The *Official* February 2011 Thread - Happy Dance Time...The Park Hours Are Out!

Someone had a child playing in the band at MK on Thursday Feb 5 I think. If the band was Liberty- let me know- I have a few pictures

We had some AMAZING Pixie Dust on our trip-

1) We got the most sought after building in OKW- 3rd floor, water view overlooking golf course green, with amazing Epcot firework views next door to the main building.

2) We were picked as First Family in Toontown- We got to go in before everyone else and as we walked to Mickey's House guess who was waiting for us? MICKEY himself. He held our two little ones' hands and walked them through his house with no other guests in sight- it was incredible

3) Our son was selected to help with the opening of the Lion King show- He got to walk in front of everyone and ROAR like a Lion on the mic. So cute

4) We were seated 20 minutes early for our Le Cellier dinner ADR on my Birthday- and DH surprised me with a special Disney Cake :)

There are more that I am forgeting.... be back later :)

That was me!!! Thank you for taking pictures!! We weren't able to attend that parade because we didn't have hoppers. We saw them the next day for the daytime parade.

I'll PM you my email address if you wouldn't mind emailing the pics to me!

My son had a BLAST on this trip!! (We did too, but it was kind of weird being there at the same time but not being together!)

Here now at AKL and love it so much, we're coming back in April!!! AKL is beautiful! Savannah view is a must!

Here's to safe travels and a magical trip for everyone leaving, or getting ready to leave! :yay:

2 weeks 'til we're outta here!

yep - we did a 16 night stay in March 09 - LOVED it!

If I had my choice that's where I'd be....but gotta stay on budget....we really do love POP....:woohoo::woohoo:

Hi all! Finally have a minute to post. We are having just the best time... Room location is great, 70's building on the very end closest to Classic Hall, just as I had requested. The weather has been *gorgeous* -- but definitely chilly. It's warming up, though (unfortunately for me, lol.)

We have seen people, but not many! We were at rope drop at DHS yesterday and DS ran and got TSM fastpasses, then we walked right onto RnRC. Front seat, it was as incredible a ride as always. :) Then we rode GMR, then it was time for our fastpasses -- all in about an hour.

Went to the Dessert Party last night, and it was as worth every penny as before. They had assigned us the table at the very "tip" of the point on the terrace, aiming at the castle. It was absolutely perfect. And thanks to my new little EasyShare camera and the nifty Gorilla wrap-around tripod my mom got me, I actually got some fireworks photos for the first time ever!

After that was late EMH at MK, until midnight. We stayed until they kicked us out, and everything was a complete walk-on at that point. I don't know what my son hit, but he got 358,000 on Buzz, utterly decimating me, lol. I'll get him back. :thumbsup2

We seem to always have great luck with transportation.. As soon as we walk up, a bus or boat or whatever pulls right up. We've lucked so far again this trip! :goodvibes

For the first time in all our trips, we finally caught The American Adventure yesterday. How have I missed this all this time?? It was wonderful, and I think it should be required viewing for every US resident.

The new caramel shop in Germany is to-die-for!! OMG, the dark-chocolate drenched slab of caramel I got is absolutely amazing. Definitely going back for more. And I got a ginormous marble cupcake from Starring Rolls, but haven't had time/stomach space to eat it yet! LOL Pop food court has not disappointed -- everything has been as good as I remember, and the new Angus BBQ burger is yummy. The food court is always crowded, but have not had any trouble finding a table.

Today we slept in and are off to have lunch at WPE then shop shop shop, then we're heading back to Epcot for the evening.

Couple observations:
There are still many, many South American's here. Not in groups, but families -- but just as rude. Unbelievable, we-are-the-only-people-on-the-planet rude, and their children are absolutely out of control. Ugh.

I have decided that I would pay double for just one stroller-free day at WDW. I'm sorry, it's just inconsiderate to haul a stroller the size of a Smart Car onto a packed bus, where there is absolutely nowhere to put it and all it can do is fall on people's shins. :headache: But hey, your precious snowflakes are comfortable and that's all that matters, right? Seriously, your kids' legs work -- let 'em use them. If they get cranky, then you didn't plan in a rest like you should have and you've had them in the parks too long. Adjust accordingly.

Sorry for the rant, it is just the only black mark on an otherwise perfect trip so far -- they're worse every time.

