If we are going to catch up to the August repo thread, You All need to post a little more !!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :confused3

This will be cruise 13 for us. :woohoo:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
We have also chartered a sail boat in the BVI"s for a week..

We use to cruise on a 3 masted schooner, kinda like windjammer barefoot cruises. It was a Tall ship! It sank in a hurricane off the Coast of St. Martin.

We said the First Med was going to be our last, until DCL comes out with a new ship!

But  Winotracy has us going on this one!

We are not Booked yet.:confused3
But will call DVC Monday! to see what the points are going to be and or contact DU ;)
If the points are crazy we will book with cash,
price was not to bad:)
from what Tracy told us!

Peter

Im not excited about Nassau either,

Does nothing for us!

We just went in January on the Wonder, yip, just a couple weeks ago!
Went over to Atlantis, This was ok, for the 4 kids we had with us!
would not bother renting 2 rooms again! :rolleyes1
to get into the pool area's ;)

will find something to do im sure!
:wizard:

Is this the first time the Magic, will do this Route?
Just wondering?
Peter

Wonder what the drydock changes will be following this cruise?

Peter

We were going to do Atlantis as we have a severely disabled dd that it's hard to get her into the Goofy pool and the mickey pool is always so busy that she just gets a face full of water from kids splashing. Thought we'd do Atlantis and use their pool so she gets some pool time.
Also a have friend who is doing a 2 year contract with his firm in Nassau so hopefully we'll see him while we are there.
Like CC as they have the beach wheelchairs anr dd can get to the water! However, Oceaneer's Club loved her last time and kept her with no problems... not sure about this time though as the older group moves around alot.

Well at least I know I will have company because I will be stuck in Mickey's ear too! I would love to do the Atlantis if we can get a day room. If not my hubby and I are going to the spa and then back with the kiddos to the pool on the boat!:thumbsup2

We cruised the Wonder last Labor Day week and there was a special going on at that time for the Atlantis Resort. Seems like it was $99 or $109/night. We have a family of 5 though, so we booked a room at the Comfort Suites next door at a rate of $128/night. The Comfort Suites did not charge my 12 year olds an adult rate making it less expensive. Point being, there may be specials that can be booked for that week that will be cheaper (and more of a guarantee) than a day room. Sign up for Travelzoo.com's weekly specials newsletter or check out Comfort Suites closer to our travel dates. :thumbsup2

Speaking of the Atlantis Resort - they have opened a new water park area at the resort, it's called Aquaventure and it has a water roller coaster that uses "master blaster" technology. Sounds cool! :cool1:

If you get a room there, can you use the Atlantis pool???

Yes, you receive the same priveleges as the Atlantis guests - use of the pools, slides, beaches, aquarium, etc. You receive the same wristband and off you go.

To clarify why I didn't use the Atlantis rate - Atlantis was going to charge another $45 or so dollars per 12 year old (anyone over the age of 10) as extra adults in our room, making our "special rate" not so special. Comfort Suites did not do that. :thumbsup2 It's a very short walk. The kids and I went straight into Atlantis while my DH checked in at the Comfort Suites. I know it didn't take him 10 minutes because he joined us before the other party we were with got checked into the Atlantis Resort.

Im not positive but I think it is. I will have an almost 2 year old so there won't be much to do for us in Nassau. I am now thinking of using Flounders and going to the Casino.:rolleyes1 :dance3:

Peter

I have never been on the magic so I wouldn't know. Someone on the boards said they would not want to do this cruise because it was right before drydock...Does anyone know what difference that makes, thanks for any info!:)

I know people have said they would not want to cruise the week after dry dock because not everything gets finished during dry dock and sometimes things are being completed during the cruise (meaning, for example a section of the spa wouldn't be open for that cruise because it wasn't finished).

I don't know why they wouldn't want to cruise before dry dock unless it's because of the wear and tear of the ship at that time and the lack of repairs to it since it's about to go into dry dock. :confused3 But it won't go into dry dock until October will it? :scratchin

But it won't go into dry dock until October will it?

Was told it was following this cruise!!
Maybe I misunderstood? T ? ;)

The Magic is going into drydock right after our cruise. The next cruise will be September 27 -- a double dip.

Wear and tear is the main reason people don't want to do the sailings closest to drydock. We have done sailings on both ships within a month of drydock and I have no complaints.

After drydock, yes, some things may not be done. The spa was not ready yet after the last drydock. That being said, I don't remember hearing any problems after the last Wonder drydock. Also, they usually have drydock for 2 weeks. The Magic will be out of commission for three weeks this time.

not getting the vacation insurance on this cruise? I am wondering if it is necessary. I know it's hurricane season but have been told they will go somewhere to avoid any bad weather...

I am getting insurance for the first time. My daughter easily catches stomach bugs so if anyone on the cruise has it she will get it:sad2: . If she is confined to the room by disney, then I will be devestated so at least I can get my money back.

I have always gotten insurance. On my first cruise, my father suddenly died and I had to fly home from St. Thomas. The $2000 that we got back convinced me I did the right thing. Now I don't get my insurance through Disney though. Since we are on the repo too I will get a policy that will cover both cruises and the flights. This will save me more over DCL.

Dvcnewgirl - Is Flounder's open when we're in port? I don't think we'll use it in Nassau, but we're doing a DCL Eastern on the 17th and I think it would be nice to just browse the shops without 2 kids in tow. I didn't see Flounder's open during our port times when I booked online, but now you've got me interested to check on board!

I haven't paid close enough attention as to when it goes into drydock. You make me feel better though since you haven't had any complaints. :thumbsup2

I will keep my eye out thanks for the info. I love travelzoo. I just got a nick hotel stay through their discount that I will be using before my Wonder trip in May.
