by your standards? Where do you live? Antartica? :scared1:

Talk to me when you're having nice weather and our heat index is over 120. Mkay? LOL

(ps. I'm feeling for ya... I know what freezing fingers and toes is like, I just get that way even when it's not quite as cold as where you are)

Oh well Lorri......
We can solve that problem somehow.......WHITEOUT

who would you like inserted instead?:lmao:

We get 13 paid Holidays a year, and I LOVE each one of them!!! :yay:

Gotta love that Andy. We only get 10 here (8 hard and 2 floating).

But what we lack in holidays, I make up for in vacation. 4 weeks, plus 1 day a month (12 per year), plus 2 personal days. We get 6 sick days on top of that.

If you count the 2 floating holidays, I it works out to 36 days per year.

Must be nice you guys.......

too bad someone has to take care of all you sick people 24 hours a day 7 days a week.......

Me too! I have them all on CD . . .and DVD!

I'm sure you always get the 'how do you know that?' like I do. For some reason things seep into my brain and stay there. I just haven't figured out how to make money off it -- I never could get onto 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' because my reflexes aren't fast enough to spit things out quickly.

Oh, I'm so excited. DIS Trivial Pursuit Challenge! My friends won't play with me. I am referred to as the "Queen of Useless Knowledge."

I had the audience top spot at the end of WWTBAM - THREE TIMES! AARRRHHHGGGG!

Of course I have to think very very hard to come up with the answer to 7x8.

Really, Lorri? Oh, just try to forget the fact the he's in it (and who it's directed by)....Titanic is one of my all time favorite movies....I cry everytime....and I always hold out hope that they'll miss the iceberg.:rotfl:
