After letting out the rudeness, let's let in the goodness! Share your best pixie dust experience.

I've had a lot of them but the most amazing one was in Epcot. I had my birthday button and me and DH were on our way into the Coke shop. RIGHT after passing Edy's I hear someone calling me by name. It was a lovelly CM with a hot fudge sundae FOR FREE because it was my birthday. It made my day!! I hugged and thanked her. It was so magical, beyond me how they made it so fast and read my name so fast, i just was walking by. :wizard:
I'll never forget that :)

Ooh and here's another one, i had my birthday button on at MNSSHP. I was walking past Pirates of the Caribbean and the CM said how old are you turning? He said well i dont have that many but here you go, and handed me +10 bags of full size Kissables.

We were asked to answer the phone by the CM who said he was "waiting for us" (we had our just married buttons on) at the American pavilion and got to hear Mickey and Minnie congratulate us. Also got to go to the upper level to hear the singers.

Last year, we were at Epcot and met Mulan in China. The park was pretty slow that day, and there was nobody else even there to meet her. It was DD's 3rd birthday, and she was dressed like her FAVE Snow White. Mulan and her CM handler were asking DD if SW was her fave, had she met her yet, etc. They even had a SW sticker they gave DD. I thought the sticker was great enough...

the CM got on a walkie to see if SW was over in Germany for meet and greets. He told me she was, so we were excited. Unfortunately DH didn't want to rush over there, so we kind of took our time looking at stuff between China and Germany.

We get to Germany, and see SW and her CM. (Also nobody around there to meet her!) Snow opens her arms wide for a hug as DD runs to her, and she says "Oh Princess Kaitlyn, I've been waiting just to meet you!" I about cried right then and there. Mulan's CM had called them when we walked away, told them it was DD's birthday and her name, and they made it so special for her. Kaitlyn couldn't believe Snow "knew" her name and was "waiting" just for her!

That was definitely my most "magical" Disney moment :lovestruc

DBF and I went for my birthday in 2008 and were staying at the BC, as soon as we stepped off magical express, a CM greeted us by name, wished me a happy birthday and said we had been upgraded to Club level! He escorted us to the 5th floor where another CM was waiting with our package and a birthday button! This was the best surprise ever, since we had only booked a standard room using a PIN code!

A lot of people have complaints about buses here: long waits, sardine-like accomodations, etc. but I have always thought the bus people were fantasitc at WDW. I have a few pixie dust stories for the bus:

1. My mom and dad were goint to the Boardwalk for dinner one night and asked the bus driver where to get off/get on a new bus to make it there (they were riding from ASMU to Magic Kindgom I think to get on a connecting bus). He smiled and asked if they really wanted to change buses. They laughed and said "no, but we have to to get there!" The bus driver smiled and said he'd give them a ride straight there. My mom and dad were flabergasted and appreciative. He dropped them off at the Boardwalk. They tried giving him a $10 bill to show their appreciation and the bus driver refused it with a smile saying he loved his job and helping out guests was reward enough.:goodvibes

2. On our first trip we accidently got on the wrong bus to go to POFQ, not undertanding that sometimes they had separate buses and sometimes they used the same ones. When we figured it out we were on thelk wrong bus we were talking amongst ourselves and figured we'd just get out at PO and walk to POFQ since we'd made the mistake. We never said anything to the bus driver. When we got up to get out at Riverside he smiled at us and said to sit back down, this was not our stop. He made a special stop for us at FQ even though he didn't have to. so sweet!

3. We were on our way back from Spectromagic when the lady across from us noticed out DD (2 at the time) looking at her Tinkerbell light-up pin on her jacket. She smiled and asked my daughter if she knew who it was. My DD said, "Tinkbell" and smiled. I asked the lady where she had purchased it thinking I'd get my DD one. She said from one of the vendors at the park but then she took hers off of her jacket and gave it to my DD saying she wanted to spread a little of the pixie dust herself! So sweet! That made my daughter's whole night and it made me want to cry seeing that there were still good people in the world (after a day of cranky park-goers!):wizard:

yes--sometimes they are crowded or you have to wait a little but I've always found that the best magic happens on the bus when you least suspect it!

