This is the second part of our June 2011 thread.

THe all New *OFFICIAL JUNE* 2011 Some like it Hot!

To keep our group running before we hit the 250 page limit, I have set up part 2 of our group. It is a way to get everyone to be able to stick together since some of us do not go for another 30+ days. We want to make sure we can all still continue to share in the fun of planning and waiting.

The June Threads Tips for Disney Vacations​

1) Ziplock bags for packing kids clothes. (1 bag for each day)
2) clear bag for security checks
3) Take naps
4) carry an insulated water bottle
5) know "your" family when planning
6) get up early and take advantage of rope drop, then relax in afternoon
7) take a break to avoid meltdowns
8) pack ziplock bags for wash clothes (wet and freeze the night before)
9) take advantage of fast pass
10) for buffets ask for bill with drinks so you can leave directly after finishing meal
11) plan ahead as much as possible, but don't overplan
12) pack ponchos
13) sit down for meals at least once a day
14) remember a backpack for supplies during the day
15) Pack chargers in ziplock bag (label the charger so you know what it is for)
16) bring a first aid kit
17) bring extra batteries for toys bought while on vacation (nothing is worse than by light up spinner, etc and having them run out of batteries on vacation)
18) Take a picture of your photopass card so that if you lose it, it can be replaced
19) Write your name on your camera so if it is lost the person can call

[FONT=&quot]Some like it hot team members, as June approaches you and your family are about to set sail on a mission to the deepest and darkest recesses of Walt Disney World. I wish you good luck and a safe voyage. For those of you who are strong and brave of heart, I have a mission for you. A photo safari, ten photographs you or a family member will take this June. Upon your safe and potentially penniless return, post them to this thread for all to enjoy. Are you up to it??? But wait, not just any photos will do. It’s time for the mission list.


[/FONT] 1. Photograph a hidden Mickey.
[FONT=&quot]What’s a hidden Mickey? A Hidden Mickey is a representation of Mickey Mouse that has been inserted subtly into the design of a ride, attraction, or other location in a Disney theme park or elsewhere on Disney properties. The most common Hidden Mickey is a formation of three circles that may be perceived as the silhouette of the head and ears of Mickey Mouse, often referred to by Disney aficionados as a "classic Mickey." Over time, the term Hidden Mickey has come to refer to a range of possibilities from a more complete representation of Mickey Mouse (such as Mickey mixed in with a crowd or in the background), or a representation of another character (such as the huge hidden Jafar at the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail in Africa in the Animal Kingdom). Hidden Mickeys are found in various Disney media, such as animated films, feature length movies, TV series, or the Disney theme parks. Mickeys may be painted, made up of objects (such as rocks, or three plates on a table), or be references such as someone wearing Mickey Mouse Club ears in a painting. 6. A photograph that represents The Magic Kingdom, but not of Cinderella’s castle.

7. A photograph that represents Epcot, but not of Spaceship Earth.

8. A photograph that represents Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but not of The Sorcerer's Hat.

9. A photograph that represents Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but not of The Tree of Life.

10. That moment in your trip that made it all worthwhile.

Some like it hot team members, as June approaches you and your family are about to set sail on a mission to the deepest and darkest recesses of Walt Disney World. I wish you good luck and a safe voyage. For those of you who are strong and brave of heart, I have a mission for you. A photo safari, ten photographs you or a family member will take this June. Upon your safe and potentially penniless return, post them to this thread for all to enjoy. Are you up to it??? But wait, not just any photos will do. It’s time for the mission list.


1. Photograph a hidden Mickey.
What’s a hidden Mickey? A Hidden Mickey is a representation of Mickey Mouse that has been inserted subtly into the design of a ride, attraction, or other location in a Disney theme park or elsewhere on Disney properties. The most common Hidden Mickey is a formation of three circles that may be perceived as the silhouette of the head and ears of Mickey Mouse, often referred to by Disney aficionados as a "classic Mickey." Over time, the term Hidden Mickey has come to refer to a range of possibilities from a more complete representation of Mickey Mouse (such as Mickey mixed in with a crowd or in the background), or a representation of another character (such as the huge hidden Jafar at the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail in Africa in the Animal Kingdom). Hidden Mickeys are found in various Disney media, such as animated films, feature length movies, TV series, or the Disney theme parks. Mickeys may be painted, made up of objects (such as rocks, or three plates on a table), or be references such as someone wearing Mickey Mouse Club ears in a painting. Hidden Mickeys can take on many sizes and forms.

