For those that have stayed at THV, what are your thoughts? There will be 8 of us going in January and debating between the THV, a 2 bedroom villa, or a grand villa at Saratoga Springs.

We stayed there this weekend in a 3br on the water. The weather was nasty but the THV were great!

We stayed in a THV just this past March. We frankly loved it. There were 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 kids. The kids are all boys and wanted to all stay in the bunkbed room. By the end of the trip though, the older ones were sleeping in the living room.

We stayed there a almost two years ago and really liked it. But it is smaller in size than a 2 bedroom. No king sized bed in the master, only queen sized. Our biggest issue was parking. You are designated a parking area with one space per villa and almost everyday all our spots would be full which meant either people were parking in the wrong spot or more than one car was parking per villa. We had to call the front desk and they would tell us to park in an area not designated for parking. Then they would call us when it was clear to move our car back. Kind of a hassle. Outside of that, we found the Treehouses peaceful and enjoyed the quiet pool very much.

We stayed the the THV during spring break and had a great time. THere were two kids and three adults. We had one car, but only used it to go to the grocery store. We walked to the Grandstand area for bus's or tot he Springs. We didn't find hte walk to be long at all. We would stay again during the fall or Spring. Not sure about the bugs in the summer.... One of the benidits to the THV was not having neighbors right below/ontop/or next door to us. It was quiet and seemed more private...Have a great time!!!

If you like being remote, in a forest, in a tree house then your choice is obvious.

If you like a golf resort with water views and if you plan on spending time in the room, a grand villa can't be beat.

That helped...for us the THV is out!

I was wrestling with the same questions until I finally decided to book the GV. We have 6 adults and 2 young children going in December. :santa: What it came down to for us was not the additional points the GV would cost us, but we actually live here in PA at the base of a mountain. We own a bi-level home. When you go out onto our deck which extends the length of our 2nd story, you’re looking at not only the back yard, but into the woods and up the mountain. You could say we live in our own THV. :) We wanted something different, plus we wanted the extra space. Our home is less in square footage then a GV. We can’t wait!!!:cloud9:

We all loved the THV's when we stayed a little over a year ago. Glamping!

But if you want to be right in the very midst of the resort with everyone else then you might find it a bit quiet. For us the quiet is not a bad thing after being in the parks during the day with several thousand other people. ;)

The bigger part for us when considering the treehouse is the sleeping arrangements which are very different. 2 rooms with queen sized beds, 1 room with bunk beds and the queen sleeper and chair sleeper in the living area. It won't always work very well depending on who is traveling with you.

The GV was and it a contender. Our party right now is 4 adults and 2 kids with the potential for 2 more adults. We would fit in a 2bdrm, butt the space if the GV is tempting. We own at SSR, but are also tempted by OKW for its additional square footage. Just not sure about the resort itself.
