St.Maarten beach advice?

We are going on a Disney cruise in a few weeks and have not been able to book a beach excursion, as they have been sold out since they opened for booking.
Ive been checking daily to see if anything opens up, but so far no luck. Does anyone have any advice on a nice beach we can get to without an excursion? I would prefer
to be with a Disney excursion, but looking for any advice to get to a beach on our own as well. thanks!!

We have been to St. Maarten three times on cruises and our favorite beach in the Caribbean is on that island. We always take a local cab at the port to it on the Dutch side (no passport required). It is about a half hour ride but worth it. Mullet Bay Beach is well known, it has soft white sand, crystal clear water, and you can walk right in off the sand. There are usually chairs and umbrellas for rent as well as a small local business there making food and selling drinks. The beach typically has a port a potty as well. This beach is located close to the airport but is not Maho Beach, where the planes flyover before landing. You can check out these beaches online for more information and revues. Getting a local cab back to the ship is not a problem. They know cruisers are there looking for rides in the afternoon.