Living so close to WDW that we can go anytime we want is enough pixie dust for me, however, we have had many experiences where we were just so surprised with extra treats. We've been upgraded to concierge at AKV and received an anniversary basket from Disney Florist in our room the same visit. Many free treats in the parks, no reason - no buttons, ice cream cones, strawberry bars, bananas, popcorn, sodas. Back entrance into FOTLK with front seats twice. Several years ago, and well before YOMD, DS was given a full lanyard with pins while in AK. Most recently, we stopped in guest services at DHS to check the pin book, DS commented how much he enjoyed SWW. The CM told us to wait and he'd be right back. Well, he came back with a limited edition collector's die cast of a star wars battle ship. DS was so excited! WDW, to us is just a magical place. If I had my way, we'd move closer. :thumbsup2

Caraverla, do you by any chance have a pic or names of either of those CM's who helped with Mulan/Snow White? I am just wondering, I think I was there.....I was hanging with SW.
Have a Magical Day!!!

Thank you for posting this. I was really upset yesterday about the rudeness poll and I'm glad to see this sharing of pixie dust! It's what Disney is all about :wizard:

My favorite moment was when we were on a bus to MK and my children were opening their glow stuff. Another mom asked where we had gotten them and I let her know we brought them from home. Her child was watching us of course and being very well-behaved and this child even gave up her seat for another passenger without being asked. After we entered MK, my son saw the girl again and asked if he could give her one of his light up cubes because yet again in the park, she was being kind to people and letting them get through a heavy trafficked area. Her eyes lit up and her mother was grateful and my son was beaming. I was so proud of him for recognizing this other child and everyone was just touched by the encounter.

I can't pick one because our trip in almost exactly a year ago turned magical and so many sprinkled pixie dust for us. We were driving down to WDW and had a wreck which landed me in a trauma center ICU for a few days and stitches for DD. We sent DD & her friend on down with our friends who were also going after we found out I was going to survive. The Kidani CM's were great. They checked the girls in just talking to DH on the phone and our friends. Tinkerbell delivered sweets to our room for the girls (Zebra Domes and spoons made out of chocolate). When I finally made it down there, they bent over backwards to help us. I had broken my neck and 10 ribs. The mousekeeper talked to her manager, who told her by all means help as much as she can so she came and cleaned and helped everyone every day instead of just twice during the stay. We tipped her very well because she was so so helpful. She made me towel animals everyday and taught us to make a couple. The CM's at the gift shop sent a plant they had seen me looking at with a get well card. The front desk CM's sent me a WDW soft sided cooler full of snacks. The concierge recommended we request a GAC at the parks. That card was a life saver. Every attraction did everything they could to get us in and out as soon as possible. I was wearing a neck brace and was bruised up pretty bad so they could see I was really not up to long park visits. Every character and their CM's that saw us came up and took pictures unless they were in a particular spot and then they fussed over me so much.

On a side note, on our trip last week, DH had all those pictures and wanted them autographed for me so we went looking for the characters. When we saw Minnie at Epcot, she got so excited when she saw the picture and kept motioning it was her. The CM said she thinks that was the same Minnie and she remembered it.

Well I have a couple - during and after Pixie Dusts

We did not realize that the Contemporary monorail station did not have handicapped access. My Mom could not take the escalator. They asked us to wait and when everyone else was down they turned the escalator off and we all helped Mom walk down the steps. Thought that was sooo nice.

When my dh and I went for our 2nd anniversary, we stayed at the Port Orleans, he got sick, gosh we were only there for a short 4 night 5 day visit. I think it was the turkey sandwich he had at Universal Studios. Anyway, I went to the foodcourt and asked for gingerale, the CM went to the bar to get it for me then when I asked for maybe chicken soup, another CM asked if I could wait and they would get some but it had to be heated up. So I got the gingerale, chicken soup and crackers. When I wrote about this above and beyond after we returned home we received 2 1 day park hopper passes for our next visit!!!

