What do people who live outside your town come to your town for?

I live in a tourist area with a beautiful town right on the lakeshore. People come here for cooler nice weather in the summer to get away from the heat. We are smack dab in the middle of National Forests and protected areas, and there is No polluting industry here. The only industry is logging and tourism. People comes here for the woods, lakes, and weather mostly.

I live very close to Delray Beach, FL and Palm Beach, FL. Very popular destinations... also close enough to drive to Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Orlando in a 2.5 hours or less. So, yeah - we get a lot of tourists. It's ok with me -- I like no state income tax! ;)

We have open enrollment and the best schools in the area so a lot of people send their kids here.
We have a really good pizza restaurant that Rachel Ray has had.
Thomas Edison’s birthplace.

Major medical care/specialists, international air travel, post-secondary education, federal government services, professional sports & concerts, world-class shopping and restaurants and the Calgary Stampede. The one thing most people don't come here for (that's been mentioned quite a few times by others) is the marijuana stores. Since legalization here in Canada a few years ago, there are hundreds in every province - no need at all to travel to the cities.