Okay, enough negative! Everything else is going so great, I just try and ignore the battering-ram-pushers and go about my way. :goodvibes Time to go find pretty sparkly things at DTD! :yay:

Anna ~ I'm so glad we got to meet!!! I hope your last couple of days are awesome.

Talk to y'all later! :dance3:

Just did online checkin! :dance3:

I think I'm going to tell the kids tonight that we're going next week (they think we're going in May). I have a V-Day bag for each of them with personalized mickey/minnie ears, personalized Mickey/minnie shirts, autograph book for DD and this awesome, awesome, WDW book I found for DS:

AWESOME Gina!!!!! LOVE the pictures!!! I can't wait to get there!!!!

Pictures are awesome Gina!! We were in the 80's section and still in close range to the buses (via the parking lot). Not a bad area to be in!

Sorry for the rudies. We had them too.

And I laughed out loud at your reference to strollers the size of Smart Cars. :lmao: Sooo true!!

We're back! We had a blast! Crowds were great during the week. At the most, we had to wait 20 min. to get on a ride. We were able to walk on a bunch of them. Friday and Saturday were pretty crowded. Wait times were pretty long. We utilized fast pass a lot those two days. I am ready to start planning our next trip, but it is going to take me a while to convince my hubby to go back.

Chris - The refrigerator is ready and waiting for you. They didn't give me a receipt, but said it was all taken care of. I hope you have a great time!

I am going to post this here just in case..... if anyone knows anyone that fits the bill, please let me know...

Hi! I know this is a long shot but it is worth a try! There was a family of about 5-7 people on a Charlie Brown Shuttle with us last night on our return flight from Disney.... I think they accidently grabed one of our bags. They had disney dream inagural hoddies on there was a young boy about 8 or 9 (who got sick when the plane landed) a daughter, their mom, and some other older family memebers. the flight was from 8:20 out of orlando to pittsburgh. I had a disney duffel bag that was the promotional item with our daughters souviners in it.... and it is missing. it made it on to the shuttle with us, and not into our truck. I know this is a super long shot, but i figured it didnt hurt to try, just incase they were DIS members.... please let me know if anyone knows of a pittsburgh family that came home late last night!

Thanks

Natalie

She just called!!!!!! Yay Pixie dust!!!!!

Natalie- I am so glad she called- I was so nervous for you!!!

How was AKL? What type of room did you stay in? We are considering renting points to stay in a value studio at jambo for next trip!

disneyfirsttimer - AKL is beautiful...this is my last day here, but im not sad because we are coming back soon!! we are in a dvc studio savannah view in jambo house overlooking the sunset savannah, and it is great! if you can do it, i would recommend it! :thumbsup2

Did you go direct through disney, rent points, or are you a DVC member- if you dont mind me asking.

I am so nervous to rent points- all on the trust system you know? But to get the value studio for January we would need to arrange for the point rental like NOW

3 days and counting. i dropped my daughter off at school this morning. It was cold again in the high 20s and the wind was blowing. i reminded her to think back to this moment in three days when she and I are walking to the huge pool at the Marriott world and it is 78 degrees. can't wait. :)

We are on our way home from Toronto now. We had a wonderful time on our very first trip! Our biggest pixie dust moment: DD was chosen to be the "special princess" at the Beauty and the Beast show at HS... She was escorted to the stage after the show where Belle and the Prince gave her a rose! And DH missed it all (he was off riding Rockin Roller coaster) :(
LOTS of cheerleaders, but they weren't as bad as I thought. Just big groups: you think you're walking onto a ride and then out of nowhere 30 cheerleaders show up in line!
I didn't notice too many rude people at all!
The weather was super nice our 2 last days and quite cold the first few: only rained a bit our first night at Epcot. We skipped AK and decided to go back to Epcot on our last day (v-day) and to DTD.
Food: WPE, mama melrose's, Teppan Edo and CRT were awesome! Columbia harbour house and cosmic ray's were the same and not very good. Chef mickey's was disappointing and crystal palace was just ok.
My thumbs are sore from typing on my blackberry so I'll stop now :)

Quick check in!

After spending all day ay AK, I can honestly say that it's not my cup of tea. Even though it was the "best" park for today it felt congested. Lines were short. We waited maybe 20 for EE and 10 for Dinosaur. (which scared me, btw. The picture is classic) Hit MK for the dessert party, *so* worth it!!!

Going to take it easy tomorrow, as I am having foot issues, blah.

Have a great day!!
