Many people have said the Lobby Reno is the reason. I don't believe it.

they have to have a plan of some sort though. Right now that space isn’t generating any revenue. I assume eventually they’d want it being used for some sort of purpose even if high tea went away.

I think they’ll be having high tea over at the Cake Shop @ Boardwalk…. but I would love to have it @ The Grand!

It belongs in the Victorian Hotel.....

Then again Mary Poppins should also be part of the meet and greets at the GF, and that has gone away....

And eliminating the house orchestra was also a disgrace.... High Tea and Orchestra really do lend some showmanship to the alleged flagship hotel.

Chapel clearly didn't get Disney at all... These hotels weren't about luxury, they were about offering an experience beyond what a Hilton or Marriott or Westin would offer... That was cut to the bone under his watch across the board.... No GF Orchestra, no citizens of Main Street, and the list goes on and on.... Undermining the greatness and uniqueness of this company....

Has anyone stayed recently in a resort studio and can confirm if they now have the regular refrigerators added?

Curious as to whether the VGF resort studio now have regular refrigerators rather than the beverage coolers.

*5/20/24 - M. Mouse Mercantile NOW CLOSED for Refurbishment at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Expected to Reopen July 13.


*Work has NOT started on the lobby as of today.


*4/29/24 - M. Mouse Mercantile Closing for Refurbishment at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort Starting May 13 to Mid-July


As of 4/17/24, the only visible construction at The Grand was located outside the Main Building. Pictures taken during my trip last week can be viewed below. According to emails sent to guests, as well as blogs, work on the Lobby should begin soon. NO DATES HAVE BEEN GIVEN AS FAR AS START OR COMPLETION DATES. As information becomes available, I will be sure to update this thread (Page 1 included). No information has been given regarding any additional work at this time. I’d appreciate anyone who has trips coming up, if they’d kindly post any new construction indoors or out. I’d love to keep this thread as up to date as possible. Thanks so much!!!