When we went a few years ago it was my brother's birthday and he had gotten a pin in MK. We walked around and many CMs wished him a happy birthday and when we went to get ice cream they let him have a free popcicle (his favorite that we are not able to find around here) since it was his Birthday. The best part was right before the 3 O'clock parade and a CM got everyone around where we were standing to sing him happy birthday. Simple things are the best! :goodvibes

Our first trip to DLR. We were staying at the Paradise Pier after we got a really good deal at Expedia. We arrived in the evening and prepaid for a shuttle . It was over an hour wait for the shuttle and another hour to get to the Hotel. Not a good start to the trip. When we checked in at PP the CM informed us we been upgraded to another room. Not only was it a park view but it was a 2 bedroom suite. It was so magical ! Me, DW, andDD7 so only 3 of us . We actually felt a little guilty but got over that feeling quickly. The entire trip was amazing and covered with pixie dust!

IMO, the best pixie dust is from fellow park go-ers! Because, you expect the CMs and characters to be nice but when someone else goes out of their way while on vacation you can tell that the magic is spreading! pixiedust:

WOW were you the CM with her? I always wished I had gotten the CM's names (both the one with Mulan and the one with SW) who set that up for us, because it may have seemed like no big deal but to us it was AMAZING- easily the highlight of our two WDW trips!! Here are the pics I got, unfortunately none of the awesome CMs.. you can see Mulan gave her the SW sticker and got her all excited about Snow ;) I can't believe Snow waited for us.. like I said we took our time getting over there because we had no idea the CM had done that!

this is such a magical story about your daughters time with snow white! :wizard: it is so great to hear about the truly wonderful CM's who go above and beyond to make our vacations terrific! :wizard:

it looks like "just walking around the park" is in the lead and i must agree. the most magical things happen when you arent expecting them. i love to just walk around and see what happens! at the very least i enjoy the beautiful ambience of the parks! :wizard:

2 years ago when i had my sweet sixteen in the MK my family wanted Dole Whips. So we went to get them and the guy behind the Dole Whip counter wished me a happy birthday and told me that his gift to me was a free Dole Whip. It was pretty cool. He was so nice! We thanked him a lot. :goodvibes

At Tutto Italia they sang Happy Birthday to me and gave me chocolate mousse. Now I don't know if my husband arranged it or not, he won't give that up. But if was great, as chocolate mousse it my favorite!

Last time we went to MK we had such an incredibley magical experience. First, I must add that my cousin is a performer there, so obviously it wasn't a surprise to see him in the castle show (which he insisted we attended at a certain time). He had also told us to meet him inside the castle after the show for a meet and greet. We kind of thought it would be so our kids could see him in costume and take some magical family pictures. BUT NO! We were waiting by this brown partition that closes off the castle during the show when someone pops out and calls our last name. So we go back there and ALL the cast from the castle show was back there waiting for us!!! We got pictures with our family and Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Peter Pan, Wendy, Malicifent, and all the princesses and their princes!! Apparently my cousin had told them all it was my DDs bday because Cinderella knelt down and asked her about her birthday, if she had a prince (at 4 y/o), and then gathered all the other princesses around to talk to her. It was INCREDIBLE! I know that my cousin had asked them to do it, but they gave up almost their entire break between shows to hang out with us (in full character, of course). :woohoo:

I hope these pics work, I'm at work and they're blocked from my viewing!!

The other (non-familial) spreading of pixie dust was for my DD 4th bday. We had reservations at Cape May Cafe and after our brunch MINNIE MOUSE delivered a giant cupcake with a candle to my daughter! Then all the CMs gathered around to sing "Happy Birthday" while Minnie twirled her fingers like a choir conductor! Then at MK, Aladdin and Jasmine made a huge deal out of it being her birthday and they were dancing around and Aladdin and my DD had a jumping contest! I think it irritated all the other people waiting in line, but... It was so cute! :goodvibes

I'm tearing up over these. Maybe it's Disney magic, or maybe it's baby #2 incubating in my belly, but the waterworks are on.

I love reading threads like this...That being said, nothing ever seems to happen to us!! LOL! I don't really mind I guess because I've never "expected" it would. Though I do have to say that last summer we were there on DS's 7th birthday and nothing special happened to him at all. I did buy him a treasure chest cake for our dinner at Chef Mickey though, and since he didn't know anyone gets treated differently on their birthday he certainly didn't care. (he was even wearing his button AND the "It's My Birthday" Mickey ears)

I really like hearing about other people's special magic though!!:goodvibes
