I think it depends on your kid. My DS would have been awful to take at 14 months (for the running, not wanting to stay in the stroller, awful at meal times,etc). DD would have been awesome at 14 months (we took her at 18 months and she was great). At 14 months, my DD was JUST walking, so she was content to be in the stroller (really she still is at 3.5!) At 6 months, she wasn't sleeping through the night and waking at least 2 times for feedings. That would make days even harder.
I think you plan a time that works for you and know that it won't be perfect!
