rose and crown for illuminations??

we got ps for rose and crown for epcot at 740 pm on nov. 16.my brother read it was a good spot to view illuminations. any one ever do this?

I've never done this but I understand that when you check in at the podium, you should tell the CM that you are happy to wait for an "outside" table. Then eat slowly

I'm going to move this to our restaurants board for you. The experts over there can offer some excellent advice, I'm sure.

Yes the Rose and Crown patio is a wonderful spot to watch Illuminations, and yes I have done so several times. My advice to you would be not to count on it, or get frustrated if they can't seat you on the patio. There is limited patio seating, and believe me, everyone wants to show up between 7:00 and 7:45 and sit at one of those tables. I have read posts here where some of the CM's will not allow you to wait for a patio table, but insist you take what table is available. It can't hurt to ever so nicely make your request. I personally have had success doing so. If they decline to honor your request, I would suggest you eat dinner inside and then leave in time to get a spot somewhere else. We have eaten inside here as well, and personally enjoy the atmosphere better than the atmosphere on the patio.

On our last trip during Easter, we had a 7:45 PS at Rose and Crown. I made the PS at about the 90-day mark. We were seated outside on the patio -- the perfect spot for watching Illuminations. It was absolutely incredible being so close. I enjoyed it more than being on the cruise. We asked if there was anything on the patio when we checked in.

If you do get seated inside, or at the fat back of the patio, they have a reserved standing area by the water. Last May it was so hot, we enjoyed eating inside, and were then escorted to the viewing area. A great place to see the show! We do it every trip.

I purposely make a ps for about an hour and a half prior to Illuminations each visit at the Rose & Crown. I'll show up early, check-in and request a patio table near the water. I also tell them I do not mind waiting for one. I've gotten one each time and the view is wonderful. Don't forget to try the Warm Apple Crumble topped with ice cream! YUMMY YUMMY!!!