2. Food! A photograph of a favorite food item from WDW.
Zebra dome or a Mickey bar…. Or maybe the kitchen sink?

3. Wildlife, photograph an animal.
Be it a duck, tiger or your DH in that swimsuit you should have thrown away.

4. Planes, trains and automobiles.
If you can ride it photograph it!

5. Fireworks!

6. A photograph that represents The Magic Kingdom, but not of Cinderella’s castle.

7. A photograph that represents Epcot, but not of Spaceship Earth.

8. A photograph that represents Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but not of The Sorcerer's Hat.

9. A photograph that represents Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but not of The Tree of Life.

10. That moment in your trip that made it all worthwhile.


Photographic skill does not matter just be creative, think outside of the norm and bring back photo memories that will last a lifetime.

My DH has another conference at the DTD Hilton in November. We'll be at the Poly from Nov. 10th-13th and the Hilton the 13th-15th/16th. We'll be arriving on my birthday!!!!

Ugh. So everyone in our household has been sick the last couple of days with the stomach flu! We're feeling better today but still have achey bones and a queasy stomach. The thought of only 21 more days to Disney really helped me pull through

Choose one or the other! I know it can be hard, but...

1) If you only had one day, would you rather MK or Epcot? Magic Kingdom by far!

2) If you wanted to see most of the main characters at a character meal would you rather Chef Mickey or Tusker House? I've never been to either of these but looking at reviews I would rather go to Tusker House.

3) If you could only stay at one of these hotels would you rather Grand Floridian or Wilderness Lodge? Grand Floridian


4) If you could only stay at one of these hotels would you rather Carribbean Beach Resort or POP? CBR

5) Mickey Ice Cream Bar or Mickey Shaped Rice Krispie Treat? Mickey Ice Cream Bar

6) If money was not an issue, would you rather fly or drive? Fly

7) Would you rather go to Disney for Food and Wine or Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party? Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party

Dates: June 12-18

June 12: Head to the airport for our 6:30am flight , take the ME to the CSR and get some food from the food court. Head to Boardwalk Bakery to get some cupcakes and then to DTD for shopping and dinner reservation at Wolfgang Pucks. We might see POTC4 at the AMC depending on how tired we are.

June 13: Wake up early enough to catch breakfast at the CSR food court and get to Epcot for rope drop. Lunch at Chef De Frances and dinner at La Hacienda. Watching Illuminations and then back to the hotel to sleep!

June 14: Breakfast reservation at Hollywood & Vine for 8am, hoping to make rope drop for Hollywood Studios. Lunch ADR @ Prime Time for 1:00pm and dinner ADR for Sci-Fi at 5:45pm. Watching Fantasmic! during the first show and then off to the resort for bed.

June 15: MK - Breakfast @ Maya Grill for 7:15am, hoping to make rope drop for MK. Lunch @ Crystal Palace for 12:55pm and dinner for Tonys @ 6:05pm. Hopefully spending the evening relaxing at the resort and swimming.

June 16: AK -Breakfast @ Tusker House for 8:30am, trying to get a 8:00am one so we can make rope drop. Lunch @ Flame Tree BBQ and dinner @ Cape May for their delicious crab legs! Hopefully spending the evening relaxing at the resort or maybe head to DTD depending on when we finish dinner.

June 17: MK - Breakfast @ Grand Floridian @ 7:30am, havent decided on lunch yet, might go with Tortuga Tavern if its open or Cosmic Rays and then dinner @ Raglan Road in DTD at 7:00pm in time to catch the band.

June 18: Departure day

Next trip at this point is the last week of May beginning of June in 2012. It's a GG with my sister and her family, my mom and stepdad, and my older son and his family joining us. There may be a few more family members tagging along as well. I know we will be staying in a Grand Villa but not sure which resort yet. My sister owns at BLT. We own at SSR. But we've also been looking at OKW and BWV. We may try to squeeze a quick trip in right after New Year's but no definite plans yet.
