My favorite memory was Christmas week of 1999. My two cousins and I were -just- old enough to split up from ours moms for a few hours in the parks. I think I was 14 and they were 12. We were in AK and it was my cousins fist time there. We hadn't yet ridden the safari and that was our sole goal of the morning. We got to the line and it was 140 min long-we were fully prepared to wait but that meant a phone call to my mom about meeting them 20 min late. She was having none of that and said if we didn't meet her at the proper time we wouldn't be allowed to split up again. We said ok, we won't ride it, maybe next time and hung up the phone. A VERY WONDERFUL CM overheard this entire conversation, came up to use took my cousin by the hand and led us though the cm entrance up the walk, bypassing the ENTIRE line and put us the first row of the first truck to pull up. We couldn't thank her enough!! and to TOP it off-she gave us a set of 7-yes 7, FP so we could bring our moms and my lil sis back, (after our proper meeting time that is!) so we could all ride together! 11 years later and I STILL talk about that every time I step foot into AK. The most MAGICAL thing ever!
Also had a similar experience the Christmas after mission space opened. Add a few years and my two cousins and I are now old enough to do entire parks by ourselves and head over to epcot to rise mission space. We it was awful over there! people everywhere and a line that was 2 hours long. Fully prepared to wait but couldn't even attempt to find the end of the line, we sought out an elderly CM who was speaking with another guest. This mother had 2 kids in tow and she was SCREAMING at this poor CM. He looked like he was near tears, and according to the mother of course it was all HIS fault for the wait and he should be able to do something about it. I felt like saying listen lady, your the one who came at christmas time! you have to expect long waits! but kept my mouth shut, and when she was finally done i felt the need to apologize to this poor old gentleman for that awful woman's behavior. And said that really we just needed to know where the end of the line was and even if he could point out the general direction we would be on our way. but he wasn't having that, he pulled out 3 FP that were good for right then and escorted us to the FP entrance. its really amazing what treating someone with respect can do!!
